Something Saturday - Click Clack Concertina Card

Image
Hi there Creators Well I was sitting last night wondering what to do for my Something Saturday, and playing around with a bit of paper, ended up designing this card, I've made similar cards before like the cascade cards, this is probably a bit more basic, but I'm happy with it and it's way simpler to create, but still packs a cool Woah factor🤣  I've used Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper which is on the last chance list. I decided it needed a sentiment so picked out this one from Sweetest Star Stamp set (last chance list again), because it has 6 words (1 for each panel!😃) and these Adhesive backed Snowflake Assortment are also on the last chance list and happen to be reduced to 1/2 price (woo hoo!) Ok, onto measurements.... You'll need a sheet of A4 for the base card, score it at 9.9cm either end, then cut in 1/2 at 10.5cm, fold so each piece is concertina'd into 1/3rd's then each folded piece needs a cut that goes 1/2 way up the card (in the...

Something Saturday - Hooray for Honeycomb Kit

Image
Hi there Creators, Today I thought we'd take a look at one of the new Kits that Stampin' Up! has brought out, it's really fun!, the name "honeycomb" kind of gives it away🤣 There are 9 cards to create, and it's a nice simple kit, would make an excellent gift for anyone who is thinking of starting off with card-making, there's no stamping involved - it's all "stick it together" and everything is included to do this.  At $32 it works out to $3.56 per card (which let's face it is pretty cheap for a card these days!) So here are the cards you can make (3 of each): Don't you just love the matching envelopes? The front of each card has clear embossed shiny bits on it (most obvious on the rainbow card at the top! with my photography) And there you have it, I haven't had the chance to play around and see what else I can create with this kit yet, so if you get it and do play around, let me know what you do! If you missed the video here it...

Something Saturday - Cascading Pleated Fold Card

Image
Hi There Creators, I promised when I was showing off my swap cards from OnStage that I'd work out how to create a couple of cards I received. So, here we go, I have discovered they're called Cascading Pleated Fold Cards! (good start) Here are my 2 cards I made using this technique, I figured I could have a go at both landscape and portrait cards. 😍 The first one is made using the absolutely gorgeous Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper . It took a bit of cutting to get it right as I wanted each scene in front to echo the scene behind, but I think I got it! Then the card I made up in the video ended up like this, I've used the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper (which is happily continuing onto the next catalogue!), and the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle (again continuing on)   Although Sam (Mr 13 year old) did ask what flavour ice-cream is that meant to be?  I said Chocolate & Boysenberry (Hummm, Ok Mum....) 🤣 Anyway on to the measurements.... I worked o...

Class cards for May

Image
Hi there Creators, I have worked out our class cards for May now woo hoo!   Class dates are:  Tuesday 7th at 1.30pm in Laanecoorie, Thursday 9th at 7pm in Laanecoorie, and Saturday 11th at 10.30am in Maryborough.  Class cost is $24 for 4 cards with envelopes.  It's important to book your place if you're coming to Laanecoorie as space is limited. Here are the cards we'll be creating: Using the beautiful Unbounded Love Bundle and Layers of Beauty (I've only used the stamp set here, but Oh My Goodness the bundle is so worth it!), also showcasing some of the new colours: Shy Shamrock and Peach Pie (guess which is which 🤣) Then back in time a little as this was in the mini catalogue (if you want it, buy it now before the end of the month while it's still a bundle price with 10% off it!)  Ice Cream Swirl Bundle (stamps & dies)  again showcasing one of the "new" colours, although Pretty in Pink is actually an old colour with a come-back! Moving onto t...

Something Saturday - Mini Catalogue what's retiring

Image
Hi there Creators, Today I thought I'd show you what's retiring from the Mini Catalogue (and what's being reduced, which isn't much!)  You'll find that lots of bundles are retiring but the products in them aren't, which means that if you want a 10% discount on them you need to buy them before they head into the new catalogue or online as individual items  (of course you could always join my team and get a 20% discount on all your goodies😉) At the end of the video I end up showing off the Forever Love Specialty Designer Series Paper , and something a bit different you can do with it, also the beautiful Gold Foiled Flowers Cards & Envelopes .  And here's what I ended up doing with them: I used some of my Stampin' Blend alcohol markers to colour them in (a little time consuming, but totally worth it!) I ended up deciding to colour in the vanilla background with the pool party markers too, I really like the way it turned out!  with this card I used b...

Something Saturday - Look what's retiring

Image
Hi There Creators Today we're taking a look at some of the goodies that will be retiring from the Annual Catalogue (specifically ones that I currently own!)  I go through them in the video and mention if they're being discounted on 9th April, but bear in mind if you specifically want something, sometimes it's best not to wait, as things can be sold out before you realise it!  Here is the retiring list for the Annual Catalogue: Last Chance Annual Catalogue List The Mini Catalogue is also retiring, but I haven't focused on that today, maybe I should next week, we'll see.....  anyway here is the retiring list for the Mini Catalogue:  Last Chance Mini Catalogue List (I'm really hoping those links work!)  there is a heap retiring and it's worth checking if it was bundled whether the bundle is still cheaper or if it's worth purchasing the individual items separately if they've both been reduced to less than the bundle price (if that makes sense?)  Anyway ...

Something Saturday - Show & Tell

Image
Hi There Creators, Today I was thinking that you might like to check out all the swaps I received at OnStage (the Stampin' Up! event held in Melbourne a couple of weekends ago.  The idea behind it, in case you've never heard of swaps before, is that I create a heap of the same card, and others do the same, then at the event we swap cards to end up with samples of all sorts of different stamp sets, card ideas etc, it's really fun, and I love the diversity of what I receive back! I show them all off in the video, but in case you wanted to check any out in particular, I've photographed them all in groups of approx 4 (thank goodness I didn't make up 100+ swaps🤣) but it's still a bit of a long post! (and here's the irony, I forgot to take a photo of mine🤣) So here we go, I'm not going to be giving credit to each individual that made them, but rest assured they are all Stampin' Up! demos😍 (some I don't know who made them, usually you'd put your...

Something Saturday - Blackout Embossing

Image
Hi there Creators Today I'm showing you a technique I learnt just recently - Janine Rawlins had put it up on her FB, and as soon as I saw it I had to go and have a go!  OH MY GOODNESS!! If you haven't come across it before and you have a plentiful supply of embossing folders, I suspect you will be like me too.🤣 So here are the creations I made then I'll give you a brief rundown on how to do it: (I may have got a little carried away......) First up: Fern 3D embossing folder and one of the embossing folders from Stripes & Splatters 3D embossing folders . Then the other embossing folder from Stripes & Splatters is the Pretty Peacock one, and the purple one is one of the Basics 3D embossing Folders Then lastly the 2 embossing folders from Fun Patterns embossing folders (these aren't 3D folders, but they still work 😍) Don't they look great? So, here is the way to do it.....  For these ones I started off with a piece of white cardstock, embossed it, then ...
