Something Saturday - Wiper Pop-Up Cars Card

Image
Hi There Creators Well, I was shown a photo of one of these cards from one of my class ladies/downline the other day, and then bless her, Chris sent through the instructions for me.  Chris used the version from Dawn's Stamping Thoughts, I have "translated" it into A4 size and instructions, so this is my version (not sure if anyone else has done this too, it's not very hard!) Anyway I looked at my stamp sets, and Racing By jumped out as one that would be perfect for this!  In the video I promise the measurements, so check those out below, but first the photos..... So, this is the card closed: (oh I also used the Happy Labels Pick a Punch for the saying to go on) then you pull it open, and voila, and extra car appears and takes the lead 😃 (I'm so excited with this! lol) I then showed hubby, who said, Oh do one with the red car in front and it could be Ben's Birthday card, he has a Mazda 370 Z, which he's quite proud of (and his birthday is fast approachin

Something Saturday - Creating Frames using Paper Trimmer

Image
Hi There Creators, Today as I was cutting things with my Paper Trimmer I thought Oh I wonder if I've ever taught people how to create frames with their trimmer, so just in case I haven't, here we go......... In the video I simply show how to position the Trimmer and cardstock to be able to cut out a rectangle from the middle of it and create a frame, I find it really handy to do this, you can create a great effect without lots of bulk, for example with this card, if I was to use single layers it would end up with 7 layers and fairly heavy and bulky, in some respects it's like faux matting! And then on the plus side you end up with the inside pieces to also use......  Love conserving cardstock! These 2 cards use 3 of the new In Colours for this year: Shy Shamrock, Petunia Pop and Pretty in Pink, so of course they needed the new In Colour bling: In Colour Shimmer Gems .  And the Stamp/Punch set I used is Keeping Tabs .  I then may have got a little carried away, with maki

Something Saturday - Trifold Tools Card

Image
Hi There Creators, I had this fabulous idea of how I could have the tools cut out from a card, and sticking up, until I tried it and discovered it didn't work 🤣  Then I had another fabulous idea, so let me know what you think..... I've used the Trusty Tools Stamp set and matching Trusty Tools Dies .  Which I'm happy to say have carried over from last year's catalogue, such a handy "blokey" set! (and of course some of us females are also tool nuts 🤣) Here is the card I ended up making in the video: I have added some of the Take to the Sky designer series paper to the background of it, and I'm really happy with the way it turned out And in this last shot you can see the "shadow" effect of the tools on the back.  I have cut the tools 1/2 out from the card, then added the layer of tools (stamped) on top, then added a layer of gray under the cut away to create the shadow. I ended up preferring it as a triangle fold rather than an up and over, whic

Something Saturday - Take to the Sky

Image
Hi there Creators, Well, this week the video wasn't the longest, partly because I couldn't make up my mind how to finish off the card I am using the Take to the Sky Designer Series Paper (DSP for short).  Partly as I don't yet own the stamp & die set "Adventurous Sky" which is happily in the the sale this month (there's 10% extra off stamp & die bundles till the end of June and also on the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machines)😁check out this link for all the bargains:  10% off Sale    So here we go....... This is the card I was playing with, I ended up changing the base card colour to Copper Clay which comes out in the airplanes, I've used the Unbounded Love stamp set to go with this card (and actually all the cards in this post!) The next card I made up I used the Everyday Details Dies to create the frame piece, the cool thing with this is that it creates an inside frame as well as an outside frame (ie the holes are on both sides of the die c

Something Saturday - Designer Paper Card

Image
Hi there Creators Today I wanted to create something that would show off both sides of the Designer Paper, I'd seen a design I liked, but of course in typical Heather style it didn't turn out the way I'd seen 🤣 Having said that I'm really happy with it, I've used the Mediterranean Blooms Paper , and YAY the Citrus Blooms dies actually cut out some of the paper (gotta love that!) There is currently a special 10% off sale on the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machines , and also an extra 10% off on some of the Stamp & Die bundles (so you'll get 20% off as they already have 10% off them - if that makes sense) So here is the card closed Then as you open it up, you get to see the next layer of designer paper, and the inside of the designer Paper that is the outside cover. Just realised I forgot to take a photo of the inside/inside bit lol, but when you lift the flap you see the lemons on the underside of the navy paper (you can see the pattern that was folded ov

Something Saturday - Let's play with the Ephemera & Card Packs

Image
Hi there Creators,  This year Stampin' Up! have made a big deal of these ephemera packs (pronounced EFF-EM-ER-RA) and I did wonder what the heck it meant, so courtesy of Google: Ephemera: S omething of no lasting significance . usually used in plural. 2. ephemera plural : paper items (such as posters, broadsides, and tickets) that were originally meant to be discarded after use but have since become collectibles. Umm doesn't really sound that momentous 🤣  Anyway, check out the Ephemera packs with this link  And there are 2 sets of cards & envelopes: Sunny Springs , and Calming Creek . If you have a catalogue you'll find them on page 19, with a great stamp set too, but, as you'll see you can make this work without ink or a stamp in sight...... I may have sunk my teeth into all of the packs (and both sets of cards)😁  I had so much fun creating with these (which really surprised me).  As one of the ladies I was chatting to about them said, "they'd make a

Something Saturday - Slit Slider Card

Image
Hi there Creators Today I'm showing off a slider card, one of the presenters at the Stampin' Up! Onstage event we went to in Melbourne showed a similar card, so I thought I should have a go too 😍  I love the way it looks like the element is floating across the card. Anyway here are the finished cards I made up: I have used the Keeping Tabs bundle for the pull tab piece, and the Attention Shoppers Bundle for the cake, bottles & sayings, and also the Labelled with Love Punch  (little note, if you plan to come to my July Mega Class you'll receive the Attention Shoppers stamp set and Labelled with Love Punch as part of your kit)  Oooo so exciting! To create these cards you'll need: A Base Card (A5 folded in 1/2) which gives a front of 14.8cm x 10.5cm A piece of (in this case) white cardstock 5mm shorter = 14.3cm x 10cm A piece of Designer Paper 1/2cm smaller again = 13.8cm x 9.5cm A long straight strip of card in this case 13cm x 3cm And a smaller piece to attach t
