Something Saturday - Cute & Easy Boxes

 Hi There Creators,

Today's video was showing you how you can create these ultra easy "sunny boy" boxes, so called after Sunny Boy flavoured frozen iceblock/drink things.  Before I arrived here in Australia (Tom - hubby said, Oh they were so good and only 10c each......)  probably not 10c anymore if they were still around 🤣

Anyway, they are so simple to make, my one recommendation with them is to make sure the join isn't going to end up on a fold, so when you squash flat the bottom, make sure the join isn't central, but to one side!

Here's what I created, my first one was with a sheet of A5 cardstock (14.8x 21cm)  I had stamped the fishes on it first using the "A Fish & a Wish Bundle".  Then rather than sealing up the top, I've cut slits using the Label Me Fancy Punch. and made up a ribbon handle.

This next box is using Designer Series Paper (this one, Artfully Composed -so gorgeous is retiring at the end of June) so currently it's reduced to $14 (from $20) Bargain!!  Anyway this box is made from 8" x 4" cardstock.
And this last long thin box is made from 6"x 6" card!

Really you can create them with any size of rectangular cardstock.  So if you haven't before, have a go!

I mention in my video they'd probably be a nice alternative to Christmas Crackers or if you're organising a game where people need an individual something secret (like charades)

Do check out the video showing you how to make them here:

I hope this inspires you to create

Something Saturday - Perfectly Pencilled meets Fabulous Frames (quick Wow card)

 Hi there Creators

I bought this Perfectly Pencilled papers, as they are so gorgeous, but I don't really feel like colouring them in all the time (and I know some of my customers are not fans of colouring in) so thought I should come up with a quick and easy idea for making the most of them.....

I was thinking that Spotlighting on the paper would be quite pretty, and I guess this is a kind of "spotlighting"

This is the card I initially made:  Although at the time of the video I hadn't added the saying, what I've done is just coloured in the frames part of the card,

Perfectly Pencilled Papers, Fabulous Frames, Stampin' Up!

In the video I had planned something different to what actually took place 🤣 having said that I then had to make another card (see after this one) to show what I was going to do!

This is the card I made in the video: where I just turned round a couple of the pieces to display the other side of the designer paper instead,  I possibly could have got away without colouring it, but the leaves in the center really only needed minimal colouring!

What I had planned to show off in the video was just colouring the layers with dauber or blending brushes like this:

Something Saturday - Alphabest Bundle

 Hi there Creators

Today I am showing off the Alphabest Bundle, which has a cute little punch "Best Label" punch and a matching alphabet stamp set.

I mention in the video that I saw the punch in the catalogue and for some reason my mind automatically thought it was double the size, until it arrived 🤣 At that point I decided on getting the alphabest stamp set to go with it, and I'm so glad I did, it's a great size for an alphabet, and I love being able to punch out all the letters.

Anyway on to what I've created with it......  This is the first card I made before the video, although I have now finished it off with some extra tassels on the side, made by taking a couple of lengths of twine tying a knot in the middle of it and sticking it down.  I love the stamp that gives the lines behind the letters in the "hello".

Alphabest bundle, Stampin' Up!

I worked out that if I added all the letters to one block that only had to be stamped once, then the ones that needed 2x stamping to a different block and there was only one that needed 3x, so that was on a different block (definite advantage to punching each letter out!😉)

Then this is the card I made in the video, I've added again extra tassels and the pretty little flowers stamp at the top Click here to see the products I used: What Heather Used

Gee I can see myself using this stamp set and punch a fair bit!

Something Saturday - Let's Mask Again

 Hi there Creators,

This week I am showing off these new Artistic Mix Decorative Masks.  I love the way you can layer them up, and create a heap of different looks (they're actually even better than I thought they were!)  and at only $17.50 a bit of a bargain!  I used my blending brushes to brush the colour over them onto the card.

In the video I show off creating backgrounds with them, but don't show off the finished cards, so here we go...... they are actually very simple cards just with a bit of ribbon and the odd embellishment, only 2 of them actually have extra cardstock - the Christmas one uses the Label Me Lovely Punch, and the blue one at the top of the second photo just uses 2 cut squares.  The others are all stamped directly on top of the masking (I like economical card-making 😉)

You might remember the Wisteria Wishes stamp set I've been using recently?  this first card uses the flowers upside down to create trees to make a Christmas card (never too early to create Christmas cards!)

June's Class Cards

 Hi There Creators

I'm sure I say this at the end of each month, but where did May go to?!  can't believe we're almost 1/2 way through the year already.

June's classes are on Wednesday 1st at 10.30am and Thursday 2nd at 7pm both in Laanecoorie in my classroom, then also on Saturday 4th at 10.30am in Maryborough.

Some of my "new stuff" came, and of course it's hard to resist using it lol

This first card uses the gorgeous Starry Sky Ink and Natures Prints bundle of Stamps with matching dies  for a list of what I've used check out this link:  What Heather used

Natures Prints, Stampin' Up!

Next up are the fish.... Using A Fish and a Wish Bundle (Stamps and Punch) No new colours in this one, just some lovely brights. Along with the beautiful bright Glossy Dots Assortment.  Check out all the goodies I used here:   What Heather Used

A Fish & a Wish, Stampin' Up!

I thought I should use a stamp set that has had very little use (at least out of my stamp sets)  In the Moment Stamp Set, I've done a spot of Paper Piecing on the girl and teamed her up with the Beautiful Shapes Dies for the saying.  To see what I used click here: What Heather Used

In the Moment stamps, stampin' Up!

And Lastly is this one, I seem to be surrounded by people who are actually quite good at gardening (I'm not!) however I can make a card for someone who is lol...  so here I've used the Home & Garden Bundle along with the Butterflies & Flowers masks.  Check out what I used here: What Heather Used

Home & Garden, Stampin' Up!

Looking forward to seeing whoever can make it to the classes (make sure you book your place - especially in Laanecoorie)  Let me know which is your favourite!

Something Saturday - Quilted Card

 Hi Creators,

Today I'm showing off how to create a quilted pattern for a card, I recently found a card I'd made some time ago, with this on it, I figured I'd resurrect it as I think it's really pretty!

However let's show you the cards.....

Flowering Fields Paper, Stampin' Up!, Flowering Tulips StampFlowering Fields Paper, Stampin' Up!, Flowering Tulips Stamp

Flowering Fields Paper, Stampin' Up!, Flowering Tulips Stamp
To make these cards I used the Beautiful Shapes Dies, in particular the largest plain circle, I cut 9 of these from the pretty paper, plus one from scrap paper

The Scrap paper one I folded into quarters, then drew the straight lines to create a square (so I could work out what size template square I needed)  measured that up and cut a square from thicker card to be my template:

I then folded my pretty paper circles round the square, removed the square and pressed them down properly.

Once all were folded I then stuck them onto a spare square of cardstock (I made mine 8cm square as I knew the length of the pattern would be 9cm and I didn't want the card to show underneath)

when you're sticking them on, start in the middle and work your way out!

To see what I used check out this link: What Heather Used

If  you didn't catch the video, here it is....

I hope this inspires you to create, and I'd love to see what you make so feel free to email or post in the comments!

Hi There Creators Today I'm showing off an old card fold I created a few years back, and had a request to do a video on it, - Yay love r...
