Something Saturday - Hooray for Honeycomb Kit

Image
Hi there Creators, Today I thought we'd take a look at one of the new Kits that Stampin' Up! has brought out, it's really fun!, the name "honeycomb" kind of gives it away🤣 There are 9 cards to create, and it's a nice simple kit, would make an excellent gift for anyone who is thinking of starting off with card-making, there's no stamping involved - it's all "stick it together" and everything is included to do this.  At $32 it works out to $3.56 per card (which let's face it is pretty cheap for a card these days!) So here are the cards you can make (3 of each): Don't you just love the matching envelopes? The front of each card has clear embossed shiny bits on it (most obvious on the rainbow card at the top! with my photography) And there you have it, I haven't had the chance to play around and see what else I can create with this kit yet, so if you get it and do play around, let me know what you do! If you missed the video here it

Cards for May classes

Image
Hi there Creators It's that time again, where I show off next months class cards.  The class dates are Wednesday 3rd May 10.30am in Laanecoorie, Thursday 4th at 7pm in Laanecoorie, then Saturday 6th at 10.30am in Maryborough.  New Catalogues should be with everyone by now, if you don't have one and want one, get in touch! Just a heads up that this month will still be $20 for the 4 cards, however due to rising costs I do need to increase my prices, and I'll be increasing by $1 per card - so $24 for the 4 cards.  Here goes..... First up I've used the new Zoo Crew (that will be available from 2nd May) to create this cute card Then after showing a friend how to use these Give it a Whirl Dies the other day I figured we should do this in class too (they're so much fun!)  I've teamed it up with Alphabest and Waves of Inspiration so the wheel says U R Totally Awesome, as it goes round Back to new stuff again, and this time the gorgeous Cheerful Daisies Stamp set (it

Something Saturday - Snow & Mice

Image
Hi there Creators Snow way - Snow and Mice!  (been waiting to say that for ages 🤣) Ok, this week I thought I'd show off the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint , it's so fascinating!  to begin with it's this watery liquid, that you can dot/draw on, then magic happens when you heat it up with the heat tool, and it becomes this puffy snow stuff!  I think it works well with the Caroling Mice host set (you can only get this set if you purchase over $250 of goodies or host a party/ gather up orders to get you over $250) Here's the 2 cards I made before the video: This one first, which is kind of hard to photograph the white snow on white card (umm didn't think that one through lol)  So then I got smart and went with night of navy (which makes sense as I'm envisioning the mouse singing in the night)  I've coloured a bit of green watercolour pencil into the gaps in the snow to give the ground a bit more of a grassy effect.  I thought the Merry Melody embossing folder

Something Saturday - Scroll Cards

Image
Hi there Creators, Yep I've jumped on the band wagon, after having seen these cards all around figured I should have a go myself! (and in the process, of course, show you😊) My first card I wanted to use the map vellum from Layering Designs Vellum , and create a "journey through life" kind of card.  If you check my blog regularly you'll know that I love this wave stamp from Waves of Inspiration Stamp set After this I moved on to Designer Papers, bearing in mind that we have a heap of stuff retiring at the end of June, only 6 more days!, and some is reduced up to 50%!!  if you haven't checked it out, check it out here:  Retiring goodies Having said that, this first one was made with some of the new SunPrints Designer Paper - love this colour! I thought it might be a nice card to send off to my step Dad who's currently in hospital.  Then I did move onto the retiring papers...... the Flowering Fields Designer Paper is so pretty!  Gotta love this bling too! Cards for May

Image
Hi there Creators Well thought I'd better share the cards we'll be making in May at my classes, which incidentally the class dates are:  Wednesday 4th at 10.30am, Thursday 5th at 7pm (both in Laanecoorie) and the Maryborough class is on Saturday 7th at 10.30am. I'm hoping we can gather a few more people for the Maryborough class, so do tell your friends!   We'll be making 4 cards, (with envelopes) for $20 Let's kick off the "show & tell"..... this first one uses the brand new Wisteria Wishes (oh this set is rapidly becoming one of my favourites!)  Also some a couple of the new In Colours (can you spy which ones?) Next up, I can't resist the pull of the ocean..... with Waves of Inspiration (and another new In Colour) Number 3 (if you know me you'll know I love all things gold🤣)  This uses the gilded leafing, along with the quite cool Beautiful Shapes dies, and Biggest Wish Stamps Last but not least I've dug out the Celebrate Sunflowers Sta

Something Saturday - Rolling Waves Card

Image
Hi there Creators, So, today I was showing how to make the most of the Stamparatus and create a Rolling Waves card, using the main waves image in the Waves of Inspiration stamp set , and repeating it to create that look of a wave a surfer might go through. Here are the 2 cards I made top one is the one I created with what I made in the video, bottom one was my initial go at it.  I mentioned at the end of the video I might add another colour with it, which is what I did and I love the blend of colours, even though they're on top of each other Anyway how did I do it?, I took a couple of photos for you in case you didn't see the video I lined up the stamp onto the stamparatus as far right as I could, inked it up, then used a dauber to blurr the edges, so they wouldn't be so "sharp" once stamped, then stamped my strip of cardstock, once. Next I moved the plate to the next position along the top rung, and repeated the process all along till I had a whole line  If you
