Something Saturday - Cascading Pleated Fold Card

Image
Hi There Creators, I promised when I was showing off my swap cards from OnStage that I'd work out how to create a couple of cards I received. So, here we go, I have discovered they're called Cascading Pleated Fold Cards! (good start) Here are my 2 cards I made using this technique, I figured I could have a go at both landscape and portrait cards. 😍 The first one is made using the absolutely gorgeous Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper . It took a bit of cutting to get it right as I wanted each scene in front to echo the scene behind, but I think I got it! Then the card I made up in the video ended up like this, I've used the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper (which is happily continuing onto the next catalogue!), and the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle (again continuing on)   Although Sam (Mr 13 year old) did ask what flavour ice-cream is that meant to be?  I said Chocolate & Boysenberry (Hummm, Ok Mum....) 🤣 Anyway on to the measurements.... I worked out that

Something Saturday - Pop out Concertina Christmas Tree Card

Image
Hi There Creators Today I'm showing you how to create a card that has a pop-out element in the middle which just happens to be a Christmas tree (surprise, surprise as it's almost Christmas!) I've used the fabulous Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper, which sadly is on the retiring list 😔 Here is the middle of the first card I created before the video: and the outside of the card..... I wasn't 100% happy with the tree inside the card of that one, I'd used a 1" scoring gap, and I think it was too much, so this one I did in the video I used a 3/4" score gap, which I'm much happier with, and it left me room at the top for a star😁, which I got from the Handcrafted Elements Dies (plus the ornament I used on the front of the card) I think this designer paper is so beautiful, love the brightness, it really works for anything, doesn't have to be Christmas!, although looking at this photo, I'm thinking I should bling up the ornament with

Something Saturday - Corner Fold Pop Out card

Image
Hi there Creators,  well today is an original design by me, I've called it "Corner Fold Pop Out Card".  Last weekend was our big Multi-team weekend Creative Connections event, and I was doing a presentation on the Bright & Beautiful suite , and taught this card at the end. In our video today I've used the Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper which is the same one I was using in my Something Saturday card last week.  I love that is has a Vanilla Base colour rather than white - gives my white cardstock a bit of a rest! 😁  Anyway let's show you the photos then instructions after.... So this is the card I taught at the Creative Connections event:   One of my friends suggested I should decorate the front of the card, so the one I did in the video now has this on the front of it:  Then when you open it up, the daisies pop out, I felt this paper went well with the Cheerful Daisies Dies, so I've used the dies to die cut direct from the Designer Paper   And yo

Hydrangea Hill Cards for May

Image
Hi there Creators the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper is so beautiful that I thought I'd make it a feature of the cards for our May class, plus I've added in a couple of new items......😊(which will be available from 4th May, yay!) This first card uses some of the new Pale Papaya open weave ribbon (very pretty) and it's funny as when I first saw this colour I really didn't think much of it, but it's not as wishy washy as I thought it looked, it actually has a nice peachy tone to it.  Oh and the saying is from a new set too called "Elegantly Said" The second card is this one, again new goodies, I've used some of the Pale Papaya card behind the saying, then there's also new stamp set and punch: Flowers of Friendship Stamps and matching Flowers & Leaves Punch (I like punches!)  and lastly there's the new Linen Specialty Paper, this was an interesting one, I didn't realise it's sticky backed, I rather like the way it allows the pa
