Something Saturday - Ripped Cards

 Hi there Creators,

today I was mulling over what it would look like if rather than curling the ends like I did to create the scroll cards, I just ripped the cardstock, I rather like the effect and *bonus* you get 2 cards out of one ripping session 🤣 (and let's face it there's a certain satisfaction gained from ripping paper! lol)

Ok so the first 2 cards I'd made before the video, I had ripped kind of "triangles" out.  You'll need 2 pieces of Designer Paper (probably with a smallish pattern would be best), and you attach the ripped off pieces to one and the remainder to the other:

The first card shows the piece that I ripped the bits out of, and the second is the ripped out pieces. I used designer paper and white cardstock that measured 9.5cm x 13.8cm that way I could add a mat if I wanted to of 10cm x 14.3cm (which I did in the second lot of cards)

I've gone with using the beautiful Hues of Happiness Designer Papers, and my "go to" sayings stamp set - Inspired Thoughts, it's such a handy set!

Then in the video I show off some new goodies I've just received: The Lights Aglow Suite, Oh my goodness! I really need to find time to play with the stamps and dies too lol  anyway, for starters I've used the Lights Aglow specialty papers (oh I love Gold.....)  All the sheets have gold foiling on them, ummmm, the goldfish is coming out in me.  Also used some of the Festive Pearls in both cards, they're really rather pretty, I can see myself using them a lot!  As I mention in the video they're a lot smaller in real life than in print (actually about 1/4 of the size).

Anyway I'm pretty sure you want to see how the cards turned out, I've used the Brightest Glow stamp set, which is in the suite.  I'm going to have to remember this ripped cards technique, I love the way the cards turned out.

Something Saturday - Give it a Whirl Dies

 Hi There Creators

My video this week is on how to use the Give it a Whirl Dies (kind of wishing I'd got them sooner!)  Anyway I show off how I use them, and showed these first 2 cards that I'd created, since then I've made up the next 2, so it shows off all the 4 windows/apertures in the die set.

This first card uses the Trees for Sale Stamp set

This second card uses the fabulous Alphabest bundle (stamps and punch)  I couldn't fit all the letters in a row, but I think it works ok lol.

Then these last 2 are the ones I hadn't made up in the video, I went with Love, Joy and Peace in the rectangular peep hole, and embossed the front with the Whimsical Woodland 3D folder

Thought I'd better show you what I used to sandwich the 2 parts together, so the spinner piece will spin! these Foam Adhesive strips are so useful.

And I got the clouds in - Yay! lol this card I just added the designer paper to the whole wheel so as it moves round it's constant flowers, such pretty designer paper: "Hues of Happiness"  I really felt a need to do a "pretty" card and I love the way the clouds have come out using the Highland Heather and Mint Macaron.

Cards for August classes

 Hi there Creators,

Well isn't August sneaking up on us fast!  We're back to our usual 3 classes in August: Wed 3rd at 10.30am (Laanecoorie), Thursday 4th 7pm (Laanecoorie) and Saturday 6th 10.30am (Maryborough). $20 for the 4 cards - You need to book for Laanecoorie, Maryborough you can just turn up, (although it's nice for me to know approx numbers)

I hope you can come and join us (more the merrier!)

Anyway on to the cards for the month......

First up I'm using the fabulous Wonderful World (we only have till the end of August to use it, so I thought I'd better!)  It's a Sale-a-Bration set, and combined with the designer papers you need to spend $180 to get both the stamps and papers for free (no other way to get them 😢)  Combined with the Decorative Circle Punch, and the gorgeous Sequins & Gems (that seriously look all like gems rather than sequins! - so pretty!)

Wonderful World, Stampin' Up!
Moving on to more "prettiness" if that's a word - if not I'm going with it anyway lol.

This one uses the Splendid Day Specialty papers, and the scrolled back technique, with flowers from the Flowers of Friendship stamp set, cut out with the flowers & leaves punch

splendid day papers, flowers of friendship, Stampin' Up!
These next 2 are an either/or, this stamp set North Pole Mischief cracked me up when I saw it, and having cats and a dog in the family, it felt so appropriate!  I've used the Stitched Greenery Die in the background.

North Pole Mischief, Stampin' Up!

And last but not least, I'm still in love with this Snow Crystal stamp!  I've embossed it in black (gotta go the black ice 😉) then used the blending brushes to brush colour over it.  It really is a stunning stamp!
Snow Crystal, Stampin' Up!

And that's it!  if you can't join us I do hope this inspires you to create.
Don't forget Sale-a-Bration is still on till end of August, so if you spend $90+ you get a free SAB product, or if you host a party, and the orders are $500+ you get the Perfect Pomegranate Stamp set for free, or you can join with the amazing choose $235 of goodies and only pay $169 plus you'll receive the beautiful Making Plans Collection (Planner/Notebook and stamp set)

Something Saturday - Elastic Bands

 Hi there Creators

Yep I'm using elastic bands to stamp with this week!  Actually you can get some really cool patterns for your backgrounds by twisting rubber bands round your clear blocks and using them to stamp.

It's quite a short video this week, and I don't finish off the cards so here they are for you to check out....

this is the one I had made up to begin with using the really cute Sale-a-Bration set  Hippest Hippos, I've coloured in the little ballerina with Stampin' Blends , and it really makes her pop out of the page!  I've also used the Decorative Circle Punch to punch her out.

HIppest Hippos, Stampin' Up!
The other 2 cards were an "either/or" situation as I ended up double siding them with pattern, so this is the side I chose for this one, and it the blue streaks reminded me of ice, so I couldn't resist using this Snow Crystal Stamp (have to admit it's one of my favourites at the moment!)
Snow Crystal, Stampin' Up!

This one was also stamped on both sides, but I really liked the grungy look of this side, so I paired it up with these lovely bold words from Biggest Wish stamp set (one of my "go to" stamp sets when I'm looking for some useful words), and as I didn't want to overstate things with embellishments I chose the Classic Matte Dots (nicely understated!)😉

Biggest Wish, Stampin' Up!

Let me know if you have a go, and if you feel like sharing I'd love to see your creations 😊

Something Saturday -Snow Crystal Stamp 3 colour heat embossed

 Hi there Creators,

In my video this week I show how to pop 3 different embossing powders onto this gorgeous Snow Crystal (159821 $37) stamp set.

Here are the cards I have made up after the video with the embossed pieces: I decided the Gold & Rose Gold Metallic Specialty paper went really well with it, so the first has the rose gold and the 2nd has the gold.  I've picked out a a saying from Trees for Sale (159785 $39), which also goes with the "Tree Lot" dies (a Sale-a-bration set you can get for free when you purchase $180)  I  might try and show this off next week actually, as it's got a really cute caravan in it too, umm stay tuned......

Snow Crystal, Stampin' Up!

Snow Crystal, Stampin' Up!

You'll notice these also have a pretty little sequin in the middle too, this is from the new Adhesive Backed Sequins and Gems (159972 $13.25)  I have to say that the sequins look more like gems, and I thought they were till I went to pick one off the backing!

Oh and, to do the saying, as it is all on one line, I have "masked off" the opposite side of the stamp set with a bit of sticky note, then inked it up, removed the sticky note and stamped: see the photo below

Do check out what I used for the cards here: What Heather Used

If you've missed the video and would like to see it - here it is!

I hope this inspires you to dig out your heat embossing gear and get creating!

Craft Alive Wodonga Friday & Saturday presentation

Hi Creators,
Here I am at Craft Alive Wodonga Friday I did a live video showing how to use the Stampin Write Markers to colour in the gorgeous Wonderful World stamps  (you can get the stamps and matching papers for free when you purchase $180 of goodies)
Here are the cards I presented, I love that using the pens allows you to colour one stamp in multiple colours - aren’t these stamps stunning?
Wonderful World, Stampin' Up!

To cut the A4 card to the right sizes: the white layer is 7x9.9cm (cut your A4 card into 3 even sections each way). The coloured card is 10.5x 7.4cm (to get this cut the A4 card in 1/2 to A5 then 1/2 again to A6 and 1/2 again)

Saturday I showed how to decorate one of the Craft Gift Boxes using the Wonderful World papers, and I put together this gorgeous box to house the cards plus a couple more cards made using the “left over” bits from the box:  I’ve used the Kraft Gift boxes which the C6 envelopes and matching A6 cards fit into beautifully 😀
Wonderful World, Stampin' Up!

During the video I said I'd give the measurements for the layers on the box, so the base plain colour for the two large sides (top & bottom) are 16cm x11cm and the designer paper that sits on top is 6"x4".  On one of these you'll need to cut the hole for the top - I used the Fabulous Frames Dies.  Line up the base card with the designer paper on top, place the die in the middle, and run through your cutting machine (in my case the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine)

Then for the two (or three) long thin sides you'll need base plain colour 16cm x 1.8cm and designer paper measuring 6" x 1/2".

And here are the 2 cards made with the bits I cut out from the middle - gotta love the Fabulous Frames dies!

And the whole lot together - I might make a couple more cards then I reckon it would make a lovely gift 💝

 Wonderful World, Stampin' Up!

This is the sheet I made up with all the items I used for my presentation  however you can check out this link instead:  What Heather Used which should take you to my website and show you all the goodies (except apparently the Wonderful World stamps & Papers that wouldn’t attach - you can pick them out as your freebies at the end)

I hope this inspires you to create

God Bless love

Something Saturday - Delicate Edges Dies

 Hi there Creators

Today I thought I'd show off these gorgeous Delicate Edges Dies (they were on my "must get" list) and I haven't been disappointed!  I thought I'd show case a couple of unusual ways of using them, so here goes......

In the video I show making your own stamps out of them, using them as masks and more.

This first card shows how I finished off the piece that I had masked back to back, makes such a pretty border!  I used the blending brushes to add the colour and I find it gets into the "cracks" easier than the daubers do.  I've used the Biggest Wish Stamp set for all these cards (such a handy stamp set!) And I couldn't resist using the Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels, they just go with everything!

Delicate Edges Dies, Stampin' Up!
Next up I've used the 2 negative pieces from the die cut and coloured in between them - remarkably easy to do with this die!
Delicate Edges Dies, Stampin' Up!
and here's the actual piece that was cut out, I've used the fabulous Artistic Mix Decorative Masks for the background
Delicate Edges Dies, Stampin' Up!
And in case you're wondering where did she get that fluffy twine......  yep I've dismantled the White Frayed ribbon 🤣
Then lastly I've used the stamp I created with the die to make this card
Delicate Edges Dies, Stampin' Up!
The Birthday kind of got lost in the background so I've gone with gold embossing, which shows up way better in the "flesh"!  I've also added some of the Old Olive & Sahara Sand Twill Ribbon, I kind of figure it can be a "guy" card 😃

If you haven't seen the video, here it is....

I hope these inspire you to create
