Thankyou for joining me today, I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, since 2008. My blog will show you how to make cards and projects using Stampin' Up!'s fabulous products. And occasionally random extra stuff (that's the way I roll 🤣) Please do sign up to receive my emails, so you get my latest info.
Today I decided to have a go at something that's been brewing in my brain, and I'm happy with the way it turned out, not sure if there's a specific name for cards like this or if this is a Heather special!
The idea is to stamp a nice colourful image for the underneath image, then the same image as a plain image non-coloured in or less decorative. This one then gets cut up with a series of dies that allow a small gap between them. I thought it would be cool if the top image is raised and the best way I found of doing this was to add Foam Adhesive sheets to the back before it's cut, gives it a nice sturdy lift, plus saves faffing around with mini dimensionals and trying to cut them down!
Anyway here are the photos of the finished cards, and you end up making 2 cards out of the one cut!
Today I'm showing you how to make the card that Paula (Yellow Bear Stamping) was showing off when we were together in New Zealand (couple of weeks ago in my video) see the video here: Live Video with Paula
I have no idea if it has a special name, she found it on Connie Stewarts blog (from USA), so now I'm borrowing it and changing it (as I do....) see my measurements down the bottom.
Here is the "original style" card that I made: (click the links to see the products)
I also made this one which I show in the video, but uses a retired Designer Paper, the saying is current though😊 it's from Beautiful Butterflies.
Now for the measurements:
Take your standard A5 sized card, score it in 1/2 at 10.5cm, then each of the sides in 1/2 again (easiest way is 5.25cm in from either side.)
Don't fold the side bits!
Now cut 5cm up a slit from one score line to the next, and repeat on the other side, so you have 2 parallel cut lines in the middle of card that go from the outer score line to the other outer score line. (hopefully that makes sense!, if not watch the video below)
Then you need some Designer paper, I measured it 5 3/4" x 4", and a further piece 5 3/4" x 5cm, see the video for how to cut it, as it's a bit hard to describe! (sorry)
Then you'll need something for your saying to go on I used die cuts but you don't have to
And either a full card to add to the back for the Landscape card or an A6 piece for the back for the portrait card.
Oh my goodness we're at the 1st March, where did the last 2 months go?! Thought I'd better hop on and let you know what we'll be making for our cards in March.
Classes are Friday 7th at 1pm my classroom in Laanecoorie, and 10.30am in Maryborough, the Wattle City Church 19 Argyle Road.
Class cost is $24 for 4 cards
Ok moving onto the cards themselves......
there are new Online products and I couldn't resist using some of them to create these😃
As I mention in the video I saw this idea on Facebook and just had to have a go and then was so excited I had share it with you too! Oh such a cool way to use the Stampin' Up! masks!
You will need a Silicone Craft Sheet (Or Silly Cone, as one of my friends says 🤣) Masks and a Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (and of course cardstock)
this next one uses the Linked Together Decorative masks (although I should have brushed colour on before I stuck everything down, so it is a bit patchy. The Dies are again the Birthday Celebrations, which actually does come as a rather nice bundle with a stamp set, check it out here: Birthday Celebrations Bundle.
And last but not least, this uses the last Linked Together mask in the background and also the Layers of Beauty Bundle (masks, Stamps and dies) it's soooo gorgeous when you put it all together!
If you missed the video on how to do this, here it is...
Today we're checking out one of the new kits, I have to say WOW!, maybe it's the holographic blingy bits (ooooo bling....🤣) if you're a regular reader of my blog or watch my YouTube or Facebook channels then you'll know I can't resist bling. Anyway check out the kit here: Brightest Birthday Kit
And here are the cards it makes.... oh and their matching (also blingy) envelopes.
Then you'll notice on the first card with the balloons it has a box that has the holographic outline, which is actually a sticker, so in the video I show you how to get the sticker off and onto a separate piece of card without having to pick it off and re-piece it yourself.
And this is the card I made with it: I probably should have used the same Azure Afternoon colour, but I had this piece of Shy Shamrock hanging around my desk, so chose to use that instead, and seeing as the star stamp hadn't been used I figured I should put it into action. Its not a bad little stamp set that comes with the kit and it has the mini Azure Afternoon ink spot in it too 😃
I cannot believe it took me this long to get this punch 🤣 Once I started creating with it I actually had to stop myself to get on and do other things!! If you don't have it I totally recommend getting it! See this link: Petal Park Builder Punch.
So in the video I create kind of 3D flowers using it, by curling the flowers, cutting them to the middle and overlapping one of petals on top of the one beside it, then layering the 3 flowers on top of each other, which looks really pretty..... (had to start with the most complicated 🤣) I also incorporated the beautiful Stamp set " You are Beautiful", and the Sunny Day Iridescent dots (one of my fav embellishments currently)
Then I thought I'd better just use them as they are without the cuts, and created this card
And lastly simpler still, no layering the flowers and they still look lovely! I stuck to the same colours for all 3 cards, the leaves done with Granny Apple Green Ink and the writing in Berry Burst Ink
then I really had to drag myself away to do other things 🤣 But I'm pretty sure if you're part of my classes this punch will work its way into them, watch this space as they say!
Well today in the video I show off the Sale-a-Bration Catalogue (SAB for short). For every $100 of goodies you purchase you can pick for free from the Sale-a-Bration Catalogue (Woo Hoo!💖)
There is another bonus with SAB is that if you fancy joining Stampin' Up! there is a ripper of deal, (well actually there's 2 deals, one I think is better than the other)
Deal 1 (in my humble opinion the better deal) you pick out $235 of goodies, and only pay $169, then on top of this you also pick out 2 of the Stampin' Write Marker Sets (Brights/Regals/Subtles or Neutrals) these are worth $62.50 each, for free PLUS you get an exclusive rather lovely stamp set worth $37
Deal 2: pick out $286 of goodies and only pay $169
Just ask me if you want more info, or you can check out my Stampin' Up! website here: Join my Team
Ok so onto the kit, it makes 6 cards (approx these ones), I say approx, because I accidentally put the wrong size dotty rainbow on 2 of them🤣
Then I had a piece left over that the dotty rainbows came out of, and felt a need to use it!, so this is what eventuated.....
here is the piece..
And this was the first card, I used the Make a Wish from Birthday Celebration Stamp set (which actually has really cool dies with it, so I've given you the bundle link) I've added a couple of bows as "pots at the end of the rainbow"🤣 and some of the amazing Sunny Day Iridescent Dots which incidentally I also added to the cards above!
Then this one I teamed up with one of the other Sale-a-Bration products "Day to Celebrate" to create the streamers and saying.
