Something Saturday - Citrus Blooms

Image
Hi There Creators Today I thought it would be fun to try out a technique I haven't done in ages - Paper Tole, using the new Citrus Blooms stamp set and dies.  Every so often I come across a stamp set that inspires me to do a spot of Paper Tole'ing, and this one has lots of dimension to it perfect for this technique. To those of you who are saying "Paper Tole-what-ing?"  Paper Tole is a way of taking a picture and literally adding dimension by having several images of the same picture a and cutting out the various parts of it and laying them up, so the picture literally builds up and gives a 3D type image. I thought it would make a beautiful framed piece (and a nice gift for a friend) - let me know what you think.... I did team it up with the fabulous sayings from Unbounded Love Stamp set (the dies that go with this stamp set are a must have!)   Then to create shiny bits I've added some of the fine tip glue pen which dries shiny clear😍 I also said in the video I&

Global Design Project #GDP260

 Hi there Creators,

well I've been getting the emails from the GDP team, and I keep intending to join in again, so I figured it's at a zero number (260) I should re-start!

Plus a new stamp set Gnome for the Holidays arrived that I've been waiting for!

Here is the inspiration from GDP, the idea is to "CASE"= Copy and selectively edit

So although my card looks nothing like Su's card, I noticed that she has used 2 embossing folders in the background, the middle one creating a sort of gap.

So here is my entry, whilst I didn't use 2 embossing folders I did use one twice lol!  and my aim was to create the gap in between, with the rectangular middle piece and the saying

Meadow Moments, Gnome for the Holidays, Stampin' Up!
I wanted the leaves from the Meadow Moments Embossing folder, to show through a bit, so that the rectangle wasn't so "harsh" on the card and covering over so much of the pretty border, therefore I chose to use vellum to stamp on.  I used Stazon Black to stamp, then coloured in with the Stampin' Write Markers, and couldn't resist the cute red rhinestone basic jewels, I really like that they are smaller than other rhinestones, so they fit nicely on Mrs Gnome's hat.  The stamp set Gnome for the holidays I've been looking at for a while, and thinking that the Gnome (with the blue hat) reminded me of my husband Tom (admittedly his beard isn't that long!)

You can see in this next picture how the vellum allows the leaves to show through a bit

And this last photo shows off the embossing folder a little better, I've used a dauber with Garden Green colour to rub over the embossed card love the way this makes the leaves really pop off the page!

there is a link to the Global Design Project in the photo of Su Mohr's card, if you want to check out what others have been making.

I hope this inspires you to create, and if you're planning to place an order and would like to be in the draw for the hostess benefits use this Hostess Code: TE4VXSFJ

 God Bless love
