Something Saturday - DSP & Blends

 Hi There Creators

Today I thought I'd show off an idea that Claire our Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Development Manager showed us in a workshop the other day, I took it a bit further in one of my cards, let me know which card is your favourite!

If you'd like to see all the goodies I used on these cards click here:  DSP & Blends Turtles Cards

Here are the cards I ended up creating The first 2 I've just used the blends to go round each of the images on the designer paper, I really love the way the images get highlighted from it, almost a "stained glass effect"

This first card I also used the blend on the white card base under the Designer Paper to give a border

This second card I used the Blend around the edge of the Designer paper to draw a line  (I did use a ruler to do this!) again to create a border.

Then this last one I've gone round the edges again with the darker Pool Party blend, but then blended in the lighter one in all the gaps. I actually did go back around with the darker colour again at the end, and also used a ruler to draw the line around the edges of both the base card and the Designer Paper, I'm quite happy with the result

Cards for February

Hi there,

It's been hard trying to make up my mind what to teach in February!  However I think I've narrowed it down lol!  Just in case you don't know, this time of year with Stampin' Up! is Sale-a-Bration, when you order $90 of goodies, you get to pick a FREE Sale-a-Bration product, this year Stampin' Up! have also produced a couple of $180+ Sale-a-Bration products.

So these are the cards that made it.....
Card #1 uses possibly my 2 favourite sets (Sale-a-Bration and from the Occasions Catalogue) and my favourite colouring medium!  So allow me to introduce you to the Petal Palette Bundle, and the Happy Wishes Sale-a-Bration set to get this set for FREE you'll need to place a $180+ order.  Love that the roses are cut out with dies!, and I've coloured them in with the fabulous Stampin' Blends.
Card #2 mixes a couple of stamp sets, I think I've shown it before on this blog, it uses the Bubble Over stamp set, and the Fruit Basket Stamp set, some of the smoky slate gingham ribbon, and the absolutely gorgeous Myths and Magic Washi tape:
Card #3 I was thinking that Valentines day is in Feb, although some of the classes will miss it, so this can be adapted to a birthday/ anniversary or whatever you'd like card :)  This card uses the really pretty Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (just love the gold foil in this paper), and also back to the Petal Palette Stamp set for the wording:
And last but not least, I've gone with a "boy card" although it could be girl depending on the colours you choose!  This uses the Sale-a-bration stamp set Epic Celebrations (having 3 boys, I felt this one was a absolute must for me to get!)  When you purchase $90 of goodies, you could get this set for FREE! the set also has wording that says "You're Awesome".

So..... dates for classes making these cards in February are: Saturday 3rd Feb - Maryborough 10am, Wednesday 7th February - Bendigo 10.30am (all being well, but just check with me a few days prior),  Wednesday 14th Feb - Laanecoorie 7.30pm.   In case you haven't been to one of these classes before I charge $15 to cover the cost of cards/envelopes and instructions, or you can choose to purchase $50+ and have the class for free!  Do let me know if you plan to make it to any of the classes, I'd love to see you there!

I hope these cards inspire you to create!
God Bless love

Stampin' Blends (in the normal way)

Hi Everyone,
Well I know I wrote about the new Stampin' Blends the other day, but can't resist sharing some more creations with you! The "normal" way is where you use light plain cardstock (I've used Whisper White, stamp an image with Memento Black ink, and start colouring) As one of my favourite sets is Remarkable You Stamp set, I've gone with the flowers from it, I'll start with my favourite, the Lilies:
this one uses the Daffodil Delight combo blends, Calypso coral combo Blends, and the Pumpkin Pie Combo Blends, and of course the Old Olive Combo Blends for the stems!

Next up the waterlily type flower (I'm sure someone will know what it is!), this one again uses the Daffodil Delight, but then I've used some Pink Pirouette to create the delicate colour in the bottom of the flower, then some Old Olive for the stems again.....

And moving onto the last flower in the stamp set, reminds me of a magnolia flower (although I'm pretty sure if it is that I'll have coloured it in wrong lol), so this one I've used again the Old Olive Blends for the stems, then the Bermuda Bay Blends for the base of the flower blending into the Rich Razzleberry Blends.

Which one was your favourite?

Stay tuned for more Stampin' Blend ideas, Oh and before you go I just wanted to share with you one of my favourite things about the Stampin' Up! Stampin' Blends. You can buy them individually for $7.75, or as a duo with the light and dark of that colour for $15.50.  I really love this versatility as you often use one more than the other, and I think for the price they are really amazing value!
So there's my bob's worth for today :)

I hope it inspires you to want to give them a go too, and start building up your collection. Let me know if you have any questions.

God Bless love
Heather

New Today (1st November 2017)

Well!  Very happy to say that Stampin' Up! have bought out a  new range of colouring tools called Stampin' Blends, hopefully this link works for the Utube video that has been released for it!

U tube video about Stampin' Blends
When mine came a couple of weeks ago I'd also ordered myself the Just Add colour Specialty Designer Series Paper, here's what I created:
yes it took a while but so satisfying to just sit and colour in, loved the way the colours will just blend into each other, so you can create the light and dark shades, and because they're alcohol markers you can just keep going and going with out the paper balling up. Even Tom (husband) was impressed (and it takes a fair bit to impress him, after so many years of Stampin' Up! lol)
Check them out here: Heather's Stampin' Up! shop
Let me know what you think!
I hope this inspires you to create,
God bless love
