Something Saturday - Amazing Trifold Card

 Hi There Creators

I saw this really cool card on a Facebook reel, it was done so quickly, that when I came to try it it took me an awful lot of rewinds to get it right 🤣  So I figured I could do it a little slower to show you all how to make it too.  Here are the photos of the cards I created:

The first card I used the Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper, so pretty!

Stampin' Up!, Amazing Tri-fold Card, Wildly Flowering

Stampin' Up!, Amazing Tri-fold Card, Wildly Flowering

Stampin' Up!, Amazing Tri-fold Card, Wildly Flowering

Then the card I made in the video uses Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper with Pebbled Path Cardstock, I think it looks really elegant!  I ended up making it into a sympathy card, as my Step Dad passed away, so I needed a lovely card to send to my Mum (hope she likes it!)  I love the way the bird freeze goes through the panels of the card.

And now for the measurements..... the way I made it in my video:
(this is the metric version I worked out)
You will need a base card (A5) scored in 1/2 at 10.5cm, then trim 5cm off one side (so you only have a 1/2 flap at the front)
Next you need the "mechanism" component this is a 1/2 piece of A4 cut lengthways (10.5cm x 29.7cm), you need to score this at 7cm, 14cm, 21cm and 25.2cm.  It folds in an S or 5 shape.
Ok then you'll need the decorative pieces:
For the base card plain cardstock 14.3cm x 10cm, and 14.3cm x 5cm (pretty sure you can work out which goes where!)
Then the mechanism first "mats" are:
4cm x 10cm, 3.7cm x 10cm, four of 6.5cm x 10cm
Then designer paper onto the first 4 mats are:
3.5cm x 9.5cm, 3.2cm x 9.5cm, and two 6cm x 9.5cm
Then you'll also need two plain (in this case white)
6cm x 9.5cm

However if you'd prefer the US measurements (Imperial), this is the measurements from the clip I saw:
Base Card 5.5" x 6.5" score at 4.25"
Mechanism: 3.5" x 10.5" score at 2,3,5.5 and 8"
Mats: Front of Card 2" x 5.25"
Back inside card 4 x 5.25"
Mechanism front strip 3/4" x 3.25"
Mechanism 4 panels 2.25" x  3.25"

If you watched the video you'll know I had a couple of spare pieces I accidentally cut, so I made those into sympathy cards for my Step Dads 2 daughters (again I just think the combination of Pebbled Path and this Designer Paper is so elegant looking!)

I hope this inspires you to have a go at creating a Tri-fold card, I'd love to see what you make!

Something Saturday - Take a Bow

 Hi There Creators

So, today I thought I'd have a play around with the "Take a Bow Bundle" I thought it looked kind of cool for one of those inticate bow things you add to the top of the presy, but wait there's more......🤣

The first bow I make up in the video is this one:

Take a Bow, Stampin' Up!

then I make up a different sort of bow, and ended up after the video making another one, so I could create this card, I've used the More Wishes Stamp set continued from last Christmas

Take a Bow, Stampin' Up!

And lastly just using the pieces flat on a card, the same stamp set again, but this time heat embossed with the copper powder, and using the Graceful Greenery Vellum to stamp onto, so the pattern underneath still shows through

Take a Bow, Stampin' Up!

And that's all I had time for in this creating session,

If you missed the video, here it is

I hope it inspires you to create.

Something Saturday - Snowy Scenes Designer Series Paper

 Hi There Creators,

In my video today I thought after seeing all the Designer Papers last week in my video, I should start playing with some!  So, today I'm playing with the Snowy Scenes Paper

Funnily enough I possibly wouldn't have picked this paper out to purchase, but, because I organized a Paper share I put myself in it and ended up with a partial pack of each of the papers too (which is really cool!)  Just a heads up that I'm hoping to remember to do this for each catalogue that comes out!

Anyway moving onto the cards I created with it....

This is the one I created in the video, the Pool Party Pom Pom ribbon, I've used one of the alcohol Stampin' Blends to colour it dark green, then cut the ribbon in 1/2 lengthways to pop under the edges of it, then I've used a couple of the cute Adhesive Backed Peppermints, Oh and the Sweetest Star bundle

Stampin' Up!, Snowy Scenes DSP

The other 1/2 of the line of designer paper I used for this card, heat embossing the saying onto the Poppy Parade cardstock and using the ribbon unaltered. Oh yes and some of Drusy embellishments (soooo pretty, blingy)

Stampin' Up!, Snowy Scenes DSP

Then the last 2 cards I wanted to use the snow globes I'd cut out and added some of the fine tip glue pen to make the "glass" shiny looking, took a bit longer, as you have to wait for the glue to dry and it needed a couple of coats, but I'm happy with the result (sadly doesn't show up well in photos!)

 Stampin' Up!, Snowy Scenes DSP

This card I used the pumpkin pie Stampin' Blends to colour the ribbon, for another shade of ribbon!

I hope this inspires you to create too,

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Season

Stampin' Up! Peaceful Evergreens

then I decided I haven't used the tab punch next, and thought it would make a good bowl! so this card uses the Keeping Tabs bundle, Simply Sparkling Dies and the Spotlight on Nature Dies
Stampin' Up! Keeping Tabs, Simply Sparkling

Stampin' Up!, Latte Love,

Something Saturday - Wiper Pop-Up Cars Card

 Hi There Creators

Well, I was shown a photo of one of these cards from one of my class ladies/downline the other day, and then bless her, Chris sent through the instructions for me.  Chris used the version from Dawn's Stamping Thoughts, I have "translated" it into A4 size and instructions, so this is my version (not sure if anyone else has done this too, it's not very hard!)

Anyway I looked at my stamp sets, and Racing By jumped out as one that would be perfect for this!  In the video I promise the measurements, so check those out below, but first the photos.....

So, this is the card closed:

(oh I also used the Happy Labels Pick a Punch for the saying to go on)
Stampin' Up! Racing By, Happy Labels Pick a Punch
then you pull it open, and voila, and extra car appears and takes the lead 😃 (I'm so excited with this! lol)

Stampin' Up! Racing By, Happy Labels Pick a Punch

I then showed hubby, who said, Oh do one with the red car in front and it could be Ben's Birthday card, he has a Mazda 370 Z, which he's quite proud of (and his birthday is fast approaching)

So then this card (in landscape form for a different spin) had to be created...... this time using Peaceful Season dies for the saying to go in (and a sneaky grey car which just happens to be the colour of his brothers car - although totally different type of car)

Stampin' Up! Racing By, peaceful season dies

Stampin' Up! Racing By, peaceful season dies

I'm soooo chuffed with the way these cards turned out!
Anyway on to the measurements for you:

For the Portrait (top card) take a Piece of A5 card, cut it to
14.8cm x 14.5cm
then cut the remaining piece down to 14.5 x 6.5cm
With both pieces score one end at 2cm and 4cm
here is my little "mud mappy" thingo:

For the Landscape version, you'll need:
10.5cm x 18.8cm  And 18.8cm x 7cm (sadly doesn't fit into an A5 sheet, but oldest son is worth it🤣)
Again both scored at 2cm and 4cm one end only

For Both, you'll need a mechanism piece, this is 4cm x 1.5cm, and a window sheet piece 4cm x 1cm.

In the video I do this all in black (umm that was clever!)  so you actually can't really see what I'm doing🤣  hence I have recreated it for photos with hopefully something that you can see and understand:
This mechanism piece gets folded at right angles each end to look like this
It then gets flipped over and one triangle attaches to the inside fold of the shorter piece of card, as shown.
Now flap out the mechanism and you'll need to cut a point into the window sheeting (shown here in blue) so it will fit nicely into the triangle in the mechanism.

Attach it in as shown

It should then fold down and in, like this, and the image attaches to the window sheeting (in this case blue card)

Once you've worked that out, you can then put all your card together.
If you missed the video here it is;

I hope this inspires you have a go at making this too, it really is quite simple once you've got the hang of the mechanism piece!  Do show me what you make!

God Bless love

Something Saturday - Pop Out Stars card

 Hi there Creators,

Today I'm showing off this card I designed the other day, which has a pop out element with stars on it, and a dangly bit!  The Stars come from Sweetest Star bundle, (I always want to call it chubby Star bundle 🤣)  I've used the Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper, and Peaceful Season Bundle (stamps & dies).

The first card I made up with retired Designer Papers to try it out, measurements further down.  Here is the first card:

Stampin' Up!, Heather McCarthy, Something Saturday video

Stampin' Up!, Heather McCarthy, Something Saturday video

Then the one I make up in the video is this one:

Stampin' Up!, Peaceful Season, Pop Out card

Stampin' Up!, Peaceful Season, Pop Out card

And now for the measurements......

You'll need an A4 base card, cut down the middle and scored in 1/2 to create a long card

The outside of the card uses for the front Panel

A plain colour card 14.3cm x 6cm, then an overlay of Designer Paper 2" x 13.8cm, which has the "Christmas" die cut out of it.

Inside the card, you need 2 plain pieces 14.3cm x 10cm, and 2 Designer Paper pieces 13.8cm x 9.5cm.

The Mechanism part is 14.8cm x 2cm folded in 1/2 at 7.4cm and a fold of 1cm at each end.

You need 5 stars for the middle folded star, and 2 more for the outer stars.

fold all the stars in 1/2, so the side you want showing is on the inside of the fold, stack and glue together the 5 for the middle star, and attach them to the middle fold of the mechanism part.

Attach the other 2 stars to the outer folds of the mechanism

If you want the dangly saying, cut out 2 of the banners (these will stick back to back with the twine in between, stamp on one or both, then lay everything on the inside of your card to work out where it will sit (bearing in mind that when it folds the star needs to stay inside the confines of the card!)

You'll find it easier to attach the dangly saying before you attach the mechanism into your card, trust me!

If you missed the video here it is:

I do hope you have a go at making this, let me know what you think, and I hope this inspires you to create!

God Bless love

Something Saturday - 2 from 1 Stripes & Trees

Hi there Creators Today I'm doing one cut with my Designer Paper and creating 2 different cards - gotta love it when you can get 2 for...
