Hi there Creators Today I thought I'd show off the Suitcase Treat Boxes , I think they'd be perfect to gift jewelry in for Christmas or birthdays. This time I decided to decorate it with the  Marbled Elegance Designer Series Paper , as I figured if I'm giving jewelry then it's likely to be for a girl, and this is very pink!🤣  Also essentials when doing this sort of thing are  Tombow Adhesive , as it gives you just a little bit of wiggle room when sticking down the elements, the  Take your pick tool , so useful for any projects but owing to needing to cut a small section out for the handle to poke through you can screw off the sticky end and and add in ..... Take your pick crafter tips 3 different tips one of which happens to be a blade.  lastly I finished it off with the  Pretty in Pink Bordered Ribbon  (which is definitely still current having checked it!) So as you can see I ended up making a card to match with some of the off cuts that were...

Something Saturday - Cool Altered Gift

Image
Hi there Creators, Not sure about you, but sometimes I find odd things in Charity shops that I think oooo I could do something with that, so of course it comes home with me, and goes in the craft room with an aim to do something with it, months later I remember about it..... I found a couple of chunky wooden sayings, quite a while ago, and finally got round to doing something with them! My something is to attach designer paper to them to make them look prettier (and not so white)  First up though we explored the "intricacies" of the Take your pick tool, I have to admit there is so much to love about this tool and there's a few extra options you might not know about:  Here are the links to check them out: Take your pick tool to begin with, then if you run out of putty (although you get 2 with the tool itself there is the Take your pick Putty refills .  But wait there's more.... there's the Take your Pick Die Brush Tip (with a special mat) and last but not least ...

Something Saturday - Citrus Blooms

Image
Hi There Creators Today I thought it would be fun to try out a technique I haven't done in ages - Paper Tole, using the new Citrus Blooms stamp set and dies.  Every so often I come across a stamp set that inspires me to do a spot of Paper Tole'ing, and this one has lots of dimension to it perfect for this technique. To those of you who are saying "Paper Tole-what-ing?"  Paper Tole is a way of taking a picture and literally adding dimension by having several images of the same picture a and cutting out the various parts of it and laying them up, so the picture literally builds up and gives a 3D type image. I thought it would make a beautiful framed piece (and a nice gift for a friend) - let me know what you think.... I did team it up with the fabulous sayings from Unbounded Love Stamp set (the dies that go with this stamp set are a must have!)   Then to create shiny bits I've added some of the fine tip glue pen which dries shiny clear😍 I also said in the video I...

Something Saturday - Budget Make-it-yourself present

Hi there Creators, Hands up if you like a cheap, classy looking, hand-made Gift🤣 Oh I'm so glad you asked Heather (I can hear you saying, and would you look at that, Christmas is just round the corner - that's convenient! 😃) Ok, so I think this is a great little Christmas gift for anyone who has pens or pencils (well that's just about covered everyone!)  All you need is a tin - in my case the cats finally came through with something useful, Aldi Cat food tins (managed to wean them off the expensive Whiskars, shhh don't tell them, the cans are the same colour), some cardstock, and some Designer Paper. Here goes...... here are the 2 pencil tins I made up, see measurements below   Oh and I promised in the video to show you my can opener, it's a Kleva range one, and it leaves a nice rounded edge to the can Measurements are: (for Aldi Cat can) Inside and outside plain colour (I recommend using a darker colour for the inside, so pencil/pen marks don't show up so q...

Something Saturday - A Useful Gift

Image
Hi There Creators, Today I needed a new notebook for my sermon notes, so I thought what better than to show you how I decorate up notebooks as presies for others, (and myself)  I buy mine from Kmart, but I don't think it would matter where you buy them. And on to the photos:  My notebook started off without the extra elastic, and at the end of my video I added an extra section to show how I add the elastic to it to keep it closed when not in use. But basically you just punch two small holes in the backboard of your notebook (top & bottom) thread through the elastic and tie it tight enough that it will loop round the front and not be baggy.  I've also given my Designer Paper 2 mats one in Copper clay and the other as Pretty Peacock.  It really is a case of measure your notebook and decide on your own sizes!  the last thing I did was add a length of ribbon tied to the top of the spiral binding (make sure you only tie it to one piece of wire (not the double loo...
