March Class Cards

 Hi There Creators

Well we're over 1/2 way through February already!, and I feel like I have been ultra organised in getting these cards sorted now🤣

Have you remembered to order enough during Jan & Feb to get any of the free Sale-a-Bration Items?  You get to pick something for free with every $90 of goodies you order, but it only goes till the end of Feb, so check the link out if you want to see the freebees.

Anyway onto the March classes, We make 4 cards for $24, Dates are:

Laanecoorie: Tues 5th I we're going to give 1.30pm a go, instead of the 2.30pm we did last month (it'll settle down once I've tried it out, and afternoon did work well), then Thursday 7th at 7pm

And in Maryborough Saturday 9th at 10.30am

Here are cards:

First up using Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper and the Beautiful Balloons stamp set (each card should be different depending on the papers you choose😊

Bright & Beautiful DSP, Beautiful Balloons Stamps, Stampin' Up!

Then continuing on with Designer Papers I have this Perennial Lavender Card (so pretty) coupled with the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch and Heartfelt stamp set
Perennial Lavender DSP, Heartfelt Hexagon Bundle, Stampin' Up!
then on to a watercolour technique that will be coming up as a Something Saturday (ironically on the 9th!) and incorporating the Cheerful Daisies Bundle
Cheerful Daisies, Stampin' Up!
and last but not least I scored this stamp set as a Sale-a-Bration item, which is great cos I've been looking at it for ages!  It's the Botanical Layers set paired up with one of my favourite punches (double oval punch)
Botanical Layers, Stampin' Up!

And that's it!

If you plan to come to any of the classes (especially the Laanecoorie ones) please make sure you book your place as number in my class room are definitely limited, we can fit way more into the Maryborough class 😍

Hope to see you, and if not, I hope these inspire you to create

Something Saturday - A touch of Scrapbooking with Beautiful Balloons

 Hi there Creators,

Well I've been saying that my new glass mat would be ideal for scrapbooking on, so thought I'd better prove it 🤣  Just as a side note it's Sale-a-Bation at the moment (SAB for short) till end of Feb, and you can score yourself one of these amazing glass work mats for free when you join Stampin' Up!  The deets are: pick $235 of goodies, and only pay $169, then get the glass mat studio for free with it (see here: Join my team if you're interested or ask me).

Anyway moving on to the scrapbooking, I can't say I'm an expert at this, it's definitely not my favourite thing, but, I volunteered to create a scrapbook of our Carol service as a gift for someone.  I have these bright ideas sometimes 🤣  Although actually I quite enjoyed making these sheets up in the video and I've had a few more ideas for the pictures with songs connected to the photos.

The first page is this one: not made in video - and as you can see it's remarkably simple!

Stampin' Up!, Beautiful Balloons Scrapbooking

Then I made this one up in the video, I decided the streamers from the Beautiful Balloons Bundle would look good in the background, and I'm happy I did do that, then some of the balloons to go with it, it's such a fun page with the little kids section of the service.  And by the way during SAB if you order this bundle - as it's $91.75 you get to pick an extra gift for free from the SAB offering - woo hoo! check out what's available in the SAB offering here: SAB goodies

Stampin' Up!, Beautiful Balloons Scrapbooking
Then the other side of the spread is this one, I've tried to connect up the streamers so it works across the 2 pages.

 Stampin' Up!, Beautiful Balloons Scrapbooking

They are fairly basic, although I'm quite chuffed with my use of the Decorative Circle punch to create an interest in the corners of the photo on the blue page.

I tend to think the whole purpose of scrapbooking is to preserve the memories in photo form, and these will also have cards in the gaps, that those involved in the carol service are writing on, so I'm not really big on lots of embellishments, although we'll see how the other pages come out if I get more adventurous!

Anyway if you missed the video here it is:

I hope I've inspired you to dig out some of your photos, and have a go at scrapbooking too!

Something Saturday - Magic Slider Card

 Hi There Creators,

Today I'm showing how I make a magic slider card, here is the original one I made up using the Bright & Beautiful Suite:

with the stamps I've used my Brights Stampin' Write Markers to create the rainbow effect by colouring directly onto the stamps, then you huff on the stamp to put moisture back onto it, then stamp it.

Beautiful Balloons, Magic Slider card, Stampin' Up!

Then this is the one I made up in the video using the Online Exclusive Trucking Along Bundle, so cool, it's a punch and stamp set.

Trucking Along, Magic Slider card, Stampin' Up!

I've used the Gold Celebrations Specialty Designer Series "paper" I'd call it acetate!  as I thought it was kind of fun having the printed acetate instead of plain, and there's a bonus that one side is gold and the other is silver 😊  I've also stamped directly onto the Herringbone Ribbon, I love that you can do that with this ribbon as it's quite smooth, and wide.

I promised the measurements on here, so here goes, you'll need:

  • A 1/2 piece of A4 (cut lengthways), so it'll measure 29.7cm x 10.5cm,  this is then scored into 3 equal pieces, at 9.9cm (I just score at that both ends)
  • A piece of cardstock measuring 9.7cm x 12cm
  • A piece of window sheeting (acetate), I used patterned also measuring 9.7cm x 12cm
  • I've also used Brights Designer Series Paper, you'll need 3 pieces to cover the edges of the card, I've gone with 1.4cm x 10.5cm and scored down the length at 7mm

The other things you'll need are a punch or die to create the aperture in the front of the card, a stamp set which will work with your card, as you can see I've chosen with the first card, to create the interest in the die cut balloons when the card is "closed", and only stamped the saying onto the acetate (you'll want to use stazon ink for this, unless you plan to heat emboss).  Or you can pick a stamp set which can be coloured in, so the top image (on the acetate) you leave plain, then colour the image underneath, so the design pops when you pull the tab upwards, both ways create a great magical effect.

I hope this inspires you to have a go too.

Mini Camera Shutter Card

 Hi There Creators,

Today I'm showing you how to make a mini camera shutter card, it's made with an A6 piece of card (so cute!)

Here are 3 of the cards as closed ,1/2 open, and open, so it makes a bit more sense (little hard to photograph!)

Mini Camera Shutter Card, Beautiful Balloons Suite, Stampin' Up!

And these are the components you'll need to make this particular one, check out this list for the products used: what Heather used  and the measurements are below.

You'll need:
  • A6 thick white card, scored in each side at 3.7cm
  • 2 pieces Misty Moonlight card cut to 7cm x 5.9cm scored at 1cm on the long edge
  • 2 pieces of designer paper cut to 1" x 4"
  • 1 piece of designer paper cut to 2" x 4", scored in at 1/2cm (or 1/4") both ends and with the medium filled in balloon from the dies cut from the middle of it.
  • a small balloon cut from designer paper.
  • 2 3/8" circle punch
  • take your pick tool

I'm not sure I'd do justice to explaining how to create this one, so I'll leave it up to the video!

I hope you have a go at making it, you can do them bigger too, just increase the size of the parts!, remember the 2 mechanism parts (the misty moonlight ones in my example) need to overlap in the middle of the card for it to work.

I hope this inspires you to create

Something Saturday - 3 Uses for the Beautiful Balloons Striped Die

 Hi there Creators,

Oooo multiple uses for one die, excellent!  I'm wondering if some other clever people out there have thought of more uses for this die🤣

Here is the die..... Check out the whole bundle here: Beautiful Balloons Bundle there actually is an entire suite (which I wish I'd bought now!!) Beautiful Balloons Suite

Anyway my 3 ways are using the die as fringing, as in this card: kind of like one a flapper skirt, I've used the stunning Dry Brushed Metallic Paper to create this one, OH WOW it's blingy!😍  Have to admit once I'd made it I really didn't know how to add the saying, ended up choosing to heat emboss black on vellum so you can see through it a little, and attached it with a couple of the brads.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Balloons Bundle

The other 2 ways are incorporated into the next card, the first being that you allow cardstock on both sides of the die, then thread ribbon in and out to create a dash effect (go the Morse code 🤣)  Then the other way is to cut the card in the same way as the first card, so it's open on one end, then roll it up and squish it down to create the flowers (the way you'd create quilled flowers)  Note a couple of new colours going on here... Copper Clay for the ribbon, and Wild Wheat for the leaves.

Ha just noticed my watermark is pretty close to Wild Wheat colour! 😁(not planned!)

I was also thinking that it would make a great comb on a Men's cards (or hairdressers card)

I hope this inspires you to create.

Something Saturday - It's a Wrap Card

 Hi there Creators,

Today's video is about an "envelope fold card" but in typical Heather style I had to change it round 🤣

I really wanted to not have to cut/discard any of my 6x6" Designer Paper and to be able to just use it wrapped round the card, with minimal effort.  Admittedly there is a bit of lining up that is required, but generally it's quite simple, and I think the result is worth it, just a little bit different!😁

Anyway enough waffling, here is the card I made before the video:  I used a designer paper that's now retired but the dies are from All That Die set.

Stampin Up!, Being CreateAble with Heather, Wrap Card

As you can see the envelope type flap on the side tucks in under the raised saying

And the back gets decorated up at the same time 😊

Stampin Up!, Being CreateAble with Heather, Wrap Card

Then the card I made up in the video is this one:  I've used the new Bright & Beautiful Papers with matching Beautiful Balloons Bundle (stamps & dies)  I don't know what it is about this bundle/suite that appeals to me so much but I think it's great!

Stampin Up!, Being CreateAble with Heather, Wrap Card

Stampin Up!, Being CreateAble with Heather, Wrap Card

Stampin Up!, Being CreateAble with Heather, Wrap Card

I mention at the beginning you need to line it up, so here's the photo to show you the "lining it up" bit:

Stampin Up!, Being CreateAble with Heather, Wrap Card

If you line up the 6x6" designer paper so the diagonal is level crossways, then lay your card out so the open end 2 corners sit just onto the edge of the designer paper (as you can see in the photo) then you fold over the large flap, and the opposite small flap, so it wraps round your card.  the top and bottom triangles you pencil the line in and chop off the 2 triangles, which then get used on the back of your card.

Then you just need something to tuck the flap under (make sure you put it up on dimensionals)

If you missed the video, here it is....

I hope this inspires you to create 😊

Hi there Creators Today I'm doing one cut with my Designer Paper and creating 2 different cards - gotta love it when you can get 2 for...
