Thankyou for joining me today, I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, since 2008. My blog will show you how to make cards and projects using Stampin' Up!'s fabulous products. And occasionally random extra stuff (that's the way I roll 🤣) Please do sign up to receive my emails, so you get my latest info.
Today's the day! If you ordered a kit, I hope you find it easy enough to follow along. If you didn't order a kit, don't forget to next time! I hope you all got the email I sent out a couple of days ago with the measurements (again if you got a kit it should all be pre-cut for you).
NB: If you haven't signed up for my email list do so now, so you don't miss out on anything!
Here are the cards I create in the video, click on this link to see or order all the goodies I used; CreateAlong Goodies. Video link below in case you missed it.
then I also made up these ones, as you can see one doesn't get cut
And the video link: I hope you have created along with me, make sure you send me a photo of what you made, I love seeing what people have created😍
I also mentioned that I'm happy to do up 1/2 packs of these bundled together. I have worked out the price to be $40 plus postage if I have to mail it out to you. Let me know if you are interested in this.
Also if you're keen to use these, but lack inspiration, I'll be offering a class (see details below the photos).
For these pictures I have just laid the pieces on top of the base cards, not stuck down, but just to check layouts, I've added a bit of the Real Red Shiny ribbon in the first one, that is going to be part of the class in November (details below)

Today I'm showing off this Time for Celebration Mix & Match Ephemera Pack because I discovered something really cool...... They're sticky backed! I totally recommend having your Take Your Pick tool handy for removing the backing. Here are the links for products I've used in these cards:
I also added some Rhinestones to the ones in the first 2 photos (let's face it gotta have bling!)💎
Then I got carried away and made a heap more...... I pressed out all the images then put them into piles of things I thought would go well together (Christmas was the easiest pile 🤣) But it's really cool that there's a bit of everything in the Ephemera.
Today we're onto the last of the 3 kits I bought a while back, this one is Your Day to Shine card Kit. Again it's a pretty one, no stamp set this time hence it's cheaper at only $25, but you still get to make 9 cards with it! which at $2.78 per card is still cheaper for a decent card than what you'd buy in a shop! Plus you have the Crafting fix time and you're able to say "yes, I made this"😍
So here are the 3 styles of card it officially creates, although I have changed a few elements around, so if you do want to see the proper "official" way click on the link above 🤣
this first card is a mini card (with matching envelope) once again beautiful bling with these cards! This card is pretty much true to their suggestion
This next card got turned around a bit as I wasn't terribly happy with their design, I didn't think the butterfly stood out so well on their card (I could be wrong - seems unlikely but you never know.....🤣)
And this last one I had to cut the foliage as I was a bit disappointed that on my card it would have pretty much been hidden by the blue flowers.
Anyway I also created a couple of other cards using these scraps:
Have to admit every time I play with the Ephemera packs I end up getting really into it, I think it's because they're so much fun to pair up together! (and cheap at only $14 a pack, you get heaps to play with!)
Anyway if you missed the video, here it is:
I hope this inspires you to either purchase a kit or play with what you already have
Today as I was cutting things with my Paper Trimmer I thought Oh I wonder if I've ever taught people how to create frames with their trimmer, so just in case I haven't, here we go.........
In the video I simply show how to position the Trimmer and cardstock to be able to cut out a rectangle from the middle of it and create a frame, I find it really handy to do this, you can create a great effect without lots of bulk, for example with this card, if I was to use single layers it would end up with 7 layers and fairly heavy and bulky, in some respects it's like faux matting!
And then on the plus side you end up with the inside pieces to also use...... Love conserving cardstock! These 2 cards use 3 of the new In Colours for this year: Shy Shamrock, Petunia Pop and Pretty in Pink, so of course they needed the new In Colour bling: In Colour Shimmer Gems. And the Stamp/Punch set I used is Keeping Tabs.
I then may have got a little carried away, with making cards using the Ephemera Packs, and creating frames...And the funny thing is I didn't really think I'd like the Ephemera Packs when I first saw them, but gee they're addictive once you get creating 🤣 paired up with various bling, my favourite currently is the Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins, Oh my goodness I love the colours in them, and the fact they don't have a hole in the middle makes them look like gems and not sequins! And I used the Simply Said stamp set that is recommended to go with the ephemera packs, it has a fabulous selection of sayings 😃
If you missed the video here it is:
I hope this inspires you to have a go at frames with your Paper Trimmer.
This year Stampin' Up! have made a big deal of these ephemera packs (pronounced EFF-EM-ER-RA) and I did wonder what the heck it meant, so courtesy of Google: Ephemera: Something of no lasting significance.
usually used in plural. 2. ephemera plural : paper items (such as
posters, broadsides, and tickets) that were originally meant to be
discarded after use but have since become collectibles.
If you have a catalogue you'll find them on page 19, with a great stamp set too, but, as you'll see you can make this work without ink or a stamp in sight......
I may have sunk my teeth into all of the packs (and both sets of cards)😁 I had so much fun creating with these (which really surprised me). As one of the ladies I was chatting to about them said, "they'd make a fabulous gift for someone!" And considering the packs only cost $14 each, it's not a huge outlay either.
Here's what I came up with so far: Oh and I couldn't resist adding some bling, I went simple with the Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
