Something Saturday - Peekaboo Diagonal Cut Card

Image
Hi there Creators As I mention in the video I was having a bit of a nostalgic wander through my old catalogue (that retired on 6th May) and came across a page that had a couple of fun fold cards.  So here we are today, trying one of them out.....  Theirs is landscape, mine is portrait but the measurements would be pretty similar just having the fold of the card in a different place. Here is mine: as you can see it's kind of a card in a card.  I've used the Celebratory Sips Suite ,  although I confess I haven't used the stamps & dies in this particular card!  The suite has Stamps, dies, 2 embossing folders, bling, ribbon, and Designer paper, all for $138.25 which I think is pretty good! (and just think with the new rewards system, you'll then have $13.80 to spend on your next order - make sure you've opted in!) If you watched the video you'll know that I accidentally added glue to the wrong side of my designer paper, so I ended up making this card with ...

Something Saturday - Pop out Concertina Christmas Tree Card

Image
Hi There Creators Today I'm showing you how to create a card that has a pop-out element in the middle which just happens to be a Christmas tree (surprise, surprise as it's almost Christmas!) I've used the fabulous Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper, which sadly is on the retiring list 😔 Here is the middle of the first card I created before the video: and the outside of the card..... I wasn't 100% happy with the tree inside the card of that one, I'd used a 1" scoring gap, and I think it was too much, so this one I did in the video I used a 3/4" score gap, which I'm much happier with, and it left me room at the top for a star😁, which I got from the Handcrafted Elements Dies (plus the ornament I used on the front of the card) I think this designer paper is so beautiful, love the brightness, it really works for anything, doesn't have to be Christmas!, although looking at this photo, I'm thinking I should bling up the ornament with ...

Cards for December Classes

Image
Hi there Creators Wow we're at the end of the year again! my goodness that has come round fast!  Last card class for the year, of course focusing on Christmas cards.  Card class dates are: Maryborough: Saturday 2nd at 10.30am, then Wednesday 6th 10.30am and Thursday 7th at 7pm in my classroom in Laanecoorie.  Class cost is $24 for 4 cards - if you're coming please do let me know, and let's have a Christmas Celebration!  NB: the Maryborough class date is different to the one I originally had advertised as our Carol service at church is the following weekend and we have a rehearsal all day Saturday! Onto the cards: I had to use the Light the Sky bundle again, it's really one of my favourites! I've also discovered the absolutely gorgeous Rose Gold Specialty Paper , ummmm This next card I thought was kind of fun!  Using the Modern Oval punch to create the little bags, and the Merry Bold & Bright Designer paper , I felt it went well with the nice bold say...

Something Saturday - Merry Bold & Bright

Image
Hi there Creators Today I thought we'd have a play with the cute Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper , I made up this card before the video: For this one I've ended up stamping the sentiment from Joy to You stamp set , then clear heat embossing over the top (if you stamp with a normal ink it will rub straight off vellum, so you have to set it in place).  I did initially stamp directly onto the cardstock, but discovered that the paper is a little bit too busy for that, and it didn't show up, but I love using vellum, as you can still see the images through it (it's like adding a "transparency shape" to a picture in Word, which I also love doing)  How cool is the White Iridescent ribbon ?  and you can see the little Iridescent Adhesive backed discs in the corners of the vellum (ooo goldfish..... shiny..... )🤣 Then in the video I end up making a sleeve/wrapping for a couple of blingy gifts I'm sending off to people, very simple, cut the cardstock t...
