Something Saturday - Cradled with Love

 Hi There Creators,

Today we're checking out the Cradled with Love stamp set you can get for FREE when you purchase $90 of goodies Woo hoo!  it's only available till end of February as part of the Sale-a-Bration offering. click the link to see the sale-a-bration goodies.  Also if you join Stampin' Up! there's a rather good deal going on too, check out this link: Join my team.  Time is running out!

When I was at church the other day, I asked what cards they needed (as I usually try and keep them supplied with cards) and they said baby cards....yikes!  I really don't make many as most of my friends are my age, and have teenage/young adult kids not quite up to the marrying and reproducing stage yet🤣  So I thought I'd better get to work!  Thank goodness Sale-a-Bration has a dedicated Baby stamp set for me to use!

Here's the card I made up before the video: I have to say the detail is so lovely in the stamped image.

Stampin' Up!, Cradled with Love, Sale-a-Bration
I did discover a couple of things that made me realise some stamps have to be used the right way round LOL, such as the bottle, turns out it has "liquid" in it on an angle, huh who knew?, and I think the mat is meant to go all the way under all 4 legs of the bassinet!  The saying is cut using the Modern Oval punch, then cut down again with the same punch, and I've added bling (of course) the Iridescent Pastel Gems matched in really well with both cards.

And very easily I now have 2 baby cards - wey hey 😃

I hope this inspires you to create (and know that you don't need to have heaps of layers on your cards to create a great card!)

Anyway onto the March classes, We make 4 cards for $24, Dates are:

Something Saturday - Filled with Happiness Ovals

 Hi There Creators

Today I thought I'd show you a couple of tricks with the "Filled With Happiness" Stamp Set and Modern Oval Punch.  I'm also using the Water Painters ,and Wink of Stella, and as when you use watercolouring you need an ink that won't move with water, I'm also using Black Stazon for my stamping outlines.

Here are the cards I have made up:

I made this one up before the video, if you stamp on spare cardstock you can punch out the middle with the Modern Oval punch and layer it up onto your base card.

Stampin' Up!, Filled with Happiness, Modern Oval Punch

Stampin' Up!, Filled with Happiness, Modern Oval Punch

Then I remembered to show how to get just the inside image onto a card (or envelope) and if you punch another oval shape with some of the sticky note paper, you can put that on a card, and just stamp the outside of the stamp. 😉

So then I went on to make this card: combining it with the cute Sale-a-Bration set "Cradled in Love", which you can pick for free with a $90 order, Woo hoo!  it's only available till end of February as part of the Sale-a-Bration offering. click the link to see the sale-a-bration goodies.  Also if you join Stampin' Up! there's a rather good deal going on too, check out this link: Join my team.

Stampin' Up!, Filled with Happiness, Modern Oval Punch

And then this one uses the outside of the stamp, and some of the other stamps in the set:

It's actually a surprisingly versatile stamp set! (or at least I was surprised by what I could do with it🤣)

Something Saturday - Rock & Roll

 Hi there Creators,

Today we're checking out the Rock & Roll designer Series Paper, it's a great all rounder being black & white (check it out with the link above)

Oh and don't forget.....that Sale-a-Bration (SAB) is still going to the end of Feb, which means for every $90 you purchase you get a FREE SAB goody, or if you have heaps you want, you could join my team, and pick $235 of goodies, and only pay $169! plus you get the Glass Mat Studio for FREE or an extra $51 of goodies to pick for free! (making it $286 you can pick and only pay $169!! bargain!)  click the links to find out more info.

Anyway, onto the cards I created with it, after last week I was kind of stuck on my Alphabet A La Mode dies, so kept using them🤣  Oh Plus I also used the new Stampin' Brayer to create a great quick colour for the background so it wasn't the stark white (the advantages of having black & white designer paper!) then I used my Stampin' Write markers to colour in 3 of the guitars (was tempted to colour in more)  then one of my fav stamp sets Biggest Wish to create the big BIRTHDAY.  I like the way the "happy" pops with the Soft Sea foam behind it.

Stampin' Up!, Rock & Roll DSP, Alphabet A La Mode Dies

Then as I had my Happy already cut out I thought rather than adding to my rather large collection of scraps, I'd best do something with it!  It wasn't going to show up well enough on the dark coloured DSP, so I figured a bit of vellum underneath works wonders 😃, and as it's kind of hard to stamp onto vellum, I thought it would be better to have the Birthday white heat embossed onto it.  By the way Birthday comes from the matching Stamp set "Rock Star", just a case of only inking up the Birthday bit of the stamp, which isn't too hard to do, or wipe off the excess ink before you stamp.  How cool are the little boom boxes, record players, and tapes? (oh takes me back to my teenage years and taping songs off the radio......)

I hope this inspires you to create too, dig out your black & white DSP and colour or brayer it in!

Something Saturday - Let's Go Alphabet

 Hi There Creators,

Today we're checking out both of the Alphabet Die sets that Stampin' Up! have on offer at the mo.

Alphabet A La Mode Dies, and Mini Alphabet Dies, both sets really handy, and if you're a scrapbooker, I'd say they're essential!

Anyway, here are the cards I created this time:

The first card, kind of uses the off-cut piece, and I suggested in the video you could do an anagram of someone's name using it, this one is just a FOR U card 😊 with a few other off cuts I happened to have lying around on my desk.

Stampin' Up! Mini Alphabet Dies

Then this is the card I made up in the video, I had previously cut the black glimmer paper (quite a long time ago) intending to make up a card like this, which clearly hadn't been used 🤣 can't rush these things!

So, as Sam's birthday is looming at the end of Feb, and he'll be 13 I thought I could make it up for him, his fav colour is "cyan" as he likes to call it (I'd call it turquoise or blue) I've used Tahitian Tide.  No idea what he'll be getting for his birthday yet...... (hopefully he likes his custom made card)

I also used them in the scrapbook that I've been making (if you're a regular here, you might remember I was doing some last week):

Something Saturday - A touch of Scrapbooking with Beautiful Balloons

 Hi there Creators,

Well I've been saying that my new glass mat would be ideal for scrapbooking on, so thought I'd better prove it 🤣  Just as a side note it's Sale-a-Bation at the moment (SAB for short) till end of Feb, and you can score yourself one of these amazing glass work mats for free when you join Stampin' Up!  The deets are: pick $235 of goodies, and only pay $169, then get the glass mat studio for free with it (see here: Join my team if you're interested or ask me).

Anyway moving on to the scrapbooking, I can't say I'm an expert at this, it's definitely not my favourite thing, but, I volunteered to create a scrapbook of our Carol service as a gift for someone.  I have these bright ideas sometimes 🤣  Although actually I quite enjoyed making these sheets up in the video and I've had a few more ideas for the pictures with songs connected to the photos.

The first page is this one: not made in video - and as you can see it's remarkably simple!

Stampin' Up!, Beautiful Balloons Scrapbooking

Then I made this one up in the video, I decided the streamers from the Beautiful Balloons Bundle would look good in the background, and I'm happy I did do that, then some of the balloons to go with it, it's such a fun page with the little kids section of the service.  And by the way during SAB if you order this bundle - as it's $91.75 you get to pick an extra gift for free from the SAB offering - woo hoo! check out what's available in the SAB offering here: SAB goodies

Stampin' Up!, Beautiful Balloons Scrapbooking
Then the other side of the spread is this one, I've tried to connect up the streamers so it works across the 2 pages.

 Stampin' Up!, Beautiful Balloons Scrapbooking

They are fairly basic, although I'm quite chuffed with my use of the Decorative Circle punch to create an interest in the corners of the photo on the blue page.

I tend to think the whole purpose of scrapbooking is to preserve the memories in photo form, and these will also have cards in the gaps, that those involved in the carol service are writing on, so I'm not really big on lots of embellishments, although we'll see how the other pages come out if I get more adventurous!

Anyway if you missed the video here it is:

I hope I've inspired you to dig out some of your photos, and have a go at scrapbooking too!

Something Saturday - Half'er cards using Trusty Toolbox

 Hi There Creators,

No not half a card🤣  Today I'm showing off the fabulous Trusty Tools Bundle, which just so happens to have matching Sale-a-Bration papers that go with it.  Sale-a-Bration (SAB) is on until the end of Feb, for every $90 you purchase you get to pick for free from the SAB catalogue (check out the whole offering here: Sale-a-Bration items.  Woo hoo!  There's also another fabulous deal when you join Stampin' Up! you get to choose $235 of goodies plus you get the glass mat studio for free OR and extra $50 of goodies in your pack and you only pay $169 (absolute bargain, let me know if you're interested!) or check out this link: Join Now link.   Anyway moving on to my "half'er" cards....

The Trusty Toolbox SAB papers have a heap of tools on a couple of the sheets, which is great, and for a scrapbook sheet they're fine, but round the edges if you're a cardmaker you kind of end up with a heap of "dud" tools (half tools), so I thought I can use those (and show you how to too)

Here goes.....  This first one I made up in the video

Trusty Toolbox Bundle, Stampin' Up!
Then after the video I moved onto this one (just happened to have the "love you" cut out from the post I did on 30th Dec laying around on my desk), so figured I might just make this one up for my hubbie (now to find a non-suspicious reason to give it to him 🤣)

Trusty Toolbox Bundle, Stampin' Up!

And lastly I also had some off cuts bits, so I squared them up and figured it would work to "splash" them over the front of the card, as I did fussy cut all the bits out before the stamps & dies (that I'd forgotten I'd ordered arrived), but some of these tools and the paintbrush are cutoutable with the dies (ooo that's a good word isn't it, "cutoutable"🤣

Trusty Toolbox Bundle, Stampin' Up!

Aren't they fabulous papers? and the stamp set is really cool that it has "fill" in bits to stamp - check it out with the link above.

I hope this inspires you to create!

Something Saturday - Swaps I received at Backstage

Hi There Creators, Well as most of you know I went to a Stampin' Up! leadership event called Backstage in Las Vegas recently, I made up...
