Something Saturday - Hooray for Honeycomb Kit

Image
Hi there Creators, Today I thought we'd take a look at one of the new Kits that Stampin' Up! has brought out, it's really fun!, the name "honeycomb" kind of gives it away🤣 There are 9 cards to create, and it's a nice simple kit, would make an excellent gift for anyone who is thinking of starting off with card-making, there's no stamping involved - it's all "stick it together" and everything is included to do this.  At $32 it works out to $3.56 per card (which let's face it is pretty cheap for a card these days!) So here are the cards you can make (3 of each): Don't you just love the matching envelopes? The front of each card has clear embossed shiny bits on it (most obvious on the rainbow card at the top! with my photography) And there you have it, I haven't had the chance to play around and see what else I can create with this kit yet, so if you get it and do play around, let me know what you do! If you missed the video here it

Something Saturday - Watercolouring Part 2: Watercolour Lifting

Image
Hi there Creators, Well today I've continued on with the watercoloured pieces I produced last Saturday and now I'm showing off "Watercolour Lifting"  I don't recall trying this before, but the basic jist of it is: Create a watercoloured background and let dry completely Stamp over top using versamark dust over with clear embossing powder & heat set it spray water over and blot off to remove some of the colour, until the clear embossed images stand out (the colour under the embossed image will remain "full strength") And that's it in a nutshell, here are the 2 cards I created using the watercoloured backgrounds I created last week:  This first one uses Natures Prints Stamps to create the collage of leaves in the background, then I've used the Celebrating You stamps for the sayings in both cards, then this one I also used the gorgeous Iridescent Pastel Pearls (very pretty!)   Then this is the one I made up in the video, and I finally found a

Something Saturday - Faux Tiling

Image
Hi There Creators, Well somewhere I saw someone had done Faux Tiling, and it kind of fascinated me, so I've been experimenting...... to begin with I wasn't impressed with the results and eventually I realised that it's because I like to see the grouting looking white, or at least, contrasting with the "tiles", so I discovered that if I added extra colour to the background it worked for me 😃  enter, Watercolour shapes stamp set , perfect to give a smidgen of colour! Here are the 2 cards I completed before the video to show off the technique, I used the large rectangle watercolour shape for these. The top card uses Edens Garden , Jar of Flowers , and Charming Sentiments Stamp sets and the bottom card uses the Charming Sentiments , and Painted Poppies Stamp sets (along with the Watercolour Shapes) Then I also made this one, which I'm not so keen on, I used the circle watercolour shape for the background on this one, and moved onto Good Feelings Stamp set, an

Cascade Card (Something Saturday)

Image
Hi there Creators, Well today I'm showing how to make a really simple cascade card, once you've got the dimensions worked out you can make it in any size. I couldn't remember the name of this to begin with and waterfall card, accordion card both came to mind, but after a spot of googling, it's actually called a Cascade card! Here is the finished article (which will be off to my friends who are getting married this afternoon, so they shouldn't be able to see this post!)   As you can see I ended up having to create an envelope too for the card, as it was just too big for a standard envelope (plus this dresses the outside up nicely!)😉  How gorgeous is this Edens Garden Paper? and the meadow dies I think go nicely with it.  I couldn't resist using some of my favourite Garden Gems too (sad to think at the end of the year the Eden's garden paper and gems will retire 😢)  So if you want some get them now!! See this link for the products I used in this card:  What

Eden's Garden Cotton Paper

Image
Hi there Creators Well this isn't exactly my "Something Saturday" as it will be aired a little sooner thanks to Craft Alive Bendigo.  So if you're joining me for the first time from Craft Alive or GICS, Welcome!, and welcome back anyone who's been here before, I'm so thrilled you choose to see my blog posts and videos 😊 In my video this week I have gone through the Eden's Garden Collection of products and the Suite Sensation I currently have on offer (if you want to see the info about that, click here: Eden's Garden Suite Sensation Blog Post . Today's post is about the card I make in the video using the cotton paper, I'll admit that I wasn't 100% sure how to use it to begin with, so I googled and pinterest'd it and found a video by Wow Nola Creations, using the paper as a special textured background so I had a go, and changed it slightly, and voila:  Funnily enough the shabby chic thing doesn't usually do much for me, but I think

Image
Hi there Creators Gee Whizz haven't the months flown by!  Not long till Christmas again (I love making Christmas Cards!) Anyway Novembers cards are sparkly and 2 of them Christmassy 😃 I'll start with them.....   See the links below each card for the individual products (codes and prices) I've used for each card and at the bottom I'll pop the times/day of classes:   I do love this angel from Angels of Peace Stamp Set, she feels really serene to me, I've paired her up with the lovely leaves die from Artistic Dies, and some of the stunning Expressions in Ink specialty Paper.  Not forgetting a bit of Wink of Stella for glittery wings😉   Check out this link to see what I used for this card: Peaceful Pieced Angel   This other Christmas Card Ive finally got around to using a couple of things I haven't used much, the Parisian Flourish 3D embossing folder and the Stars are Shining bundle, I've heat embossed round the edge and combined my gold and silver powder to
