Cards for December Classes

 Hi there Creators

Wow we're at the end of the year again! my goodness that has come round fast!  Last card class for the year, of course focusing on Christmas cards.  Card class dates are: Maryborough: Saturday 2nd at 10.30am, then Wednesday 6th 10.30am and Thursday 7th at 7pm in my classroom in Laanecoorie.  Class cost is $24 for 4 cards - if you're coming please do let me know, and let's have a Christmas Celebration!  NB: the Maryborough class date is different to the one I originally had advertised as our Carol service at church is the following weekend and we have a rehearsal all day Saturday!

Onto the cards:

I had to use the Light the Sky bundle again, it's really one of my favourites! I've also discovered the absolutely gorgeous Rose Gold Specialty Paper, ummmm

Light the Sky, Stampin' Up!
This next card I thought was kind of fun!  Using the Modern Oval punch to create the little bags, and the Merry Bold & Bright Designer paper, I felt it went well with the nice bold saying from Joy to You stamp set.
Joy to You, Stampin' Up!
Then moving onto the next card, again some gorgeous cardstock Joy of Christmas Designer Series papers (seems to be a recurring theme here!) Using the More Wishes and Biggest Wish stamp sets, heat embossed with Metallics Embossing Powders.

Joy of Christmas DSP, Stampin' Up!
And the last card, again some gorgeous Papers: This time Winter Meadow Designer Series paper (which is actually a continuing product not retiring just yet - it surprised me that one!) and also the Snowflake Magic Specialty Paper (which is retiring)
Winter Meadow DSP, Stampin' Up!

I'd love to have you come & join us for a class, but if you can't make it I hope these cards inspire you to create.

God Bless love

Sorry it's short & sweet this week, but I've got to run, got to go & collect Tom from hospital - just hoping he's ok to be home!

Hope these inspire you to create in your own space - would love to see you at class if you can make it - let me know 😊

Something Saturday - Merry Bold & Bright

 Hi there Creators

Today I thought we'd have a play with the cute Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper, I made up this card before the video: For this one I've ended up stamping the sentiment from Joy to You stamp set, then clear heat embossing over the top (if you stamp with a normal ink it will rub straight off vellum, so you have to set it in place).  I did initially stamp directly onto the cardstock, but discovered that the paper is a little bit too busy for that, and it didn't show up, but I love using vellum, as you can still see the images through it (it's like adding a "transparency shape" to a picture in Word, which I also love doing)  How cool is the White Iridescent ribbon?  and you can see the little Iridescent Adhesive backed discs in the corners of the vellum (ooo goldfish..... shiny..... )🀣

Stampin' Up!, Merry Bold & Bright

Then in the video I end up making a sleeve/wrapping for a couple of blingy gifts I'm sending off to people, very simple, cut the cardstock to the right width, then fold, fold and add a couple of holes for ribbon, voila.....

Stampin' Up!, Merry Bold & Bright
And I also made a sleeve for a notebook, I buy these ones from KMart to decorate, but this time thought it would be nice to have an extra covering for it - either for the person who receives it to keep the decorated notebook pristine, or just as a way to surprise them about how it's decorated (if that makes sense?)  I did promise measurements, so check those out below.

And here is the notebook all decorated up, the person I have in mind for it is very musical, so I hope this person likes it!  I've used the Joyful Specialty Designer Series Paper with it's beautiful Gold foiling, and then Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper (so pretty)

Joy of Christmas & Joyful DSP, Stampin' Up!

So the measurements for the notebook sleeve are as follows, you need:

  • DSP 9 1/2" x 12"
  • score the long edges at 1/2" in each side
  • Score the short length at 5 3/4" x 6 1/4" which should give you a "spine" in the middle of 1/2"
  • Then trim the 4 short bits in the middle so the cardstock will fold up to create the box like sleeve, and stick it together.
  • You can decorate it up (I added the extra piece I cut off across the middle and a bit of ribbon)

If you missed the video, here it is:

I hope this inspires you for your Christmas gifting 😍

Something Saturday - Using Stampin' Up!'s New Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper

 Hi there Creators

Today I have BLING 😍 in the form of the new Online Exclusive Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper (check it out through the link) It comes in Gold and Silver - one sheet of each (12x12") in the pack, and Oh my goodness, you're going to want some!  As a demo I got to order it early (having said that I was away in England when it arrived, so haven't been able to play till now)

BUT guess what?  This month (October) Stampin' Up! have an amazing Joining special, so you too could pick up goodies before they're available to general public (and much more).  Check the deal out here:  Join My Team.

Anyway on with the bling, Oh I mean blog.....

Here are the cards I create from the pieces I make in the video

Here is the first one that I'd created before the video

Stampin' Up!', Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper, Handcrafted elements dies

I use the Handcrafted Elements Dies, Joy to You stamp set and the beautiful Silver & White Sheer ribbon, as well as the amazing new glimmer paper!  in the video I show how I take the middle out (relatively easily) so I can make 2 cards out of the one cut. (not quite so easy to describe!)

Stampin' Up!', Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper, Handcrafted elements dies

The other one's I made up into smaller 1/2 sized Thank you cards, as it's sometimes really handy to have a small card to add into a package (when Tom sells something on facebook and it's being mailed out I like to add a little thanks, but I always feel like a proper sized card is a bit of an overkill 🀨)  The first 2 have the leaves up, which is what I felt was the right way up.

Stampin' Up!', Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper, Handcrafted elements dies
until I tried the leaves the other way up and now I'm not sure which way is right🀣 I kind of like them coming down

What do you think?

Anyway here is the video if you missed it:

I hope this inspires you to buy some and try it out for yourself!
