Something Saturday - White Ink and Pastels

 Hi there Creators

I was at our church conference the other day and on the big screen they often have really cool patterns, one of the ones this time was gorgeous black background with rainbow shafts of light going through it, I often see these patterns and think I'm sure I can recreate that on cardstock🤣 Plus Mum the other day showed me something she'd been doing with a craft group she goes to, where you have the black cards that you scratch away the surface and reveal colours underneath (I used to love those as a kid!)

Just quickly before I go into the post in more detail, did you know that this month there was a heap of new products released to the Online Store? check them out here: New Goodies!

Back to it: here is my attempt, I quite like it, let me know what you think,  I've used, Craft White Ink pad, Sponge Daubers, the Soft Pastels Assortment, Black Cardstock, White heat embossing powder, and bling in the first card I've used the Rhinestone Basic Jewels, and the second card uses the Faceted Gems Trio Pack, and a spot of vellum for the sentiment.

White ink & pastels, Stampin' Up!

I also used a stencil/templatey thing I had left over from the Virtual Cardmaking Retreat for the hearts, daubing white ink over first then adding the colour, then remove the mask

White ink & pastels, Stampin' Up!

to create the effect it's actually quite simple!  take black cardstock, add white ink either over a template/stencil or just by swiping it on, then draw the pastels over top of the white ink, and "smudge" it in a bit, voila!

Let me know if you have a go.

If you missed the video here it is:

I hope this inspires you to create.
God Bless love
