Mini Camera Shutter Card

 Hi There Creators,

Today I'm showing you how to make a mini camera shutter card, it's made with an A6 piece of card (so cute!)

Here are 3 of the cards as closed ,1/2 open, and open, so it makes a bit more sense (little hard to photograph!)

Mini Camera Shutter Card, Beautiful Balloons Suite, Stampin' Up!

And these are the components you'll need to make this particular one, check out this list for the products used: what Heather used  and the measurements are below.

You'll need:
  • A6 thick white card, scored in each side at 3.7cm
  • 2 pieces Misty Moonlight card cut to 7cm x 5.9cm scored at 1cm on the long edge
  • 2 pieces of designer paper cut to 1" x 4"
  • 1 piece of designer paper cut to 2" x 4", scored in at 1/2cm (or 1/4") both ends and with the medium filled in balloon from the dies cut from the middle of it.
  • a small balloon cut from designer paper.
  • 2 3/8" circle punch
  • take your pick tool

I'm not sure I'd do justice to explaining how to create this one, so I'll leave it up to the video!

I hope you have a go at making it, you can do them bigger too, just increase the size of the parts!, remember the 2 mechanism parts (the misty moonlight ones in my example) need to overlap in the middle of the card for it to work.

I hope this inspires you to create

Something Saturday - Fancy Fold Planets Card

 Hi there Creators,

We're onto Week 3 of the Designer Paper sale (which goes all of June)  and I'm still kind of stuck on the AMAZING Stargazing Paper (currently on sale for $18.48 from $21.75), it is actually part of a whole suite Stargazing Suite, but the stamp set didn't really appeal to me, however the papers are a different matter......  Oh and check out the Holographic Trio Papers (oh WOW!) having said that I haven't used them in these projects!

Also there's a joining deal on during June too!  you can get an extra $48 on the normal starter kit's amazing value, so that's: Join my team in June and pick $283 of goodies but only pay $169!!  wow!  If you're interested ask me for more details - or if you know you're sure, go here:  Join Heather's team

However I'm guessing you want to see the cards, and get the measurements, so here goes.................. by the way I think they might be called a Reverse bridge fold card, but I wouldn't bet on it 🀣

This is the one I end up making the base of in the video this is the card closed,

Special Fold Stargazing Card, Stampin' Up!

Then open:
And the one I made before the video:   Closed
Special Fold Stargazing Card, Stampin' Up!
 Open:
Special Fold Stargazing Card, Stampin' Up!

and now for the measurements:

you'll need an A5 Thick card (either vanilla or white depending on your designer paper)

Score at: 5.25cm and 7.9cm in both sides, and fold so it kind of forms a bridge effect.

the Mat's you'll need:

  • 3 of 14.5cm x 5cm
  • 2 of 14.5cm x 2.5cm
then for the Designer paper on top of the mats you'll need a piece of Designer paper measuring 5.5cm high and 8" long, you then cut this into chunks in this order:
  • 1 1/2"
  • 3/4"
  •  1 3/4"
  • 3/4"
  • 1 1/2"
If you cut it in that order your pattern will line up across the front of your card

stick it all down and embellish as you want to😁

I hope I've inspired you to have a go too

Something Saturday - Folded Designer Paper Card

 Hi there Creators,

Today I thought I'd show you how to make a card out of designer papers that shows off both sides of the papers (let's face it when we look at these gorgeous papers sometimes its hard to know which side is the one we want to use!) - problem solved - use both sides 🀣

And BONUS there's a designer Paper sale on all of June - woo hoo! (funnily enough both of these papers are in it 😁)

Also discovered there's a joining deal on during June too!  you can get an extra $48 on the normal starter kit's amazing value, so that's: Join my team in June and pick $283 of goodies but only pay $169!!  wow!  If you're interested ask me for more details - or if you know you're sure, go here:  Join Heather's team

Here are the cards I made up, this one from the video this first one uses the fabulous Zoo Crew

Zoo Crew designer Paper, Stampin' Up!
and the back of the card.
Zoo Crew designer Paper, Stampin' Up

Then this one I made up afterwards to see if I could make up a landscape card too

Stargazing designer Paper, Stampin' Up!

How cool is this Stargazing Designer Paper?! 2 of the designs have these fabulous planets you can cut out
Stargazing designer Paper, Stampin' Up!

and here are the measurements:

To make this portrait:

Cut the Designer Paper to 14.8cm x 10", then score at 1", 3", 7" & 9"  fold up, add a piece into the middle to write on and something at the front to add interest

To make this landscape:

Cut the Designer Paper to 10.5cm x 12", then score at 1 1/4", 3 1/2", 8 1/2" & 10 3/4" again fold up and add something to the front - bear in mind this card doesn't completely close in the middle there's a gap of about 1/2"

If you missed the video and would like to see it - here it is😁

I hope this inspires you to create

Something Saturday - Designer Paper Boxes

 Hi There Creators

well today we're doing a spot of folding - Go the Origami boxes!  I used to make an origami box like this (with origami, it doesn't require glue) I wondered how I could make it so it displayed both sides of the Designer Paper, and now I've worked it out (kind of by accident!, and mine requires glue!) 🀣

Currently until the end of June there is a Designer Paper sale on - woo hoo hopefully you'll find the papers here:  Patterned Papers  The one I'm using today is called Stargazing it's quite gorgeous (as are most of the Stampin' Up! Papers)!

Anyway here are the photos then I'll attempt to explain how to make them, ummmm!

Origami Designer Boxes, Stampin' Up!

Origami Designer Boxes, Stampin' Up!

Origami Designer Boxes, Stampin' Up!

Ok here goes, you will need a square of Designer Paper (that is patterned on both sides)

  • Fold the square in 1/2 so you have a rectangle, then open and fold in 1/2 the other way and open it up again (you'll now have a + in the square)
  • now fold the corners in to the centre

  • Then turn the whole thing over and fold the sides to the centre

  • open up those 2 and repeat with the other 2 sides
  • then open up like this:

  • fold the 2 long sides down and you'll find the ends will fold in and round so the little triangle tucks nicely inside the box (stick the triangle down)

  • then repeat with the other side.  lastly decide what you want to do with the flaps underneath.
  • If you want to do a box with a lid, make the difference between the starting squares 1/4" (smaller box for the base)
Phew I think I've explained it - however if that didn't make sense and you've missed the video, here it is!

I hope you are inspired to have a go too

July Mega Class

 Hi there Creators,

I usually do a Mega Class in January and July (normally I try and do Christmas in July) however this year as the Annual Catalogue has only just come out we don't have much of a Christmas offering, so I'm going with Kids and Big Kids (let's face it we all need Big Kids cards! - especially if you have any guys in your life - husband/kids/nephews......)  I know my husband is just a big kid 🀣  Might have to try and do Christmas later after my trip to UK.

A sneak peek of the cards will be happening in my videos throughout June, however here is a conglomerate photo to whet your appetite:

This time rather than receiving a Stamp set I thought we go with something different but useful......Stampin' Write Markers, very handy as you can colour your stamps with these and stamp, or use them to colour in images (and in fact other things you can do with them eg create an interesting background by colouring on a clear block and stamping it)

You'll also receive a few other things including Designer Papers, Bling, obviously the kits for all 12 cards, a random door prize, plus lunch & snacks, and more.

 the Nitty Gritty......

Details

Saturday 15th July at Laanecoorie Hall
from 10.30am till 3.30pm
$125 for the day,
unless you're part of my team, in which case you'll need to purchase your own markers and the day will be $60

Everyone will need to bring (or arrange to share or let me know if you don't have it)
  • Stazon Black ink pad
  • Crafting tools (eg silicone craft mat, take your pick tool, tweezers, paper snips (scissors), bone scorer)
  • Glues (a "flat" glue such as tombow, and dimensionals)
Last time we had a group who brought their own things to do and enjoyed a crafting day out, if you'd like to do that, lunch and snacks provided and you'd still be in the prize draws.
$25 for the day

Last day to book your place 30th June, however NB if you book by 15th June I will have a special extra gift for you in your pack. πŸ˜‰

I hope you can join us for the day, I'm looking forward to it 😁

Something Saturday - Stage Window Card

 Hi There Creators,

The Zoo Crew Suite, just lends itself so perfectly to a stage setting that I just had to create an easy window card to show you.

Here's the first one I made before the video:

Stampin' Up!, Zoo Crew Suite

these images have been cut out from the Designer Series Paper, some of the dies do match the images, but these ones are fussy cut.

then in the video I start on making this one, and this is how it turns out.  I was thinking it would make a great Christmas Card, if I can find a saying with words from a Christmas Carol for it.  I loved the idea of having double curtains, let's face it most stages have extra curtaining behind the main first curtain, if I made it again I realised that I should have positioned the 2nd curtains upstage a bit, so you see the bottom of them - ah well trial and error!

Stampin' Up!, Zoo Crew Suite
Lol in the video I wonder what the sausage looking pieces are for, and then on reviewing the video I realised they could be tree decorations, I've just had another epiphany - curtain tie backs!!  Woo hoo 4 potential uses now: sausages, eyebrows, tree decorations and curtain tie backs 🀣  Now I'm feeling a bit stupid, I could see the deer feeding the hippo a sausage in the first card 🀣

I hope this inspires you to create, if you have a go I'd love to see it.
