Something Saturday - Hooray for Honeycomb Kit

Image
Hi there Creators, Today I thought we'd take a look at one of the new Kits that Stampin' Up! has brought out, it's really fun!, the name "honeycomb" kind of gives it away🤣 There are 9 cards to create, and it's a nice simple kit, would make an excellent gift for anyone who is thinking of starting off with card-making, there's no stamping involved - it's all "stick it together" and everything is included to do this.  At $32 it works out to $3.56 per card (which let's face it is pretty cheap for a card these days!) So here are the cards you can make (3 of each): Don't you just love the matching envelopes? The front of each card has clear embossed shiny bits on it (most obvious on the rainbow card at the top! with my photography) And there you have it, I haven't had the chance to play around and see what else I can create with this kit yet, so if you get it and do play around, let me know what you do! If you missed the video here it

Something Saturday - Pop out Concertina Christmas Tree Card

Image
Hi There Creators Today I'm showing you how to create a card that has a pop-out element in the middle which just happens to be a Christmas tree (surprise, surprise as it's almost Christmas!) I've used the fabulous Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper, which sadly is on the retiring list 😔 Here is the middle of the first card I created before the video: and the outside of the card..... I wasn't 100% happy with the tree inside the card of that one, I'd used a 1" scoring gap, and I think it was too much, so this one I did in the video I used a 3/4" score gap, which I'm much happier with, and it left me room at the top for a star😁, which I got from the Handcrafted Elements Dies (plus the ornament I used on the front of the card) I think this designer paper is so beautiful, love the brightness, it really works for anything, doesn't have to be Christmas!, although looking at this photo, I'm thinking I should bling up the ornament with

Something Saturday - A little something with Vellum

Image
Hi there Creators A friend of mine, when I asked her if there was anything she'd like to see on my videos commented that vellum would be good (how it turns white when pressure is added to it) For those of you who have done Pergamano work you'll know all about this, and Pergamano is all about vellum and the stunning effects you can get with it although it is somewhat painstaking! (it's been quite a few years since I did Pergamano work), however I happy to say there is a much quicker and simpler way to get some really cool effects with vellum 😃 First up, I had (before the video) made up this card, as you can see I've used the Wintry 3D embossing folder to create the snowflakes using vellum, I've actually used the Iridescent rhinestones for the 'bling' but coloured them with the dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blend (bear in mind the Stampin' blends are alcohol based so don't rub off if you use them to colour embellishments or ribbon).  Also if you
