Christmas Wishes - Green & Red Chain Swap G

  Hi there Creators,

Just in case you're new to this Chain Swap (and have missed the other hops I've done)   I joined in from April to August in something called a "Chain Swap".  

The best way I can describe it is Chinese Whispers for cards.  We took turns starting the chain off with our card, whoever starts it sends it to the next person on the list who CASE's it (Copy And Selectively Edit), they then send their card onto the next person and so it continues.  I'm fascinated to see how the beginning and end results turn out, each of these blog posts have links on them at the bottom to the others in the chain, so let me know what you think, and make sure you check out the whole round!

My Card in this chain is this one:  I decided to focus on the background in the swap I received, and hence built up this card, using the Stitched Stocking Bundle (click on the photo for a page showing you all the goodies I've used)

Something Saturday - Nice & Simple

 Hi there Creators

Today I thought I'd CASE some of the layouts from the catalogue, if you, are wondering what "CASE" ing is, it's where you take (in this case a layout) and make it your own, so potentially you look at the layout and decide to keep it the same, but use different papers/stamps etc, or you might look at the layout and move things around, or cut things on different angles - you get the idea?

In the video I make this card, which I think was a scrapbook layout that showed lots of pieces of Designer Paper cut in straight lengths and laid under the focal photos, I changed it to a card layout and cut the ends of the designer paper to an angle.  My aim was to use the same gorgeous designer paper in all the cards and it's called Whispering Woods (click on the name to see it) It's actually the "give back" product for this catalogue, for every pack sold Stampin' Up! donate $4.25 to a charity (different ones for different countries)  So why not buy a pack? You benefit and a charity benefits! (win, win)  I also broke into my new Adhesive Backed Sparkle Sequins - ooooo just so bling'y💖

Then I couldn't resist playing around with some more of the layouts, and here's what I created, I picked out some matching papers to go with it, Pretty Peacock, Misty Moonlight and Shaded Spruce, I happened to have a couple of pre-foiled sayings so I've used those plus a couple of sayings from Chrismassy sets: Pretty Poinsettia and Stitched Stocking.

I do like that it's multi-purpose not just Christmas Designer Paper (and seeing as greens & turquoises are my fav colours, it probably stands to reason that I'd love it! 🤣)

September 4 Cards Classes for October

 Hi there Creators

Well as we're 1/2 way through September already 😱I thought I'd better get underway with October class cards!

October classes are a week later than normal on Friday 9th at 1pm in my classroom and Saturday 10th 10.30am in Maryborough,

 due to the Loddon Arts Trail happening and I'm displaying/teaching and selling at that in the Laanecoorie Hall. (hopefully it's a nice warm few days from Friday to Sunday)

If you plan to come to one of my classes just let me know in advance so I can have enough paper prepped with me!

Click on each of the cards to see the Supplies used in each one, and to purchase any that you "need"😉

This first one uses uses the fabulous new Box of Joy Bundle, I have to admit I bought this set because of the "Spoiler Alert" plus actually the box is kind of handy too🤣 and in fact the rest of the dies are growing on me too.

Next card - oh my goodness every self-respecting Australian Cardmaker needs this stamp set! Joyful Friends  I reckon they must have doubled the order for Australia!

3rd Card uses the absolutely stunning Luxe Foliage Specialty Designer Series Paper, which is the Product of the month for September (available while stocks last) If you place an order for $125+ then you get the option to pick it for $9😱

and the scored lines don't show up well on the first photo I took (but the foiling does!) so hence this photo too.....

Last but not least, we're back to Christmas and my plan is (she says taking a deep breath) to have my foiling machine ready for people to use and try out (again 😱)  How amazing is this Buffalo Check background?  Everyone's cards will be a little different as there are a few sayings to pick from, but the ribbon and background will be the same, the ribbon is soooo pretty! 💝

And that is it, the 4 cards we'll be creating!

Beautiful Tree Rings - Chain Card Swap F

My card in this swap is this one:  I've used the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper, the Textured Tree Ring Embossing Folder, and I couldn't resist using my Hot foiling machine with the Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies and a spot of Gold hot foil rolls.  Oh my goodness the foiling just lifts it another level!

So now go and check out the others in the chain, I love the variety and inspiration that everyone has gathered from the card that was mailed to them.

Something Saturday - Fancy Fold Pull Out Gift Card, Card

Yep I managed to get "Card" in the title twice! Go Me!🤣 

I had seen a clip online ages ago, forgot to write down instructions, and lost it (of course) but the pull out bit kind of stuck in my head, so I figured I'd play around with it, and this is the result.

I think it's really effective, but actually remarkably simple to do.  Then after having got 1/2 way through the video I thought Oooo this would make a great gift card - card! so it kind of morphed.......

However I promised the measurements so they are below the photos

Here's the first card I made before the video, Click on the photos to open a link that will show you all the "ingredients" (you can then pick and choose which you need!)

The outside:

Then you open it up

and finally you pull the flap......

then the card I made in the video, where it gets changed to a gift card holder: (same sequence)  how amazing is this All Wrapped Up Specialty Designer Series paper?

And now onto the measurements....

You will need:

• A4 cardstock sheet cut to full length (27.7cm) x 14.8cm, then scored at 10.5cm, 21cm and 26cm
• Matching Cardstock cut to 10.5cm x 14.8cm, scored at 4cm
• Cardstock piece for the mechanism 11.5cm x 10cm score at 2cm (so you're left with 8cm flat bit)
• and if you're turning it into a gift card holder you'll need another piece 6cm x 11.5cm

Then Designer Paper:

• 10cm x 14.3cm for front
• two of 3.5cm x 14.3cm
• two of 4.5cm x 14.3cm
• 3cm x 14.3cm 
• one more piece 14.3cm x ? to put on the inside flap, or something else decorative (like my pumpkins cut out)

Something Saturday - watch out Heather's Scrapbooking again!🤣

Hi there Creators,

Yep I'm back at it, I figure I really would like to scrapbook the photos I've had sitting on my desk since last November, which is from my trip to the US.  And I'm proud to say that the 2 pages I did were only supposed to hold 5 photos total and I've managed to squeeze in 11🤣

I have a feeling it's a little like space in the house, Tom (hubby) always accuses me of needing to fill up every available space (I don't consciously do it, it just seems to happen!)

Anyway back to the scrapbooking I've used a kit that has now retired (yes it took me that long to get round to using it)  But I figure that there are a heap of the kits all different designs, so you pick something that matches what you're going to be scrapbooking about, check them out here: Scrapbook Workshop Kits (plus there are some bargain kits in the retiring goodies down the bottom of this page)

However let me show you how my pages turned out.....

I'm starting up a scrapbooking evening once a month at the Kangaroo Flat Library, the first session will be on Thursday 24th September at 7pm, and my aim is that everyone will complete 2 pages.  I didn't add anything except photos (and obviously glue) to this kit to create these 2 pages, and I was able to use some of the left over bits to mount the extra photos onto.  My fav glue to use is the Stampin' Seal, it does take a bit of getting used to, but once you're there I do find it was worth the perseverance!
