Thankyou for joining me today, I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, since 2008. My blog will show you how to make cards and projects using Stampin' Up!'s fabulous products. And occasionally random extra stuff (that's the way I roll 🤣) Please do sign up to receive my emails, so you get my latest info.
Well, this week the video wasn't the longest, partly because I couldn't make up my mind how to finish off the card I am using the Take to the Sky Designer Series Paper (DSP for short). Partly as I don't yet own the stamp & die set "Adventurous Sky" which is happily in the the sale this month (there's 10% extra off stamp & die bundles till the end of June and also on the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machines)😁check out this link for all the bargains: 10% off Sale
So here we go.......
This is the card I was playing with, I ended up changing the base card colour to Copper Clay which comes out in the airplanes, I've used the Unbounded Love stamp set to go with this card (and actually all the cards in this post!)
The next card I made up I used the Everyday Details Dies to create the frame piece, the cool thing with this is that it creates an inside frame as well as an outside frame (ie the holes are on both sides of the die cut (if that makes sense?)
and here's the inside piece of the same die cut!
And that's it!
If you missed the video, here it is.....
I hope this inspires you to play with your designer papers
Today I wanted to create something that would show off both sides of the Designer Paper, I'd seen a design I liked, but of course in typical Heather style it didn't turn out the way I'd seen 🤣 Having said that I'm really happy with it, I've used the Mediterranean Blooms Paper, and YAY the Citrus Blooms dies actually cut out some of the paper (gotta love that!)
There is currently a special 10% off sale on the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machines, and also an extra 10% off on some of the Stamp & Die bundles (so you'll get 20% off as they already have 10% off them - if that makes sense)
So here is the card closed
Then as you open it up, you get to see the next layer of designer paper, and the inside of the designer Paper that is the outside cover.
Just realised I forgot to take a photo of the inside/inside bit lol, but when you lift the flap you see the lemons on the underside of the navy paper (you can see the pattern that was folded over at the bottom.
So..... to create this card I took
the outside sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP for short) cut down to 6", then scored at 4" and 8", then the front 2 flaps cut on a diagonal to a matching point up on each side (my point was about 2" up)
A 3 7/8" x 12" piece of DSP for the middle bit, folded in 1/2 at 6"
a 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of white cardstock to go inside the above piece (for writing on)
The inside DSP gets attached in the middle of the trifold DSP, then I folded up a section on the bottom to see the other side of the DSP (mine is about 1").
I also folded the outer flaps on the tri-fold DSP over to display both sides of the paper from the front
Then I decorated up with some pieces of the DSP cut out with the matching dies.
It's that time of year again, where I have my MEGA class coming up.
What is a Mega Class? Oh I'm so glad you asked🤣 Keep reading to find out......

This is such a fun stamp set to play with! I hope you'll be able to join in the class, either in person or by mail. Contact me for payment details.
This year Stampin' Up! have made a big deal of these ephemera packs (pronounced EFF-EM-ER-RA) and I did wonder what the heck it meant, so courtesy of Google: Ephemera: Something of no lasting significance.
usually used in plural. 2. ephemera plural : paper items (such as
posters, broadsides, and tickets) that were originally meant to be
discarded after use but have since become collectibles.
If you have a catalogue you'll find them on page 19, with a great stamp set too, but, as you'll see you can make this work without ink or a stamp in sight......
I may have sunk my teeth into all of the packs (and both sets of cards)😁 I had so much fun creating with these (which really surprised me). As one of the ladies I was chatting to about them said, "they'd make a fabulous gift for someone!" And considering the packs only cost $14 each, it's not a huge outlay either.
Here's what I came up with so far: Oh and I couldn't resist adding some bling, I went simple with the Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
Today I'm showing off a slider card, one of the presenters at the Stampin' Up! Onstage event we went to in Melbourne showed a similar card, so I thought I should have a go too 😍 I love the way it looks like the element is floating across the card.
Anyway here are the finished cards I made up:
I have used the Keeping Tabs bundle for the pull tab piece, and the Attention Shoppers Bundle for the cake, bottles & sayings, and also the Labelled with Love Punch (little note, if you plan to come to my July Mega Class you'll receive the Attention Shoppers stamp set and Labelled with Love Punch as part of your kit) Oooo so exciting!
To create these cards you'll need:
A Base Card (A5 folded in 1/2) which gives a front of 14.8cm x 10.5cm
A piece of (in this case) white cardstock 5mm shorter = 14.3cm x 10cm
A piece of Designer Paper 1/2cm smaller again = 13.8cm x 9.5cm
A long straight strip of card in this case 13cm x 3cm
And a smaller piece to attach the sliding image to.
(you'll also need the image you want to have sliding across the card, and other decorations)
I'm not sure I can do a decent job of explaining how to do this, so I recommend you watch the video!
And here it is.....
I hope I've inspired you to have a go at making one of these too, I think they're so much fun! (and really quite easy to make!)
I hope you can come and join us, do let me know if you plan to, as the space is limited in my classroom, and if you can't join in, I hope these inspire you to create.
Well today I thought I'd have a go at an "inchie" card, only mine (unsurprisingly for me) aren't inchies!
The idea behind it is that you have inch squares, which get attached to a background paper (which has been scored up before hand so you have lines to attach your inchies to, and embossed with an embossing folder, which then deletes the score lines.
However, as you have to cut your base card down to create an inchie card, I decided to do things "my way" hence "equivalent for an A4 brain"
Here are the 2 Inchie cards I received the first one from Simone my up-line as a swap at the Stampin' Up!event. She's used the beautiful vibrant Flowering Zinnias designer series paper and the second from Lee-Allan one of my down-line (which uses some paper that now I need to buy 🤣) check it out for yourself: Natures Sweetness Designer Series Paper
then I got onto creating one - my size using retired Designer Papers (you can never have enough Christmas cards in May 🤣)
then in the video I have a real dilemma of whether I should put my rectangles on straight or not, so I couldn't resist making one skewiff 🤣 (knew spell check wasn't going to like that word) I really like the effect and I've brushed over top of it to make the embossing stand out better (used one of the Basics 3D embossing folders)
Anyway I promised the measurements I've used, so here goes.....
My small rectangles are 3cm x 2.5cm (you need 6 each of 2 designs)
An A5 base card the front measures 10.5cm x 14.8cm
A mat to go onto the base card: 14.5cm x 10cm
A mat for the rectangles to sit on: 14cm x 9.5cm. This is then scored round the edges at 5mm in, then scored at the 1/2 way mark of 7cm, and up from the bottom by 3.5cm.
The score lines give you easy grid lines to add the rectangles onto so they're straight.
Once they're stuck down, you then run it through (ideally a busy looking) embossing folder, which then removes the score lines, and voila all done.
