Something Saturday, Using the Hot foils Cold

Hi there Creators

Yes it sounds a bit kooky, but bear with me.  Although they are designed to be used with the Hot Foils Machine, it doesn't mean with a bit of creativity that you can't use them in other ways, so..... read on (and watch the video & click the links 😉 Here is a link to pretty much all the products I've used in the video, although sadly I did discover that a couple of the embossing folders managed to sneak past me and retired (and sold out) 😱  If you want any of the goodies in the link just unclick the ones you don't need and "add to cart"  What Heather Used in these cards

Ok so here goes with the photos and how I did it...  First up, the shiny side of the foil when you are using them this way is always towards you, NEVER towards the glue & paper!

Card 1: Christmas Joy, the dots in the background are mini glue dots with the hot foil pressed onto them then I have painted with a tiny brush the Joy and edge of frame, using tombow adhesive (Multipurpose liquid glue, as Stampin' Up! insists on calling it) then allowed it to dry and pressed the foil onto it.

The flower is made from Dimensionals (with hot foils pressed into them)

The Bees are done by "inking" up the stamp with glue (use some sort of applicator to give an even layer of glue to your stamp - stamp it (don't leave it down for too long or it will stick to the paper - not good!), then when the glue has dried a bit (remember that Tombow is repositionable when dry like sticky note paper) you press the dull side of the foils where the glue is and hey presto when you remove it the foils cling to the glue (pretty cool eh?!)

This uses the same technique as the bees for the 2 cards on the left, and the Happy Birthday card uses the tear & tape Adhesive with the foils pressed onto it (remember shiny side up! feels like eggs sunny side up🤣)

Next up uses the Adhesive sheeting, attach some to a piece of cardstock, buff down well then peel off and attach silver foil, DO NOT REMOVE THE PLASTIC LAYER! once it's attached colour the top with stampin blends (alcohol markers), then pop a die cut over the top and it gives a fabulous background - just don't remove the plastic or all your work will disappear (and don't try and add blends to the foil direct it seems to dissolve it!)

These next 2 are the embossing folders that apparently snuck past me and retired 😱😮 very rude!  however use a piece of 2 tone cardstock, add Adhesive sheeting, and the foil on top (leave plastic on for now) run the whole thing through an embossing folder, then peel off the plastic.  Sand the top, and hey presto, it looks really cool!

Last but not least, the bottom card uses the same technique as above, the top card uses the glue to stamp, but with a twist as I was finding it a bit patchy, so I worked out if I use my Stampin' Positioner, and stamp a similar colour onto the cardstock first, then re-stamp with the glue to stamp technique (as it's then in the same spot) it comes out beautifully! then I've added a bit of tear & tape technique below to pop it out on the page.

Well that's all the techniques for now, although I'm sure there are more, and in fact I was thinking you could die cut with the Foam Adhesive sheets, and use it in the same way.....Oh if only I had time right now to do that too 🏃‍➡️

Anyway here is the video, and as I mentioned in the video if you would like me to send you a card (if you're in Australia) let me know as I have heaps, and would love to send some out to random people!

I hope these inspire you to create.  Don't forget to check out the "What I used in my Cards Link" and purchase what you need 😉
