December Class Cards

 Hi there Creators

Wowsers December already, and Christmas is just round the corner!

I made up 4 cards then decided I wasn't happy with one of them, so switched it out for a card that is literally the star of the show!  As it does require a fair bit of cutting on my behalf I really need to know who's coming a few days in advance so I can have the right amount of kits made.

Class Dates are Tuesday 3rd Dec in my classroom in Laanecoorie and Saturday 14th Dec at Wattle City Church Maryborough - yes there is a big gap between the 2 due to the Carol Service rehearsal on 7th Dec that I'm in  (so exciting)!  As usual we'll be making 4 cards for a cost of $24.

And on to the projects.....

Let's start with the "star of the show", A 6 pointed Star Card, using the gorgeous Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper, and the Sweetest Star Punch. (photos of front & back)

Moving away from elegance to cute, and this uses the Reindeer Days Designer Series paper, The Gold Mercury Vellum, the More Wishes Stamp set, oh and also the Dashing Designs 3D embossing folder (which actually I thought the name was highly appropriate with the reindeer - I think I'll call him Dasher 🀣)

And again another "cute'sy" card using the Snowy Scenes Designer Series paper, the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch and the Light the Sky stamp set.

And lastly this rocker card, which I really wanted to be a Christmas Card, but I can't work out where to put the greeting other than inside that I actually like, so potentially it can be a "whatever you want it to be card" this one uses the gorgeous Elegant Borders Dies, Regal Winter Designer Series Paper  and the lovely Blackberry Bliss & Gold textured Ribbon.

Well that's it - as they say that's a wrap folks!  In the New Year I'll be doing my usual January Mega Class on 18th January, I'm hoping my pre-order will arrive soon so I can start creating for it and work out exactly what we're going to use.

Remember to make sure you let me know if you can make it to December Class!

hope these cards inspire you to create!

Cards for December Classes

 Hi there Creators

Wow we're at the end of the year again! my goodness that has come round fast!  Last card class for the year, of course focusing on Christmas cards.  Card class dates are: Maryborough: Saturday 2nd at 10.30am, then Wednesday 6th 10.30am and Thursday 7th at 7pm in my classroom in Laanecoorie.  Class cost is $24 for 4 cards - if you're coming please do let me know, and let's have a Christmas Celebration!  NB: the Maryborough class date is different to the one I originally had advertised as our Carol service at church is the following weekend and we have a rehearsal all day Saturday!

Onto the cards:

I had to use the Light the Sky bundle again, it's really one of my favourites! I've also discovered the absolutely gorgeous Rose Gold Specialty Paper, ummmm

Light the Sky, Stampin' Up!
This next card I thought was kind of fun!  Using the Modern Oval punch to create the little bags, and the Merry Bold & Bright Designer paper, I felt it went well with the nice bold saying from Joy to You stamp set.

Then moving onto the next card, again some gorgeous cardstock Joy of Christmas Designer Series papers (seems to be a recurring theme here!) Using the More Wishes and Biggest Wish stamp sets, heat embossed with Metallics Embossing Powders.

Joy of Christmas DSP, Stampin' Up!
And the last card, again some gorgeous Papers: This time Winter Meadow Designer Series paper (which is actually a continuing product not retiring just yet - it surprised me that one!) and also the Snowflake Magic Specialty Paper (which is retiring)

I'd love to have you come & join us for a class, but if you can't make it I hope these cards inspire you to create.

Something Saturday - Double Embossing

 Hi there Creators,

So, today we're doing "double embossing" oooo!  First we dry emboss using an embossing folder (with a twist) then we heat emboss the same image πŸ˜ƒ

Here are the cards I created from this technique:

This is the first card I made before the video (and I was really happy with the way it turned out!  I've put versamark onto the embossing folder, then run the piece of Blackberry Bliss card through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, then heat embossed with silver embossing powder, I was so happy with the way it turned out I figured I should show you all how to do it too 😁  I've used the stamp set Light the Sky (which I think I used last week too!), the embossing folder Merry Melody, and Metallics heat embossing powders

Merry Melody, Double Embossing, Stampin' Up!
I also made this one up before the video, this time I embossed the Pretty Peacock cardstock, then lightly rubbed the versamark over the raised image, and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.
Then I wondered how it would look done with black embossing powder -  made me think of a kind of "older" manuscript, I rather like the effect

And lastly this is what I show how to create in the video (same as the silver card)  I did discover that it really needs a heap of versamark on the embossing folder to work properly, but 3rd time lucky and I got it!  Woo hoo - go me🀣

If you missed the video and would like to see how I did this, here it is:

I hope this inspires you to have a go!

Something Saturday - Light The Sky

Hi there Creators

Hands up if you love fireworks!  I love the beauty of them, the colours lighting up the night sky, so when this set "Light the Sky" came out in the mini catalogue, I knew I'd end up buying it.  Have to say it has not disappointed me 😍

I forgot to mention in the video, that there is still a joining offer for Stampin' Up! this month, if you are interested in finding out more about joining Stampin' Up! and my CreateAbles Team, do ask me, or check out the details here: Join Stampin' Up!

Today I had pre-created these 2 cards, and whilst making the second one, that uses blending brushes and inks to create the graduated ombre-type background, I noticed that I was creating a pretty cool pattern on the scrap paper underneath, hence in the video I make the last card using the dies to create masks to use.

Card 1:  I've heat embossed the stamped images with gold embossing powder, then added the Gold foil cardstock underneath, so it shines through and added a couple of Adhesive backed Star trinkets to the middle of the die cut fireworks

Stampin' Up! Light the Sky

Card 2 uses the fabulous adhesive backed glimmer paper and I've used my blending brushes to graduate the colour going down the card

Stampin' Up! Light the Sky
and this last card is the one I create in the video having cut a couple of the dies out from scrap cardstock, I then used them as masks to brush colour through to create this effect.  Then of course - gotta have bling... this time the Pastel Adhesive Backed sequins.

If you missed the video, here it is!

I hope this inspires you to create, and do click on the links above if you want to check out the products I've used.
