Something Saturday - Cascading Pleated Fold Card

Image
Hi There Creators, I promised when I was showing off my swap cards from OnStage that I'd work out how to create a couple of cards I received. So, here we go, I have discovered they're called Cascading Pleated Fold Cards! (good start) Here are my 2 cards I made using this technique, I figured I could have a go at both landscape and portrait cards. 😍 The first one is made using the absolutely gorgeous Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper . It took a bit of cutting to get it right as I wanted each scene in front to echo the scene behind, but I think I got it! Then the card I made up in the video ended up like this, I've used the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper (which is happily continuing onto the next catalogue!), and the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle (again continuing on)   Although Sam (Mr 13 year old) did ask what flavour ice-cream is that meant to be?  I said Chocolate & Boysenberry (Hummm, Ok Mum....) 🤣 Anyway on to the measurements.... I worked out that

Interactive Card Class for July

Image
Hi There! Well continuing on with the theme of "Christmas in July" I have 2 Spinning wheel Cards to create.  the class date is Thursday 26th July at 10.30am and 7.30pm. Or you can order a kit from me, I can't stamp the images for you, but I can cut and organise everything and send instructions, both cards could be done with the same stamp set, or you could substitute one of your own. First up is this one made with the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp set , I'll add a short video at the end, so you can see how the wheel at the side turns and you get 4 different pictures through the hole. (the Eskimo girl, A gingerbread man, Reindeer and Santa)     This other card uses the cute Seasonal Chums stamp set and matching dies Seasonal Tags Framelits The little tree turns round to reveal the cute deer that's in this stamp set and the snowman. And to see them in action, check out this short video: I hope you can join me to create these cards (class cost $20

Christmas in July (next months classes)

Hi Everyone, well finally, been meaning to do this for ages! we're going to do Christmas in July classes! This post is for my 4 Cards class, which will be on Saturday 14th July at 10am in Maryborough (school holidays hence pushed back a week)  Then Wednesday 18th July at 10.30am and 7.30pm in Laanecoorie in my classroom. Here are the cards in no particular order, all very traditional Green and Red colours! lets face it when you think of Christmas those are the immediate colours that come to mind!  Alright so this first card uses the new Christmas stamp set "Mistletoe Season", I love the way there is a gap in the mistletoe (or in my case holly - red berries) for the ribbon to sit in, and it is a 2 step stamp set, the greenery has 2 stamps, and the bow is made up of 2 stamps too. Quite like the fun writing font too!  How cute is the snowman with his little bunny peeping out behind?  This is the Seasonal Chums Stamp set, which has been around a while, but I've

Subtle Embossing Folder

Image
Hi Everyone, I've had a couple of questions about the new Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder , Oh there's a mouthful and 1/2!  I'll just call it the Subtle embossing folder from now on...lol The photos in the catalogue and online are very uninspiring!  however if you like texture, you're going to love this, to make it show up in photos, I inked up the folder with a bit of Crumb Cake ink , so you can actually see it. I inked up both sides so I could check both out, as it does look different on each side (subtle'y different - oh I know *groan*) So then I thought I'd better make something with it too to show it off, pretty much anything that would look nice with a bit of texture would look good with this I reckon! I've teamed it up with the Tropical Chic bundle , and I'm so pleased with the way it turned out, I even got a "that's not bad, I don't mind it" from the hubbie! (high praise lol) What do you t

3D train

Image
Hi there, well with Bendigo Craft Alive looming on the horizon this weekend (by the way - watch Weekend Sunrise as they will be broadcasting from the show!! let me know if you see us on it!) Anyway, as I was saying with Craft Alive coming up, I was turning my mind to doing some 3D type items, I'd seen someone else had made a train using the Wood Crate Framelit dies , she'd used the really cute Animal Outing to put the kangaroo, giraffe, and Rhino in the carriages.  However I seem to be distinctly lacking in animal stamps :(  but then I remembered...... Yes! the Cookie Cutter Christmas has a reindeer in it! Cut the reindeer and Santa out with the matching Cookie Cutter Builder Punch (yay for punches!)  I was so pleased with the way this turned out, even Tom (the hubbie) was impressed! (he's insistent that I tell you the "smoke" was his idea lol) although I was the one that had to make it happen! I hope that people will like this at the show.  Do leave m

what have I been making recently?

Image
Hi there, well I wonder what I have been making recently lol!  A quick trip into the craft room, a few photos later and yep I have been making things (oh thank goodness for that lol) First of all I thought I'd share this ultra cute little apron holder I made, it could hold some greetings cards, or business cards..... It's made using the Apron Builder framelits, and even though I'm not the worlds greatest cook, I still think it's cute (and I do wear an apron quite often when I am cooking - mainly to stop oil splatter!) Next up I thought I should make a couple of framed pieces for Craft Alive Bendigo (which is coming up soon 17-19th June) firstly using the new absolutely stunning Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper  Oh my! it really doesn't need extras to this paper, wow! Alright last thing for today!  Another framed piece, using the beautiful "Share What You Love Designer Series Paper" Again it doesn't really need adorning
