Yep it's Paper Pumpkin time of the month again😍 I absolutely love the challenge of what I can create each month with my new PP, and that you don't quite know what you're getting each time is a fun factor!
Here is the link to subscribe: Paper Pumpkin Make sure you subscribe before 10th September as you'll miss out on the next one otherwise (looks pretty versatile!) here's the sneak peek:
Anyway onto what I created with this months one, officially it creates 9 cards, but of course I'm never content with only 9!🤣 My aim is to use up the kit as best I can, plus not add too much more, so in this case I've added a couple of extra colours (which if you've been getting PP since it came to Australia, you'll have both of these colours!) Calypso Coral and Lost Lagoon. I've also used blending brushes (very handy!) a couple of different glues (tombow -Multipurpose liquid glue, and mini glue dots), and a couple of white base cards.
Let's start with the "official" cards:
Then moving on to the variants, I only make 2 of these in the video (partly as I got carried away when I was playing with the kit and only had a bit left over to "video" with🤣)
If you missed the video here it is
Let me know if you have any questions! I hope these inspire you to create

Well that's it, the long awaited Go Tropical 🦩🍹🌴August CreateAlong is now Live!
What's a CreateAlong? It's where you order yourself a pack then on the designated day CreateAlong with me (that's the theory) Actually with my CreateAlongs, you can join in any time after it goes "live" as my videos are pre-recorded, which means you can stop & start it at any time 😃 You also get emailed the specific instructions, with measurements so you can recreate the cards if you choose to. However if you would like to purchase just the instructions for it, check out my Tutorials Library on this blog.
Here is the photo "conglomerate". I needed to create something that made me feel warmer in our winter 🤣 - although in fact the new foiling machine does give me warm & fuzzies (in particular the heat coming from the pad! lol) Click the photo for the goodies I used list.
Here are both of the videos:
Part 1: (1st 3 cards)
Part 2: (last 3 cards)
I hope you enjoy Creating Along with me, or these inspire you to create - and if you missed out this time, make sure you receive my emails so you know about the next one!
1/2 way through August and I'm organised for September classes - Woah!🤣
These classes are: 1pm Laanecoorie on Friday 4th September, and 10.30am in Maryborough on Saturday 5th September. If you've never joined in one of my classes and are wondering what it's like, I did video some of my last class, you can find it here: Heather's Class 8th August.
Anyway onto the cards we'll be creating in September:
First up this cool fancy fold card using the silver hot foils (cold)🤣 - might look a bit familiar if you watch my videos! The fabulous Gears & Textures Bundle and the Banner Sayings Bundle, click the photo for the full range of what I used, (you can also purchase from that page if you want to)
Next up using some new, some old, the squares are really cool, like the Spotlight on Nature Dies, that I use so frequently, these have the same edging, click on the photo to see all the "ingredients" although the newbie might not show till the catalogue goes live in September!
Oh and this card actually uses the other 1/2 of the squares bundle! It's called Tile Garden Bundle, how pretty is it? In fact I have designed a class for the 19th September using the whole suite, it's so pretty! I'll be doing a blog post soon for that, but I have already started advertising it - if you don't get my emails make sure you sign up so you get the latest info! Again click on the photo to see the goodies used in the card, (and bear in mind the new goodies may not show till the catalogue goes live in September)
Last but not least LOL I just realised I used the same dies for this card too! oops I usually try and use different ones, Ah well - you can tell they'll become a "go to" for me! How darn cute is the little wombat and Kookaburra? I reckon here in Australia this stamp set will be so popular! New stamp set being released in the September to Jan catalogue (again click the photo for goodies used)
And there you have it, the 4 cards we'll be creating in September😍 I hope you can make it along to the class, but if not I hope these inspire you to create.
After last week of using the "hot" foil - cold I've kind of continued the streak, I feel like I can't get enough of the foil, and I'm so in love with the card I created this week (you all know I can't resist Bling anyway......)
Oh and, absolutely no relevance to this Something Saturday, but there is a Paper Sale on currently so if you had your eye on any of the Gorgeous Designer Series papers/ need any A4 Cardstock colours or 2 Tone Cardstock, check the sale out here Paper Sale it's on till the end of the month. - Make sure you sign up for my emails to get the latest updates!
So without further ado, here is the card, sadly photo's really don't do it justice
I have started off with a piece of thick white A4 card, cut this lengthways at 10.5cm, then scored 2, 4, 6, & 8cm in on each end. I've then used the Gears & Textures Bundle to stamp the 3 sections that show once they're folded round to form the pillars at the side of the card
I then cut a piece of smoky slate cardstock 9.2cm x 10cm, embossed it with the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder, using a piece of sponge, lightly brushed glue on, then used the Silver hot foil pressed onto it, and the glue picks up the foil.😃
But wait there's more.....I added some Adhesive sheet to the front of white cardstock, and cut some of the Gears & Textures Dies, then peeled off the protective layer and pressed them onto the foil, and Ta, da... they turn silver - woah, (so easy) and no heat embossing in sight!
I then finished off by brushing on some Basic Gray down the bottom of the embossed/foiled piece, and gluing it all together, oh and the saying/punch is the Banner Sayings bundle
I've got this photo for you to see the "top" of the card too:
Then I also made this card up, this time I didn't cut it down, so the embossed piece is 10.5cm x 13cm the rest of the measurements are the same. Oh and this one uses the beautiful Swirls of Magic embossing folder and the Gold Hot Foil. Also the Begonia Belle Stamp set (this is last month's product of the month, which is still available) to get it you need to purchase $125 of goodies and you then have the option to purchase it for $9.
What do you think? are you game to have a go? Oh and a quick tip, I've taken to storing my scrap hot foils in one of these: Stamp & Die organisers - if you cut yourself a 12" long piece of cardstock by 13cm, and fold it, so you can pop the foil inside the cardstock then pull it in and out of the organiser it makes it really easy to store (see it in use in my video)
Thinking of which if you missed the video here it is:
Yep we're back on the "hot foil" only we're using it cold this time🤣 I happen to know that the Stampin' Up! hot foil machines were so popular here in Australia that they didn't last long when they got released, so we're waiting on a new shipment (around September time), however in the meantime the foils themselves and some of the dies etc are still available, so..... I figured while you wait you might want to start ordering the bits, so you don't have such a huge outlay in one hit (plus you can still use them in interesting ways).
Equally if you are thinking of getting the hot foil machine, I can totally recommend joining my team (check it out here) because the machine is $280, (currently includes a $53 class in the price), and if you join which is $175, you get a voucher for $240, so potentially the outlay is the $175 plus $40 = $215 and not $280! Yay think I finally got the maths right (didn't do so well in the video!) PLUS then you get an ongoing discount on the rest of your goodies (win, win) AND you get first dibs at new goodies coming out. Plus you get a really cool welcome box worth $114! and there's more, like Demonstrator only gatherings/ Facebook groups......... What's not to love?! You also need a Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (the bigshot doesn't work, as the foiler is a tad wider), so if you don't have one of those you're definitely going to want the discount! (convinced yet🤣)
Ok, onwards to what you can do with the goodies:
First up you can emboss with the hot-foiling dies using the Impressions Plate, then, you can paint glue onto them and add foil (by pressing it onto the glue and it just sticks!😃🤩
With the Butterfly Flight Bundle you'd need to do the masking, then cutting then embossing, and lastly adding foil. This photo shows both sides of a butterfly (bottom one is masked first)
Then you can also just do a line of tear & tape adhesive and press the foil directly onto it (great way to use up scraps! (looks way better in real life than the photos give it credit!)
I've also done a comparison photo for you, first up is the official hot foil, using the foiling machine, then the one where I've added glue and pressed the foil on, third is not using the foil, but using the brayer to add colour to the embossed butterfly, then the multicoloured ones are using the masks, and the last one underneath uses a brush to colour it in. (does show up the embossing nicely!)
Then I have a second card to show you (again looks better in real life!) sigh!
Then of course I had to utilize some of the butterflies that I'd actually hot foiled (just in case you weren't convinced you needed the hot foil machine 🤣)
The top one uses the gorgeous Botanical Glow Bundle, Oh why didn't I buy this sooner? lol, then I've used the "negative" (left over foil from the original card) to create the second card.
