Something Saturday - Cascading Pleated Fold Card

 Hi There Creators,

I promised when I was showing off my swap cards from OnStage that I'd work out how to create a couple of cards I received.

So, here we go, I have discovered they're called Cascading Pleated Fold Cards! (good start)

Here are my 2 cards I made using this technique, I figured I could have a go at both landscape and portrait cards. 😍

The first one is made using the absolutely gorgeous Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper. It took a bit of cutting to get it right as I wanted each scene in front to echo the scene behind, but I think I got it!

Fancy Fold Card, Stampin' Up!, Meandering Meadows DSP
Then the card I made up in the video ended up like this, I've used the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper (which is happily continuing onto the next catalogue!), and the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle (again continuing on)   Although Sam (Mr 13 year old) did ask what flavour ice-cream is that meant to be?  I said Chocolate & Boysenberry (Hummm, Ok Mum....) 🀣
Fancy Fold Card, Stampin' Up!, Ice Cream Swirl Bundle

Anyway on to the measurements....

I worked out that you take your base card, and fold the front of it evenly into 4,

In the case of my ice cream card, we have an A5 sheet scored and folded at 2.6cm, 5.2cm, 7.8cm, 10.4cm, and concertina these.

Then measure down 2 equal measurements on the "front" of the card that you have concertina'd

I used 2.5cm and 5cm. then you cut the steps.

Then you'll need 2 "mats" for the front 2 step pieces I used 12.3cm x 8cm and 9.7cm x 5.5cm.  Then you can add mats/DSP to the top of this I measured 7mm less for my next mats.

I have a kind of "mud map" of it (this is for the landscape version, but they should be the same concept.)

Cascading Pleated Fold Card Landscape

As you can see for my landscape version I've cut the A4 card in 1/2 length-ways then scored the front at 3.7cm, 7.4cm, 11.1cm and 14.8cm

Then my steps are at 7.4cm and 4.3cm (which should be exactly 3.1cm down and 6.2cm down) (in theory) you can get away with 4.5cm, as I've written down, but it's not exactly 2 equal measurements that way.

I then have mats for the front 2 step pieces as 7.4cm x 10.5cm and 4.3cm x 7cm, and again then add another mat to the top of these 7mm shorter.

Class cards for May

Hi there Creators,

I have worked out our class cards for May now woo hoo!

Class dates are:  Tuesday 7th at 1.30pm in Laanecoorie, Thursday 9th at 7pm in Laanecoorie, and Saturday 11th at 10.30am in Maryborough.  Class cost is $24 for 4 cards with envelopes.  It's important to book your place if you're coming to Laanecoorie as space is limited.

Here are the cards we'll be creating:

Using the beautiful Unbounded Love Bundle and Layers of Beauty (I've only used the stamp set here, but Oh My Goodness the bundle is so worth it!), also showcasing some of the new colours: Shy Shamrock and Peach Pie (guess which is which 🀣)

Unbounded Love, Layers of Beauty, Stampin' Up!
Then back in time a little as this was in the mini catalogue (if you want it, buy it now before the end of the month while it's still a bundle price with 10% off it!)  Ice Cream Swirl Bundle (stamps & dies)  again showcasing one of the "new" colours, although Pretty in Pink is actually an old colour with a come-back!
Ice Cream Swirl, Stampin' Up!
Moving onto the big Leaf Collection Stamp, and combining it with Layering leaves stamps and the matching Bough punch (which I thought went really well with this new big stamp)
Leaf Collection, Layering Leaves, Bough Punch, Stampin' Up!
And last but not least the pretty Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper paired up with the Dotted Circles 3D embossing folder - which incidentally is huge!  at 8" x 6", you can fit a whole A5 sheet into it!
Dotted Circles 3D embossing folder, Stampin' Up!

and "that's it folks" as they say at the end of the Looney Tunes Cartoons.  Hoping you can make it to one of my classes, if not I hope this inspires you to create in your own space 😊

Something Saturday - Mini Catalogue what's retiring

 Hi there Creators,

Today I thought I'd show you what's retiring from the Mini Catalogue (and what's being reduced, which isn't much!)  You'll find that lots of bundles are retiring but the products in them aren't, which means that if you want a 10% discount on them you need to buy them before they head into the new catalogue or online as individual items  (of course you could always join my team and get a 20% discount on all your goodiesπŸ˜‰)

At the end of the video I end up showing off the Forever Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, and something a bit different you can do with it, also the beautiful Gold Foiled Flowers Cards & Envelopes.  And here's what I ended up doing with them:

I used some of my Stampin' Blend alcohol markers to colour them in (a little time consuming, but totally worth it!)

Gold Foiled Flowers Cards & envelopes, Stampin' Up!
I ended up deciding to colour in the vanilla background with the pool party markers too, I really like the way it turned out!  with this card I used both the light and dark colours of blends to create the depth in the flowers and leaves. Then I finished it off with the Pool Party Grosgrain ribbon (makes such a nice bow this ribbon)

Gold Foiled Flowers Cards & envelopes, Stampin' Up!

The pretty peacock Forever Love Specialty DSP only needed the darker colours of the markers to be used as the lighter ones didn't show a difference.

Forever Love Specialty DSP, Stampin' Up!
Then the finished card uses the Faux Gold Leather Trim to finish it off, I love this effect, and it pairs up SO well with this paper!

Don't forget to check out the "Last Chance List" and find yourself some bargains (or potentially grab a few things before they're gone!)  If you're order is under $250 use this link to do your order and you'll go into the draw to "win" the host benefits: Order Under $250  If it's over $250 use this link Order Over $250 and you'll get your own rewards 😊

Something Saturday - Look what's retiring

 Hi There Creators

Today we're taking a look at some of the goodies that will be retiring from the Annual Catalogue (specifically ones that I currently own!)  I go through them in the video and mention if they're being discounted on 9th April, but bear in mind if you specifically want something, sometimes it's best not to wait, as things can be sold out before you realise it!  Here is the retiring list for the Annual Catalogue: Last Chance Annual Catalogue List

The Mini Catalogue is also retiring, but I haven't focused on that today, maybe I should next week, we'll see.....  anyway here is the retiring list for the Mini Catalogue:  Last Chance Mini Catalogue List

(I'm really hoping those links work!)  there is a heap retiring and it's worth checking if it was bundled whether the bundle is still cheaper or if it's worth purchasing the individual items separately if they've both been reduced to less than the bundle price (if that makes sense?)

Anyway I'm not going to list them all now, I'll just show you what I created at the end of the video with the absolutely gorgeous Artisitically Inked Stamp set (being reduced from $42 to $29.40) , and although I didn't use them for these cards, the Artistic dies are being reduced from $61 to $30.50! (bargain!!)

I accidentally stamped the saying on a "wonk) so then had to stamp a whole heap more to make it look authentic 🀣  I mentioned in the video I felt it needed a bit of bling, so I've actually used some of the gorgeous Gilded Leafing, which is sadly also retiring (going from $15.75 to $7.87)  recommend you watch a video on using this before you open the container!  pretty sure this one here tells you about it: Artistically Inked with Gold Gilded Leafing

Look whats retiring April 24, Stampin' Up!
wasn't sure how well the gilded leaf would show up so I took a close up too 😁
Look whats retiring April 24, Stampin' Up!
Then after the video I thought I should probably use some of the retiring inks too....  so this one uses all the retiring In Colour Inks (and now I realise how much I actually like Orchid Oasis!)  Anyway retiring In colours are: Sweet sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis.
Look whats retiring April 24, Stampin' Up!
And again just in case it didn't show up well in the big photo the bling: 2022 - 2024 In Colour Pearls (which incidentally are going from  $12.25 to $6.12)  sooo pretty......
Look whats retiring April 24, Stampin' Up!
I hope you get the chance to check out the lists, and if you're not on my email list to receive these and other things, let me know!

Here is the video in case you missed it:

Something Saturday - Show & Tell

 Hi There Creators,

Today I was thinking that you might like to check out all the swaps I received at OnStage (the Stampin' Up! event held in Melbourne a couple of weekends ago.  The idea behind it, in case you've never heard of swaps before, is that I create a heap of the same card, and others do the same, then at the event we swap cards to end up with samples of all sorts of different stamp sets, card ideas etc, it's really fun, and I love the diversity of what I receive back!

I show them all off in the video, but in case you wanted to check any out in particular, I've photographed them all in groups of approx 4 (thank goodness I didn't make up 100+ swaps🀣) but it's still a bit of a long post! (and here's the irony, I forgot to take a photo of mine🀣)

So here we go, I'm not going to be giving credit to each individual that made them, but rest assured they are all Stampin' Up! demos😍 (some I don't know who made them, usually you'd put your name on them, but not all of them had that) If you do want to know - just ask me!

And Hey if you want to come to a Stampin' Up! event so you can join in too, why not consider joining my team?  The next exciting in person event is in Brisbane March '25 (I can't wait!)

And then I completely forgot about this one in my video, so it gets a special mention!  A couple of my team members had made up this for me, using one of the Pillow Boxes from the mini Catalogue, (which are retiring soon - just a heads up!)  and the pretty Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper (also retiring soon)  If you're on my mailing list you will have received a copy of the retiring list by now, the official discounts will start on 9th April, but if you don't have the list let me know!

 Stampin' Up! show & tell

And then at the event we had the opportunity to have purchased a stamp & die set (I chose Citrus Blooms) to use at the Thursday evening event, I ended up swapping the stamp set over with the lady next to me (who had Spotlight on Nature) so we could make up samples with "not our set" if that makes sense? (as potentially we could create the same samples once we got home with our goodies!)  So here are my samples with her set, and the gray card is one I made up the following day with some other new goodies 😍

Something Saturday - Blackout Embossing

 Hi there Creators

Today I'm showing you a technique I learnt just recently - Janine Rawlins had put it up on her FB, and as soon as I saw it I had to go and have a go!  OH MY GOODNESS!! If you haven't come across it before and you have a plentiful supply of embossing folders, I suspect you will be like me too.🀣

So here are the creations I made then I'll give you a brief rundown on how to do it: (I may have got a little carried away......)

First up: Fern 3D embossing folder and one of the embossing folders from Stripes & Splatters 3D embossing folders.

Stampin' Up!, Cardmaking Technique, Blackout Embossing
Then the other embossing folder from Stripes & Splatters is the Pretty Peacock one, and the purple one is one of the Basics 3D embossing Folders
Stampin' Up!, Cardmaking Technique, Blackout Embossing
Then lastly the 2 embossing folders from Fun Patterns embossing folders (these aren't 3D folders, but they still work 😍)
Stampin' Up!, Cardmaking Technique, Blackout Embossing

Don't they look great?

So, here is the way to do it.....  For these ones I started off with a piece of white cardstock, embossed it, then using brushes, brushed random colours (light & bright) all over the DEBOSSED side, lastly swipe over the whole thing with a darker colour, and the debossed bits should remain the light bright colours, with the flat raised sections in the dark colour.

If you missed the video here it is:

I hope this excites you as much as it did me, and you are inspired to create

God Bless,

Something Saturday - A Little Latte

 Hi there Creators,

Well today I thought I'd play with one of my lastest goodies, A Little Latte Designer Series Paper, although I'm starting to think that maybe I should have ordered the Stamp set & Dies too: Latte Love Bundle.  They are all "Online Exclusive goodies", which really only means they're not in a catalogue - but you can see them online (and you can click the links above to view them)

Anyway here is the card I made up in the video:

Stampin' Up! A Little Latte, Trucking Along

I borrowed the saying from Trucking Along (which is another one of the Online Exclusives goodies), and felt a need to add some bling, (another online exclusive)  Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins - oh these are really nice!  I do love a good sequin without a hole in the middle🀣

Then I made up this card below too the backing papers are just gorgeous!, saying is also from the Trucking Along stamp set, the green piece running through the middle is actually the reverse side of the coffee splatter top piece.😊

If you missed the video, here it is......

I hope this inspires you to play with your designer Papers too

Something Saturday - 2 from 1 Stripes & Trees

Hi there Creators Today I'm doing one cut with my Designer Paper and creating 2 different cards - gotta love it when you can get 2 for...
