Something Saturday - Watercolouring Part 2: Watercolour Lifting

Image
Hi there Creators, Well today I've continued on with the watercoloured pieces I produced last Saturday and now I'm showing off "Watercolour Lifting"  I don't recall trying this before, but the basic jist of it is: Create a watercoloured background and let dry completely Stamp over top using versamark dust over with clear embossing powder & heat set it spray water over and blot off to remove some of the colour, until the clear embossed images stand out (the colour under the embossed image will remain "full strength") And that's it in a nutshell, here are the 2 cards I created using the watercoloured backgrounds I created last week:  This first one uses Natures Prints Stamps to create the collage of leaves in the background, then I've used the Celebrating You stamps for the sayings in both cards, then this one I also used the gorgeous Iridescent Pastel Pearls (very pretty!)   Then this is the one I made up in the video, and I finally found a ...

Something Saturday - Joseph's Coat

Image
Hi Creators,  A friend mentioned recently seeing someone doing this technique and suggested I did it as a video, it's one of my favourite techniques although I haven't done it for ages, and I hadn't done it since we had Blending Brushes, Oh my goodness it's a game changer - so much easier! It's called Josephs coat for relatively obvious reasons - that you get a beautiful multi-coloured pattern. Anyway on to the photos, here is the one I created in the video, I'm quite impressed with how it turned out, as I really couldn't see where I'd stamped so I was kind of guessing 🤣  I forgot to use my embossing buddy hence the lighter areas where the embossing powder stuck to the cardstock, all in all though I'm happy with it. And my finished card, I decided to minimise the bits that the excess embossing powder stuck to by popping some vellum over the top, it allows the pattern to show through, and I've heat embossed the saying with white powder.  Oh, the ...

June's classes are on Wednesday 1st at 10.30am and Thursday 2nd at 7pm both in Laanecoorie in my classroom, then also on Saturday 4th at 10.30am in Maryborough. Some of my "new stuff" came, and of course it's hard to resist using it lol This first card uses the gorgeous Starry Sky Ink and Natures Prints bundle of Stamps with matching dies  for a list of what I've used check out this link:  What Heather used   Next up are the fish.... Using A Fish and a Wish Bundle (Stamps and Punch) No new colours in this one, just some lovely brights. Along with the beautiful bright Glossy Dots Assortment.  Check out all the goodies I used here:   What Heather Used I thought I should use a stamp set that has had very little use (at least out of my stamp sets)  In the Moment Stamp Set , I've done a spot of P...
