Something Saturday - Hooray for Honeycomb Kit

Image
Hi there Creators, Today I thought we'd take a look at one of the new Kits that Stampin' Up! has brought out, it's really fun!, the name "honeycomb" kind of gives it away🤣 There are 9 cards to create, and it's a nice simple kit, would make an excellent gift for anyone who is thinking of starting off with card-making, there's no stamping involved - it's all "stick it together" and everything is included to do this.  At $32 it works out to $3.56 per card (which let's face it is pretty cheap for a card these days!) So here are the cards you can make (3 of each): Don't you just love the matching envelopes? The front of each card has clear embossed shiny bits on it (most obvious on the rainbow card at the top! with my photography) And there you have it, I haven't had the chance to play around and see what else I can create with this kit yet, so if you get it and do play around, let me know what you do! If you missed the video here it

Something Saturday - Stampin' Block Watercolouring

Image
Hi there Creators Today I thought after last week (and the promise in my blog I'd show you how to create the background to the card) that I'd better show you how I created the background to the butterfly card with the bluey/green background. So here goes.... this is the card all finished that I started in the video, figured as I'm on a roll with baby cards for church I'd go for another one 🤣  I've used the Cheerful Daisies Stamp set for the background of the base card and the 3 little flowers in the corner, The colours I used for the watercolouring are Melon Mambo and Gorgeous Grape , Oh and Charming Sentiments Stamp set for the sayings Then I also went on to make this card, which uses Azure Afternoon and Sweet Sorbet for the watercolouring bit, then words from Filled with Happiness stamp set , Trucking Along Stamp se t and Circle sayings stamps for the flowers. So to create this effect all you do is take an E Block , then ink up 1/2 with one colour, the ot

Something Saturday - Paper Butterfly Accents

Image
Hi there Creators Today we're checking out the beautiful Paper Butterfly Accents, not an expensive item, but soooo pretty! Have to admit that mine had done a runner, and I was left with the outside bit that you pop the butterflies out from, which was what I had planned to do something with, but nevertheless kind of irritating that I couldn't find the rest of the pack, which of course turned up after I'd done the video, so in fact I could use some of the butterflies in these cards.  So annoying when you search and search, then they turn up where you've already checked 1/2  a dozen times! However I eventually decided I'd just do the video anyway, as they say in Happy Gilmore, "just play it as it lies"🤣 And here's the first card I created, this one uses the bit you'd usually throw away, as a mask, and I love how it turned out!  I've used daubers to add the colour, as I thought brushes might not work so well, I've also used the Filled with H

Something Saturday - Filled with Happiness Ovals

Image
Hi There Creators Today I thought I'd show you a couple of tricks with the " Filled With Happiness " Stamp Set and Modern Oval Punch .  I'm also using the Water Painters ,and Wink of Stella , and as when you use watercolouring you need an ink that won't move with water, I'm also using Black Stazon for my stamping outlines. Here are the cards I have made up: I made this one up before the video, if you stamp on spare cardstock you can punch out the middle with the Modern Oval punch and layer it up onto your base card. Then I remembered to show how to get just the inside image onto a card (or envelope) and if you punch another oval shape with some of the sticky note paper, you can put that on a card, and just stamp the outside of the stamp. 😉 So then I went on to make this card: combining it with the cute Sale-a-Bration set "Cradled in Love" , which you can pick for free with a $90 order, Woo hoo!  it's only available till end of February as part
