Something Saturday - Cascading Pleated Fold Card

Image
Hi There Creators, I promised when I was showing off my swap cards from OnStage that I'd work out how to create a couple of cards I received. So, here we go, I have discovered they're called Cascading Pleated Fold Cards! (good start) Here are my 2 cards I made using this technique, I figured I could have a go at both landscape and portrait cards. 😍 The first one is made using the absolutely gorgeous Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper . It took a bit of cutting to get it right as I wanted each scene in front to echo the scene behind, but I think I got it! Then the card I made up in the video ended up like this, I've used the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper (which is happily continuing onto the next catalogue!), and the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle (again continuing on)   Although Sam (Mr 13 year old) did ask what flavour ice-cream is that meant to be?  I said Chocolate & Boysenberry (Hummm, Ok Mum....) 🤣 Anyway on to the measurements.... I worked out that

Team Afternoon

Hi everyone, well today we had a team afternoon, I thought I'd show you all the 2 cards we all made. First of all I showed the ladies how to create a Magic Slider card,  like this (this one I'll be teaching at Bendigo Craft Alive over the 16th/17th and 18th June in a class each day) those who are in my team will have access to the full video I made of it as it's now on our team FB page.  Then I showed them how to use the Lovely Laurel Thinlits to create the inside of cards like this Lastly we made up a couple of cards with new products: this first card uses the Pretty Label Punch with the Label Me Pretty Stamp set And this other card uses the Lovely Words thinlits, and some of the Colour Theory Designer Series Paper, and the new hostess set Background Bits.  We did have fun today! if you fancy joining my team, do ask me for more details, or check out the Page above (Join my team the CreateAbles), there is an exciting Stampin' Up! event coming up i

Sneak Peek time again :)

Hi Everyone, thought I'd show you a couple more cards I've been having a go at with my new stamp sets from the upcoming 2017/18 Annual Catalogue. Oh, before I forget, please could someone try and comment on my blog, as nobody has for ages, and I'm a bit concerned that I've locked something! First up this card uses the Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Colourful Seasons Stamp Set and the matching Colour Theory Designer Series Paper - love these snowflake dies (so delicate) Oh and the branch is a die too!  Next is this card, again using the Colourful Seasons Stamp set, and there's a new set of 3 word dies, "Lovely Words" obviously this one is "friend" lol! Ok, what else do I have to show you? Oh yes this one, isn't it sweet? how cute are the little birds? Its one of the new hostess stamp sets (Feathery Friends) and I've used all the new colours Berry Burst, Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, and Fresh fig (also with a bit of P

Mother's Day cards at school

Image
Hi Everyone, Yes I plucked up the courage and went into school to do Mother's day projects with them! the little ones Prep to Grade 2's made this frame for their mums which they did really well, I much appreciated the help of Lorraine and Erin (2 of the teachers!)  I had everything scored for the kids, and pre-cut the inside bits, and they decorated the back of their frames, and added a few glittery bits. The older kids did a "Never Ending Card" which was a bit more of a challenge, although Josh (my 11 year old in that class thought they could handle it, and he helped me come up with the wording for my card), again I pre-cut and scored, but even so, the challenge was to get the card glued right. They all ended up with a presentable card! (I was very proud of them all!) Here's mine:  Front of card middle of card (first bit) 2nd middle bit of card and finally the back of the card which of course then folds down and your back to the beginning again!

Sneak Peek time!

Hi Everyone, Yay my BBB's came! (short for Big Brown Box) yep they're in a wheelbarrow! had to pick them up from the postbox, and they were too heavy to just carry them (had 8 boxes of catalogues in there too) So if you'd like a catalogue let me know! Anyway these arrived on Wednesday about 1/2 hour before the kids came home - eek that doesn't give much play time!!  However I managed to squeeze a little play, so thought I'd share them with you, here goes...... this first set caught my eye when I first flicked through the new catalogue, it's called Crafting Forever, how cool are the pens/scissors/paint brushes and pot, and of course the saying!  I really felt the scissors needed to be cutting some DSP!  Oh and it's all new colours too (Yay!) Ok next up is this: This uses a stamp set called Daisy Delight, and a new punch - Delightful Daisy, Oh and new ribbon.... and new Faceted Gems (so cool) Righty Ho onto the last card I was able to create in t

A spot of Photo organising!

Hi everyone, Well if you know me, you'll know that I'm not terribly good at remembering to take photos of everyday life (sometimes I remember the important stuff - lol) Anyway my poor mother, keeps requesting photos from me, and I keep forgetting to send any!, so eventually around Christmas time last year I said, how about I make you up an album with photos (as I was having a half hearted go at doing one for myself I figured I could potentially do 2!  Yay today I finally got Mum's album in the mail to her! I thought I'd share with you a few of the pages (of my album, as I'd already sent hers by the time I thought about taking photos of the pages - lol), and the front cover of my Mums' album. Here is the front of my Mums album, really pleased with the way it turned out  So that's it for Mum's album - lol now you get to see some selected pages from our album! these first two show how to use the small 2" square boxes, you
