Something Saturday - Brightest Birthday Kit

Image
Hi there Creators Today we're checking out one of the new kits, I have to say WOW!, maybe it's the holographic blingy bits (ooooo bling....🤣)  if you're a regular reader of my blog or watch my YouTube or Facebook channels then you'll know I can't resist bling.  Anyway check out the kit here: Brightest Birthday Kit And here are the cards it makes.... oh and their matching (also blingy) envelopes. Then you'll notice on the first card with the balloons it has a box that has the holographic outline, which is actually a sticker, so in the video I show you how to get the sticker off and onto a separate piece of card without having to pick it off and re-piece it yourself. And this is the card I made with it:  I probably should have used the same Azure Afternoon colour, but I had this piece of Shy Shamrock hanging around my desk, so chose to use that instead, and seeing as the star stamp hadn't been used I figured I should put it into action.  Its not a bad littl...

Cards for September Classes

Image
Hi there Creators,  almost into September!  My classes are on Wednesday 7th, at 10.30am in Laanecoorie, Thursday 8th 7pm Laanecoorie and Saturday 10th 10.30am in Maryborough. $20 to create 4 cards, let me know if you want to book your place. And here's what we'll be making..... First up we'll be using the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks , I love the effects you can get with these! You pick either the Hello Friend or the Happy Birthday, you can't see it terribly well but there is also bling on each of these (more understated in the "male" card) Next up is the Christmas Lights stamp set used on this card with the Brightest Glow stamps for the sayings  I admit to buying the Lights Aglow Suite as I liked everything that was in it and considering you get 9 items in the suite at $261 it's not bad value! (2 stamp sets, 2 die sets, 3 lots of specialty papers, ribbon and embellishments)  Ironically the Distressed Gold Specialty paper isn't part of it, but wai...

Something Saturday - Ripped Cards

Image
Hi there Creators, today I was mulling over what it would look like if rather than curling the ends like I did to create the scroll cards, I just ripped the cardstock, I rather like the effect and *bonus* you get 2 cards out of one ripping session 🤣 (and let's face it there's a certain satisfaction gained from ripping paper! lol) Ok so the first 2 cards I'd made before the video, I had ripped kind of "triangles" out.  You'll need 2 pieces of Designer Paper (probably with a smallish pattern would be best), and you attach the ripped off pieces to one and the remainder to the other: The first card shows the piece that I ripped the bits out of, and the second is the ripped out pieces. I used designer paper and white cardstock that measured 9.5cm x 13.8cm that way I could add a mat if I wanted to of 10cm x 14.3cm (which I did in the second lot of cards)  I've gone with using the beautiful Hues of Happiness Designer Papers , and my "go to" sayings st...
