1/2 way through August and I'm organised for September classes - Woah!🤣
These classes are: 1pm Laanecoorie on Friday 4th September, and 10.30am in Maryborough on Saturday 5th September. If you've never joined in one of my classes and are wondering what it's like, I did video some of my last class, you can find it here: Heather's Class 8th August.
Anyway onto the cards we'll be creating in September:
First up this cool fancy fold card using the silver hot foils (cold)🤣 - might look a bit familiar if you watch my videos! The fabulous Gears & Textures Bundle and the Banner Sayings Bundle, click the photo for the full range of what I used, (you can also purchase from that page if you want to)
Next up using some new, some old, the squares are really cool, like the Spotlight on Nature Dies, that I use so frequently, these have the same edging, click on the photo to see all the "ingredients" although the newbie might not show till the catalogue goes live in September!
Oh and this card actually uses the other 1/2 of the squares bundle! It's called Tile Garden Bundle, how pretty is it? In fact I have designed a class for the 19th September using the whole suite, it's so pretty! I'll be doing a blog post soon for that, but I have already started advertising it - if you don't get my emails make sure you sign up so you get the latest info! Again click on the photo to see the goodies used in the card, (and bear in mind the new goodies may not show till the catalogue goes live in September)
Last but not least LOL I just realised I used the same dies for this card too! oops I usually try and use different ones, Ah well - you can tell they'll become a "go to" for me! How darn cute is the little wombat and Kookaburra? I reckon here in Australia this stamp set will be so popular! New stamp set being released in the September to Jan catalogue (again click the photo for goodies used)
And there you have it, the 4 cards we'll be creating in September😍 I hope you can make it along to the class, but if not I hope these inspire you to create.
After last week of using the "hot" foil - cold I've kind of continued the streak, I feel like I can't get enough of the foil, and I'm so in love with the card I created this week (you all know I can't resist Bling anyway......)
Oh and, absolutely no relevance to this Something Saturday, but there is a Paper Sale on currently so if you had your eye on any of the Gorgeous Designer Series papers/ need any A4 Cardstock colours or 2 Tone Cardstock, check the sale out here Paper Sale it's on till the end of the month. - Make sure you sign up for my emails to get the latest updates!
So without further ado, here is the card, sadly photo's really don't do it justice
I have started off with a piece of thick white A4 card, cut this lengthways at 10.5cm, then scored 2, 4, 6, & 8cm in on each end. I've then used the Gears & Textures Bundle to stamp the 3 sections that show once they're folded round to form the pillars at the side of the card
I then cut a piece of smoky slate cardstock 9.2cm x 10cm, embossed it with the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder, using a piece of sponge, lightly brushed glue on, then used the Silver hot foil pressed onto it, and the glue picks up the foil.😃
But wait there's more.....I added some Adhesive sheet to the front of white cardstock, and cut some of the Gears & Textures Dies, then peeled off the protective layer and pressed them onto the foil, and Ta, da... they turn silver - woah, (so easy) and no heat embossing in sight!
I then finished off by brushing on some Basic Gray down the bottom of the embossed/foiled piece, and gluing it all together, oh and the saying/punch is the Banner Sayings bundle
I've got this photo for you to see the "top" of the card too:
Then I also made this card up, this time I didn't cut it down, so the embossed piece is 10.5cm x 13cm the rest of the measurements are the same. Oh and this one uses the beautiful Swirls of Magic embossing folder and the Gold Hot Foil. Also the Begonia Belle Stamp set (this is last month's product of the month, which is still available) to get it you need to purchase $125 of goodies and you then have the option to purchase it for $9.
What do you think? are you game to have a go? Oh and a quick tip, I've taken to storing my scrap hot foils in one of these: Stamp & Die organisers - if you cut yourself a 12" long piece of cardstock by 13cm, and fold it, so you can pop the foil inside the cardstock then pull it in and out of the organiser it makes it really easy to store (see it in use in my video)
Thinking of which if you missed the video here it is:
My May "4 Cards Class" is happening on Friday 1st at 1pm (Laanecoorie) and Saturday 2nd 10.30am in Maryborough. And here are the cards we'll be creating:
The New Catalogue won't be quite released at this point, as it goes live on 5th, but I've sneaked in a couple of new goodies!
The first one uses the most new goodies, Scalloped Blooms Dies, (gee these dies are amazing the largest one is big enough to create a card with (as you can see!) then I've used a new stamp set: Sending Salutations, and also new Designer Paper: Artisian Sketched Garden, (which is a fabulous black and white set)
Next up is this one that inadvertently also uses the Scalloped Blooms dies, in the background as masks (oh and some of the new In colours 😉) Then the stamp set is Forever Florals. and a spot of new Peaceful Pine Ribbon.
This card does inadvertently use a new goodie in it, the White Gel Pen, which Stampin' Up! have tested to make sure it doesn't stop 1/2 way through a line (as a lot of gel pens tend to) , I've also used the gorgeous Sunflower 3D embossing folder and the Banner Sayings bundle (stamp set and punch)
And last but not least, I've used the Addressed to You stamp set , and the Fern & Flora Bundle (newbie) figured this card would work well for a blokey card!
And that's it folks, keep your eyes out for the extra In person or by mail class happening in May (just waiting on the goodies arriving so I can create it)
I hope you can make it to one of the classes (or let me know if you and a friend or two would like to do it but can't make it to one of the scheduled dates, and I can work in a time with you)
Well I have my March 4 Cards Class sorted😃 The Class dates are Friday 6th at 1pm in my classrooom Laanecoorie, and Saturday 7th 10.30am in Maryborough at the Wattle City Church in Argyle Road.
Here is what we'll be making:
I was kind of thinking this one would work for an Easter card, or a baby or kids card, or a cheeky, you're how old? card🤣 so I plan to bring along a variety of saying to go with it (which will probably be retired sayings as I didn't have anything appropriate in my current offering!) it uses the ultra cute Darling Dinos, which has gone onto the retiring list🫤 and is currently cheaper to add to your cart as individual items rather than the bundle check these links out: Darling Dinos Stamp set, Darling Dinos Dies. I've also used the Easter Joy Specialty Designer Series Paper (has a lovely blingy sheen to it) and some of the Stampin' Blends to colour in the dinos and the flowers.
Next up is this nice and simple card, that doesn't have to say Thankyou, there are other sayings in this useful "With You in Mind" stamp set, I love the grungy look the background gets from the Gears & Textures Stamp set, and I've paired it up with the Joyful Squares Dies (may have mentioned this is one of my favourites🤣) and we're using the Square Snippets Designer paper, so everyone will have something different (no 2 squares the same 🤔)
This card was inspired by Stampin' Up!'s Virtual Card Class (totally recommend it and it's still available)! it creates a 3 fold card, but using this absolutely gorgeous Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper Product of the Month (Feb, but may still be available in March) to get this paper you spend $125 and can pick it for $9😃 And the Forever Florals Bundle (that you get as part of the package with the virtual card class, but I believe it will be for sale in March) and I remembered finally to use Vellum!! yay
Then last but not least this card which I was so happy with then I dropped my Stazon ink pad on it 🤦♀️and had to cover the marks with the flower posy, which hopefully enhances it🤣 If you don't think so when you make yours up, you can leave it without the added extra (so long as you don't repeat my boo boo!) It uses the Banner sayings bundle, the Whispers of Texture Specialty paper (that's the white pieces) and the pastels shimmer paper (love this!) and then the Forever Florals dies which is the same set as used on the above card, and it coloured in with the Stampin' blends.
and that's it! I hope you can join us for one of the classes, and if you can't but you're keen to do them, let me know and we'll see if I can pop you in for another time/place.
Today I was playing around with my section of Cute as a Bug Designer Series Paper, initially I'd used a piece and cut it with some rectangle dies, which I thought I'd discovered were discontinued, however, now I've just realised they have a different name to what I thought they were, and yay still current! Textured Note Dies, here it is.....
To be honest it's probably not paper I'd normally use, but I went in a 4 way paper share with others in my team, which was totally worth it to see what the papers were like in the "flesh" as it were! And I'm happy to have a little bit of it to play around with.
I then moved onto the Everyday Arches Dies to cut the one I create in the video, here it is:
The Foam Adhesive Strips are invaluable to propping up the middle piece, then I've added some Adhesive Backed Metallic Gems and used the Banner Sayings bundle with Cajun Craze ink and cardstock (funny I didn't expect to use the stamp set from this bundle as much as I have, I knew I'd use the punch heaps!)
The little bug images in the paper are quite easy to cut out, which I suspect is what I'll be doing with heaps of them🤣
If you missed the video here it is:
I hope this inspires you to create too 😃
And.... I thought I'd give you a little sneak peek of the CreateAlong cards that I'll be making on 21st Feb make sure you sign up for my emails to get the details of how to order your CreateAlong Kit:
Yep I'm organised enough to be able to put up here the cards we'll be creating next month🤩
This month is the start of the new fee structure for my "4 Cards Class" So the class will be $30 or free with a $35 order (my hope is that it will bump up my orders with Stampin' Up!, and get me closer on the path to earning the incentive trip) 🚢
Dates are Friday 6th at 1pm in Laanecoorie, and Saturday 7th at 10.30am in Maryborough.
I'm quite chuffed with this next one, as the "horseshoe" shape is made by positioning the photpolymer stamp in a different way than intended, (which came to me as I was putting it on the block!) now I'm thinking I might need that horse stamp set after all🤣 anyway I've used Addressed to you stamp set, plus the Sweet Jars stamp set for the sayings, the Everyday Arches Dies, and some Stampin' Blends (alcohol markers).
