Something Saturday - Rock & Roll

 Hi there Creators,

Today we're checking out the Rock & Roll designer Series Paper, it's a great all rounder being black & white (check it out with the link above)

Oh and don't forget.....that Sale-a-Bration (SAB) is still going to the end of Feb, which means for every $90 you purchase you get a FREE SAB goody, or if you have heaps you want, you could join my team, and pick $235 of goodies, and only pay $169! plus you get the Glass Mat Studio for FREE or an extra $51 of goodies to pick for free! (making it $286 you can pick and only pay $169!! bargain!)  click the links to find out more info.

Anyway, onto the cards I created with it, after last week I was kind of stuck on my Alphabet A La Mode dies, so kept using them🤣  Oh Plus I also used the new Stampin' Brayer to create a great quick colour for the background so it wasn't the stark white (the advantages of having black & white designer paper!) then I used my Stampin' Write markers to colour in 3 of the guitars (was tempted to colour in more)  then one of my fav stamp sets Biggest Wish to create the big BIRTHDAY.  I like the way the "happy" pops with the Soft Sea foam behind it.

Then as I had my Happy already cut out I thought rather than adding to my rather large collection of scraps, I'd best do something with it!  It wasn't going to show up well enough on the dark coloured DSP, so I figured a bit of vellum underneath works wonders 😃, and as it's kind of hard to stamp onto vellum, I thought it would be better to have the Birthday white heat embossed onto it.  By the way Birthday comes from the matching Stamp set "Rock Star", just a case of only inking up the Birthday bit of the stamp, which isn't too hard to do, or wipe off the excess ink before you stamp.  How cool are the little boom boxes, record players, and tapes? (oh takes me back to my teenage years and taping songs off the radio......)

I hope this inspires you to create too, dig out your black & white DSP and colour or brayer it in!

Something Saturday - Let's Go Alphabet

 Hi There Creators,

Today we're checking out both of the Alphabet Die sets that Stampin' Up! have on offer at the mo.

Alphabet A La Mode Dies, and Mini Alphabet Dies, both sets really handy, and if you're a scrapbooker, I'd say they're essential!

Anyway, here are the cards I created this time:

The first card, kind of uses the off-cut piece, and I suggested in the video you could do an anagram of someone's name using it, this one is just a FOR U card 😊 with a few other off cuts I happened to have lying around on my desk.

Stampin' Up! Mini Alphabet Dies

Then this is the card I made up in the video, I had previously cut the black glimmer paper (quite a long time ago) intending to make up a card like this, which clearly hadn't been used 🤣 can't rush these things!

So, as Sam's birthday is looming at the end of Feb, and he'll be 13 I thought I could make it up for him, his fav colour is "cyan" as he likes to call it (I'd call it turquoise or blue) I've used Tahitian Tide.  No idea what he'll be getting for his birthday yet...... (hopefully he likes his custom made card)

I also used them in the scrapbook that I've been making (if you're a regular here, you might remember I was doing some last week):

Something Saturday - Mini Ink Pads & Alphabet dies

 Hi there Creators,

Today I showed off a quick way to create 2 cards from one cut, nice and simple, but with a great look to them.

Here are the cards:

The cool thing with this is you can gear it to the colours the person really likes.

The idea is to have a piece of card that will give a nice gap all the way round once it's on your card, mine measures 9.5cm x 13.8cm (bearing in mind my base card is 10.5cm x 14.8cm).  You cut out the Happy (or other word) I've used the Alphabet a la Mode dies, leaving enough room to stamp a sentiment in too, (I've used Biggest Wish Stamp set) use the cut out letters in the other card, and add colour to your base card so it peeps through.

I've taken my mini ink pads and swiped them on their ends to get this scribbled effect, I guess you could use pencils or pens, but this was so quick and easy!  Mini ink pads - or Stampin' Spots as they're actually called are such fabulous pads to have, I've inked one up for each colour we have, all you need is the Re-inker and the Stampin' spots and you can have any colour you like

I wanted the cut out word, to really pop, which is why I left it white and brushed colour intensively round the edges of the card

In the video with this second card I wasn't sure how well the birthday would show up using the gorgeous Grape colour, so I ended up popping the card in my Stamparatus just in case I needed a darker colour, so much easier to line it back up again!

I hope this inspires you to create

Something Saturday - Simple but effective card

 Hi there Creators,

Happy New Year! (or at least New Years eve😍)

Today I'm showing off how to create another card design that I was sent for Christmas, I can see so many ways to use this throughout the whole year, and it's such an easy card to make (don't you just love that?!)

With this card I'm doing a bit of a sneak peek (not that far in advance now as it'll be available on 5th January)  I'm using the Alphabet a la Mode Dies, such a great die set and I love that it has numbers as well as letters.

Stampin' Up!, Alphabet a la Mode dies

As you can see I made one each up for my kids for Christmas.  Ben even commented that it was a great card and would be good for all year round (high praise!)

I've actually used the Storybook Gnomes Designer Papers in the background which amazingly are still available despite being reduced on the retiring list! (from $21 down to $12.60)  check them out through the link they're available till 4th January, not long to go!

Here is the inside of Sam's card, I've added a layer of white over the back of the front of the card (ha that makes sense 🤣) but it covers the edges of the Window Sheet (and the not so attractive gluey bits that show through it)

Then the middle of Ben's card...

Stampin' Up!, Alphabet a la Mode dies

And lastly Josh's card.......

You can probably see from the photos how to create these cards, but just in case you missed it here's the video:

You can make these cards with any alphabet dies, just adjust the gap between the top and bottom of the dies to suit your card.

I hope this inspires you to create.
