How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper Cards

Hi Creators,
I've made a YouTube video on these 6 cards, and wanted to pop it in writing too, so here goes!

I wanted to show how you can take a Designer Series Paper pack add one stamp set and create a heap of cards quick and easily from it. (I used Birthday Cheer stamp set, which coincidentally has a fabulous die set to go with it!, and of course it comes as a bundle, so you can get 10% off it *yay, gotta love bundles*),

First up, cutting your cardstock, I've added white cardstock as my base card and a piece cut to 10.5cm x 7.4cm.   As I don't like to waste cardstock, you'll find that A4 cut in 1/2 creates A5 (14.8cm x 21cm). which you can fold in 1/2 at 10.5cm and create your base card. Then cut A5 in half (10.5x14.8), and in half again gives you the 10.5x7.4cm, and you have the perfect size for a focal piece for your card.

On to the cards I've used the How Sweet it is Designer Series Paper which will be available from tomorrow! in the new Occasions Catalogue.  It has some great images you can just cut out.  When I've made these cards, I've created the focal piece as a separate entity, then added it to the background - hopefully that makes sense!

I've taken my white focal piece, stamped the 2 sayings, and sponged round the edge, then taken the Designer Series Paper (I'll call it DSP) and the jar is cut from one of the sheets added to the middle of the white focal piece, this piece is now finished.  The pink background is DSP cut to 4x6", then a 1cm slice taken off the end to fit it onto your card.   (keep the slice as it's used in another card!)
Again I've decorated up my focal piece first, so this one I've stamped with the confetti type stamp all over, then added the saying, and sponged round the edge.  Then taking the DSP I've cut out the cupcake, sweeties and jelly beans, added them on.  And (you'll start to see a pattern forming here) the background DSP cut to 6x4", with 1cm trimmed off the end.
I think you'll be getting to grips with this by now but the white focal piece gets stamped first and sponged round the edge, then I've used one of the 1cm cut off strips to give the gumball machine something to "stand" on, again the gumball machine is cut out from the DSP, as are the jelly beans and teddy.  Again using the 6x4" DSP with 1cm cut off the end for the base stripy colour. (I really like these stripes!)
This one uses 2 of the 1cm strips, again cut out the jars from the DSP, sponge round the edge, I've stamped last with this one, so I knew how much room I had.
Definitely stamp the sayings first with this one! and sponge round the white focal piece, then fit the cut out pieces in, there are a few lollypops that are coming off the edge of the page, which is what I've used here, hence the top lollypop doesn't have much of a stick!
This one again stamp and sponge round the edge first, there is a cupcake which is half off the paper, I've used this to create the green scalloped layer on this cupcake.  When it comes to the 4x6" background I've just folded over a 1/2 cm at each end, and stuck it down, rather than cutting off the 1cm on this one.

In case you'd like to check out the video, here it is.......
thanks for reading this blog post, and I hope it has inspired you to dig out your DSP, and start creating with it.  If you'd like to purchase anything, these products will be available from the 3rd Jan, and if you haven't got your own catalogue and would like one, please let me know and I'll get one out to you!

Inspired by Craft Room cleanup

Hi all you lovely Creators!

Well it's Boxing Day so I figured I could spend a couple of hours cleaning up my craft room in preparation for the new catalogues coming in January.
Ha ha!, so I started to clean my desk space, and came across all these bits of pre-cut stuff, from extras I've had after teaching a class, or experiments I was playing with.  Which then of course I had 2 choices; do something with them or chuck them in my "I'll get to that later box/ give it to someone else to do something with box".  This time I figured why not do something with it........ (yeah you can see how the cleaning up the craft room is going lol)

However it has given me something to share with you, and they're all really simple projects from left over stuff, that let's face it most people have (especially if you've been crafting for some time)
I've grouped them into categories (made slightly more than I'd anticipated, and still there's stuff left over!)

Ok so first category, Christmas, cos otherwise it'll sit there for another year!
I had some pre-cut circles, snowflakes, and some roughly cut pieces of the ultra cute Santa's Workshop Designer Series Paper, which sadly is sold out, but amazingly the Signs of Santa stamp set and dies are still available, if you want them make sure you order asap! I really liked the Merry Christmas from Mistletoe Season Stamp set to go with these quirky images

Then on to some pre-cut Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper, and Calypso Coral cardstock that I'd used in a class at some point....

And then a Birthday selection, this one combines some of the new goodies coming out on the 3rd January and some panels of Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper - just so you know, the reason this is "Specialty" paper is because it has an amazing pearly sheen to each sheet (on each side)  there's still some left, so again, if you want some get in quick, last day to order it will be 2nd Jan!

Moving on you might be relieved to know these are the last ones I created earlier😊. One more panel of the Frosted Floral DSP, as well as a long thin panel of Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper (this one is special because of the Copper foiling - which you can't see on this sheet lol) and incredibly there's still some of this DSP left too, so if you want some get it quick!
the second card in the above picture uses one of the new hostess stamp sets, which i can't link to yet as it's not available till 3rd Jan, however it's called "Just Because", I'd already pre-stamped/coloured and cut it out, and had the piece of Calypso Coral already cut, and also the Copper foil scallop circle, so added a couple of leaves from the Christmas stamp set - Mistletoe Season, I think they go quite nicely with it!

I hope this inspires you to dig out your scraps and do something with them!

Team "Open Classroom" & Sneak Peeks!

So over the last couple of days I've been holding an "Open Classroom" for members of my team to come and check out some of the new products.

I had 3 cards for them to come and create with me too, which I thought I'd share with you as little "sneak peeks". First up a new Stamp set and Punch, Butterfly Gala Stamp set, and Butterfly duet punch, as the name suggests it cuts out 2 butterflies in one hit!  Also a touch of new Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper.
Next up I couldn't resist using one of the new Sale-a-bration products, when you purchase $180 of products during Sale-a-Bration (Jan to March) you can choose this stamp set for FREE!  Oh my goodness it's beautiful, it uses the "Distinktive" technology for the stamp which gives the stamp such depth with only stamping!
Then lastly the Forever Lovely stamp set and matching Lovely Flowers Edgelit dies, wow it's pretty!, and so cool the way the stamps line up with the dies!
there were so many other stamps/papers etc which my team got to view as well.

If you've been considering joining my team, do let me know, there's so many benefits to being a demonstrator, not least the discount on the products!  there is a joining special at the moment, click here to view it: Joining Special.

I hope this whets your appetite for the upcoming catalogues!

Cards for December classes

Hi There!
Well not long till December, and the tree can go up!   And also my last classes for the year.  As the first of these classes is on this Saturday, thought I'd better get myself into gear and show you the cards!
first up..... I just love this So Santa Stamp set, he always makes me smile! and I figured the palm leaves from the Tropical Thinlits would make it feel like an Aussie'ish Christmas :)
Next up, I've been meaning to use the glossy cardstock and shimmer paints for a while and keep forgetting, so finally.....
I may have gone a little beserk with this one, as once I had one made I had to try out all the other colours lol, first up Champagne Mist
 then Frost White
 And Bright Copper
Lastly Vegas Gold
looks way better in real life!
After that I thought I should maybe start going back to a little more traditional, I like Purple on Christmas cards as I think it's very regal, so I've used Rich Razzleberry on this one, as well as the gold embossing (the words down the bottom are gold embossed too, but it's hard to show on the photo!) I've used the His Light Stamp set for the wording and the Star of Light stamp set for the gorgeous star and swirl of stars
Then I thought maybe not quite traditional enough for some, so..... back to the Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce.  Love, love love this Delicate lace edgelits, how gorgeous is it?  then I've also used the box....Christmas Traditions Punch Box of course!
And that is our line up of cards!  If you'd like to make more of some do let me know, as I'll make sure I have extra cardstock for you!

Class dates are
  • this Saturday 1st at 10am,
  • Tuesday 11th at 7.30pm and
  • Wednesday 12th at 10.30am
then we'll be taking a break till a MEGA CLASS on Wednesday 23rd January, where we'll be doing a special "Birthday Bonanza" class, more about that to follow (stay tuned!)

I hope you can join me for this last class for the year, if not I hope these have inspired you to create in your own space over Christmas!

God Bless love

GDP164 Entry

Hi Stampers
I've been meaning to enter the Global Design Project Challenge for a while, I did a few quite a long time ago, and keep getting the emails and forgetting, so this time it went on my list!, and I combined it with my thankyou card for the month!, so if you order from me in November, you can expect to receive this at some point.

However first up, the challenge...... This time it's a CASE "Copy and Selectively Edit" by Louise Sharp, here is her card.

http://www.global-design-project.com/2018/11/global-design-project-164-case-designer.html
I liked the layout of her card, so that is what I chose to go with for mine, I've also included a "sneak peek" of a new product called "Bloom by Bloom, which I received (for free) recently at the Stampin' Up! conference called "On Stage"  and here it is.....
I made 2 versions one in White and one in Vanilla, so then of course had to use 2 different ribbons! I think I prefer the white with the polka dot tulle ribbon over the Vanilla with the Calypso Coral Ombre Ribbon, which do you prefer?  The background paper is the beautiful Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper.

Also thought I'd mention how I created the graded effect on the flower
I started off inking the whole stamp with Flirty Flamingo, then daubed Melon Mambo onto the bottom of it, then stamped, giving that different grades of pink look, you have to make sure you dab it and not swipe, as it doesn't work if you swipe, you end up with an incomplete image.

Soon Sale a Bration and the new Occasions Catalogues will be here! if you have ordered from me in the last year, you will be receiving the new Catalogues through the mail (or in person) once I am able to order them, if not or you're not sure, and you'd like me to get one to you, do let me know, and I'll make sure I get them to you
20190103_OCC19_en-SP20190103_SAB19-1_en-SP
Don't forget if you order during November and your order is over $125 you will qualify for my free Bonus gift, your choice of a Shimmer Paint, if your order is between $125 and $250 pop this hostess code in  RJZEGMNQ if it's over $250 you'll qualify for free hostess $'s for yourself, so don't put the hostess code in!

I hope you have been inspired to create with this!
God Bless love

Coffee & Cards November

Hi Stampers,
So Coffee & Cards is on again next Wednesday (21st) in Dunolly, thought I'd share the projects we'll be making, firstly I have a confession to make, I am a Shaded Spruce Addict!  It would appear that I really have to drag myself away from this colour to use other ones lol.  Also I've decided to make a determined effort to start using some of my gorgeous Designer Series Papers, as I tend to love them so much that I can't bear to use them!

Anyway, onto some cards that just so happen to use Shaded Spruce!  And they both use the gorgeous Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper, that has those lovely coppery foil bits, I've paired this one up with my favourite ribbon it's so soft and pliable (and totally my colours!) Merry Merlot and Copper Reversible Ribbon, and the Christmas Traditions Punch Box (stamps and punch).

The other card we'll be creating (let's face it its too close to Christmas now not to make Christmas cards!)  So again I've used the Joyous Noel Designer Series Paper, Oh fancy that it's got Shaded Spruce in it lol, I have used a ribbon that isn't shaded spruce but it does tone nicely - Tranquil Tide ruffled ribbon.  I've also found a great use, under the saying, for the mini boxwood wreath, which I've been meaning to use for ages! Saying and punch from the Christmas Traditions Punch Box again.
If you are planning to come along or interested in joining us, do let me know, we meet at 10am at the Dunolly Bakery.
I hope these cards inspire you to create!
God Bless love

Something Saturday - Swaps I received at Backstage

Hi There Creators, Well as most of you know I went to a Stampin' Up! leadership event called Backstage in Las Vegas recently, I made up...
