Something Saturday - Hooray for Honeycomb Kit

Image
Hi there Creators, Today I thought we'd take a look at one of the new Kits that Stampin' Up! has brought out, it's really fun!, the name "honeycomb" kind of gives it away🤣 There are 9 cards to create, and it's a nice simple kit, would make an excellent gift for anyone who is thinking of starting off with card-making, there's no stamping involved - it's all "stick it together" and everything is included to do this.  At $32 it works out to $3.56 per card (which let's face it is pretty cheap for a card these days!) So here are the cards you can make (3 of each): Don't you just love the matching envelopes? The front of each card has clear embossed shiny bits on it (most obvious on the rainbow card at the top! with my photography) And there you have it, I haven't had the chance to play around and see what else I can create with this kit yet, so if you get it and do play around, let me know what you do! If you missed the video here it

Something Saturday - Let's Mask Again

Image
Hi there Creators,  This week I am showing off these new Artistic Mix Decorative Masks.  I love the way you can layer them up, and create a heap of different looks (they're actually even better than I thought they were!)  and at only $17.50 a bit of a bargain!  I used my blending brushes to brush the colour over them onto the card. In the video I show off creating backgrounds with them, but don't show off the finished cards, so here we go...... they are actually very simple cards just with a bit of ribbon and the odd embellishment, only 2 of them actually have extra cardstock - the Christmas one uses the Label Me Lovely Punch, and the blue one at the top of the second photo just uses 2 cut squares.  The others are all stamped directly on top of the masking (I like economical card-making 😉) You might remember the Wisteria Wishes stamp set I've been using recently?  this first card uses the flowers upside down to create trees to make a Christmas card (never too early to cre

June's Class Cards

Image
Hi There Creators I'm sure I say this at the end of each month, but where did May go to?!  can't believe we're almost 1/2 way through the year already. June's classes are on Wednesday 1st at 10.30am and Thursday 2nd at 7pm both in Laanecoorie in my classroom, then also on Saturday 4th at 10.30am in Maryborough. Some of my "new stuff" came, and of course it's hard to resist using it lol This first card uses the gorgeous Starry Sky Ink and Natures Prints bundle of Stamps with matching dies  for a list of what I've used check out this link:  What Heather used   Next up are the fish.... Using A Fish and a Wish Bundle (Stamps and Punch) No new colours in this one, just some lovely brights. Along with the beautiful bright Glossy Dots Assortment.  Check out all the goodies I used here:   What Heather Used I thought I should use a stamp set that has had very little use (at least out of my stamp sets)  In the Moment Stamp Set , I've done a spot of Paper P

Something Saturday - Quilted Card

Image
Hi Creators,  Today I'm showing off how to create a quilted pattern for a card, I recently found a card I'd made some time ago, with this on it, I figured I'd resurrect it as I think it's really pretty! However let's show you the cards..... To make these cards I used the Beautiful Shapes Dies, in particular the largest plain circle, I cut 9 of these from the pretty paper, plus one from scrap paper The Scrap paper one I folded into quarters, then drew the straight lines to create a square (so I could work out what size template square I needed)  measured that up and cut a square from thicker card to be my template: I then folded my pretty paper circles round the square, removed the square and pressed them down properly. Once all were folded I then stuck them onto a spare square of cardstock (I made mine 8cm square as I knew the length of the pattern would be 9cm and I didn't want the card to show underneath) when you're sticking them on, start in the middle

Something Saturday - Card/Gift Card Holder

Image
Hi Creators,  well today I'm showing you a handy card to house a gift card (2 in 1)  It uses some of Stampin' Up!'s gorgeous Artfully Composed Designer Paper , I figured it would be a handy "boy" card (as my boys are getting a bit older now), I've picked out the saying from the Kite Delight Stamp set. So here are the finished cards: To make these to fit onto the front of an A6 card,  cut your Designer Paper to 13.8cm wide, and 12.5cm high, then take 1cm off this bringing it down to 11.5cm. score a 2cm line along the bottom, and fold this over secure in place with a couple of brads either side Add the 1cm strip up a little bit and again secure in place with brads attach the whole lot to your card add other decorations, and slide in your gift voucher card. And that's it!  simple isn't it? Check out what I used here:  What Heather Used If you want to see the video, you can check it out here:  I hope it inspires you to create God Bless love Heather xox

Something Saturday - Wisteria Wishes

Image
Hi There Creators,  Well, I kind of liked this set Wisteria Wishes Bundle when it was available in our pre-order, so having got it I've discovered I really love it!  I've always thought Wisteria was pretty as it hangs down like a vine, but Oh my goodness I love the way this layers up, and can turn into hollyhock type flowers when up the other way round, not to mention Christmas trees (I saw that in the catalogue😉) And funnily enough I wasn't overly enamoured with the Fabulous Frames Dies either, but they've also grown on me, I could see a lot of uses for them when I saw them in the catalogue, but it wasn't one of my top priorities, however in the Annual Catalogue pre-order we're only allowed certain items and these were part of it! Anyway onto what I've created with it I'm so sorry the video seems to be a bit blurry (thought it was my eyes, but even with glasses on it still seems blurry😢) This is the card I created in the video: (of course I had to us
