Something Saturday - Origami Envelopes

Image
Hi There Creators, Guess what? it's that time of the week again for Something Saturday!😃 This week I happened to be scrolling through Facebook and came across this origami envelope quick video, so I have deciphered the video (you know how they do it and it's so fast!) And I've worked out if you do it with 12x12" cardstock you get an envelope worthy of a card, and a 6x6" piece gives you a gift card sized envelope. Here they are: then I'll try and explain how to make them...... This first one is made using one of the 12x12" pieces of  Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper and this smaller one uses one of the 6x6" pieces of Full of Life Designer Series Paper Now, how to create these envelopes: take your square piece of designer cardstock, and fold in 1/2 diagonally Open it up and fold one side in to the middle: then fold as shown: open up the bottom flap and fold in the sides fold up the bottom tuck the point bit inside the envelope (you might want t...

Daisy Lane Stamp set

Hi Creators,
Today I thought I'd mix the old with the new, New Stamp set and punch - old colours.

Stampin' Up have a 3 Tier's of Stampers system currently, Beginner Stamper, Casual Crafter and Avid Stamper (no prizes for guessing which category I'm in lol).   However I thought yesterday I'd try out a series of 3 cards 1 for each category using exactly the same stamp set and accessories.

So for the beginner Stamper, it's kept as basic as possible #simplestamping I've picked 3 colours, a pair of Paper Snips (scissors) my Daisy Lane stamp set and an embellishment (Oh and a dimensional)
The colours I chose are Berry Burst, Tranquil Tide and Powder Pink, which sadly we're saying goodbye to as they are the In Colours that are retiring with this current catalogue :(  I've stamped the stem first, then added the large flower and saying, the small flower is stamped on spare Vanilla card, and cut out with the paper snips, and then it covers the gap between the stem and the flower, up on a dimensional, and the last touch is to add the Gold Faceted Gem. The idea for the beginner stamper is to show what you can create without needing to have heaps of stampin' goodies!  So Potentially with this card, you could go with the Vanilla Notecards and envelopes which cost $11.25 and you get 20 (only 61c for a card and envelope), then I figured might as well have the pack of the 5 in colours which when you buy the as a pack it saves you on the overall total of buying them separately, so that's $58.50 for the 5 together. (although if you just wanted the 3 it would be $39) then there's the stamp set, in this case Daisy Lane (which I can't link to as it's not yet available) but I can say it's $40, and lastly the Gem, which for a pack of 72 is only $8.75 (wow 12c per gem!)  I'm going with the assumption that most people can find a pair of scissors :) The overall initial cost being between $99 and $118.50, which initially works out to between $5.21 and $6.23 per card, based on 19 cards (sacrificing a card to use for cutting up) however, then you only need to buy more vanilla cardstock and you have everything else, so the next lot of cards you make spiral down to 59c per card!!  I challenge you to find as nice a card for that price in a shop!
HOWEVER....  moving onwards to the Casual Crafter I have this:
again I've used the same colours, a bit more of the vanilla cardstock with the addition of 2 panels one is 7.4cm x10.5cm (which is A4 cut into 8) and the other slightly smaller is 9.9cm x 10cm (which is A4 cut into 9) the larger panel I've sponged round the edge of with the Berry Burst ink, and also a little extra for the saying which uses a new punch Timeless label, (actually it's larger than this but I've punched it down to size) then added a little snippet of the new scalloped lace trim under it, and obviously the introduction of the fern stamp in the background (from the same stamp set)

Then lastly moving onto the "Avid Stamper" I have this:
I've folded the front of the card back onto itself to create a more unusual card, then used the smaller panel as a mask before stamping on it to create the place to write inside the card, then turned it over and done my flower, as it's backed onto the larger panel you don't see the extra stamped marks on the back of it, I've picked up the gold in the faceted gem and used some gold glimmer paper behind the saying (let's face it most avid stampers have sparkly glimmer papers! lol)

And that's it from me today, if you're planning to place an order for anything (especially retiring goodies) Click this link to see the retiring goodiesUse this hostess code to go in the draw to win the FREE Stampin' Rewards: KRVFSXJF unless you're order is over $250 in which case don't use the code as you'll be entitled to the rewards for yourself, or if you're part of my Craft@Home group, in which case use this code:  CY99NYVJ

Hope this has inspired to you create!
God Bless love
