Well today I'm showing off a way to use templates in the Annual Catalogue (page 24) to create a couple of Men's cards
Just in case you don't have a catalogue here it is, the 2 I chose to use are the circled ones.
And here are the cards:
I would have done my usual link that gives you all the goodies I've used, but for some reason I can't get it to work, so see below for the individual links:
Well we're 1/2 way through the month already, and Wow I now have 2 separate card Classes sorted for September! the first is our regular class, which is what this post is about, the other is the special Gingerbread Man & Sophisticated Alternative Cracker class (click the link to see, should open in a new window).
Anyway back to our regular class for September, which will be on Friday 5th; 1pm in my classroom and Saturday 7th; 10.30am Maryborough Class cost $25 for the 4 cards.
As we'll be 4 months out from Christmas, we'll be making one Christmas card at this class (2 in Oct, 3 in Nov, 4 in Dec) π gotta work your way up to it!
So, by popular demand I've created this little guy with the sliding "behind".
Next up using new goodies is this elegant sympathy card, although it could easily be changed to other sentiments using the same Unbounded Love stamp set, the new Peace on Earth dies & matching Peaceful Greenery embossing folder are very elegant! To see all the goodies I've used click here: Unbounded Peace Sympathy (the details for the new dies & embossing folder may not be present on the link until the catalogue goes live on 3rd September)
Next up I thought it might be prudent to do something for Fathers Day as it'll be just after the classes! Having said that if you're coming and you don't have a Father around anymore, this can be easily changed to a "thankyou" handy man card, let's face it if you're a card giver, chances are it'll be "handy"π€£ pun intended, to have a card for this purpose. I've used the Trusty tool stamp set, see all the goodies I've used for this card here: Handy Dad
Last but not least is this pretty card using the Joined Together 3D embossing folder, see all the goodies I've used here: Joined Together Patchwork
I hope you can join us to create these, make sure you book your spot!
Well today I just had to show off this idea I had for my new stamp set: "Long Time No See" (click the link to see it) I couldn't resist the idea of making the bodies longer, with pull out pieces.
I took a couple of "how to" photos as I was making this second card and thought I'd share with you:
First up stamp the dog on the top piece of card
Then add some body to him, plus stamp his tail and extra body onto other card, and cut out, then cut a slit at the end of his body, so you can slide in the second body section. the extra small rectangle of card, is to attach to this second body part so it won't slide out completely once the card is created, as you can see in the next photo
Then add some Adhesive Strips, stick it down to your card, and voila one sliding "behind"
In fact it's quite simple to create, and really cute!
If you haven't seen it and want to check out the video, here it is:
Being ultra-organised (or so it feels) and putting up the cards we'll be creating at classes in August. If you can make it, the Laanecoorie Class will be Friday 1st at 1pm, and the Maryborough one will be Saturday 2nd at 10.30am. Let me know if you plan to be there.
Remember to click on the links below if you want to see the products in all their gloryπ
Card 3 uses the hilarious Not 29 Anymore Stamp set, I knew I had to have this one as soon as I saw it! Also uses the candles from the Sweet Jar Bundle (the punch used in the card above)
Last but not least this card uses the Charming Day Bundle, which I used in one of my videos not long ago, gee these dies are pretty!
And that's it folks!
I hope if you can't make it to either of the classes, that these cards inspire you to create at home.
