Stampin' Up! Hostess Special till 31st October

Hi Everyone,
Stampin' Up! have a special stamp set FREE for anyone who hosts a party/workshop and the total orders are $450+.  This can be either placing an order of $450 yourself, gathering a few orders from your friends, or asking me to do a party for you!  As I needed to order a new Bigshot, I made up the rest of the order, and claimed my free stamp set, thought I'd share with you some of the cards I've been creating with it.
First up here is the stamp set, it's called Merry Patterns, and you can't purchase it, you can only get it free through the $450 order as I explained above.
It's a 2 step stampin' set, the candles have the insert bits, to colour them in as well as the flames (oh it's soooooo cool - and somewhat disappointing that this set will only be available for 2 months!)

However.... here are the candles used in a card, they are so easy to use, oh and really love the little pine bough stamp!
Next up I tried out the "tis the Season" image, along with the deer, again so easy to line up! (the snowflakes are from another set - Tags and Trimmings.
Then I thought the deer needed a card for itself :)
How cute is he wearing his little woolly jumper? this card also uses the new Year of Cheer Washi Tape.
And one last card.....
Had this card "base" sitting around on my desk for a while, so decided that the words would fit nicely under the die cut - and they did, Yea!  the Die cut is from Swirly Snowflakes Thinlit dies.
And I've just got to share with you the little blue dots I've put in the middle of the snowflakes, they are the Glitter Enamel Dots, and they're just gorgeous I'm not sure if this photo really does them justice though! these blue ones almost have an opal look to them.
Well that's it from me for now, do let me know if you're keen to get that Hostess only stamp set, and we'll see whether we can work out a way for you to get it!
I hope this inspires you to create!
God Bless love

Just to prove that I do things other than cards!

Hi Everyone,
it's that Book week time of year again, the kids at Tarnagulla had their parade on Thursday (sadly I'm at work on Thursdays, but Tom went and took photos and I got in a few before I left for work)
So I spent the weekend making a Dinosaur tail.... got the old paper mache technique going (plain flour mixed with water and wiped onto strips of newspaper), swiped a paper from work that nobody wanted, made a form out of old cornflake boxes and voila:
LOL one Dinosaur tail!  I also bought a (cheap) bike helmet from KMart, and green and black spray paint and the helmet got the same Paper Mache treatment, one spiky helmet!
then Sam had to do a bit of work himself, on creating a mask (he coloured it in then took all the credit for making the entire outfit - LOL typical 6 year old)
He was so chuffed to be a dinosaur.
Next Up Josh's outfit, last year he wanted to be Mr Mosely the Dog (it's a book), and we'd made up the outfit, then he was sick and couldn't attend, so this year we bought out the costume, and added to it, obviously in tail mode, so guess what? we added a tail - lol
it was meant to kind of float behind his back (tied on with fishing line), which was fine with constant re-adjustment, otherwise it tended to go to one side, however moving on.......front view:
Mr Mosely in the book has a black wonky heart looking patch on his chest, and long floppy ears, I don't think we did a bad job :)
And here they are together waiting for the school bus:

Well that's it for now, inspiration in a different way today, but I hope it inspires you to create!

Interactive Cards - Camera Shutter

Hi Everyone,
In September's Interactive Card Class on Monday 18th, we will be making Camera Shutter Cards, I thought I'd show you them, and if you can't make it to the class I am happy to mail out the kits (see more info later) although I can't stamp for you, as per Stampin' Up! policy.
Here is card #1:
kind of needs 3 photos to display it properly! the first card uses the Bookcase Builder Stamp set and the Baby Bear stamp set for the words.  Then also the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper such gorgeous paper!
The second card is this one:
I love this one, you can choose your "critter" to go in the shutter window, it does involve a spot of fussy cutting, but so worth it! This one uses the Marquee Messages Stamp Set, and the cute Pick a Pattern designer Series Paper.

If you would like the kit and instructions mailed to you for $15, please use this (secure) link to pay for it: Kit and Instructions  Please order by 18th and I will endevour to have it in the mail to you by Wednesday 20th.

Cards for Regular Classes in September

Hi Everyone
Gee we're almost at the end of August already!  On 1st September the new Holiday catalogue is officially released (yay!)  If you are coming to one of my classes next month, I will have them ready for everyone to have one, if not and you'd like me to send you a catalogue - let me know!
Class dates are: Maryborough Sat 2nd 10am, Kangaroo Flat Wed 6th 10.30am, and Laanecoorie Wed 13th 7.30pm.

Ok, well, I may have delved into the new catalogue for a couple of our cards this month lol
first up, one of my new favourite stamps: Painted Harvest:
this is one of those 2 step stampin' sets where you stamp one image then the next one directly over top, for the flower and for the leaves (Oh it's so pretty!)  and, get this, there's a punch that goes with the leaves! (how exciting!!, it comes as a bundle too 😃)

Card #2 New stuff again *Hooray!!*
Thought we'd better have a Christmas card in the mix as it's leading up to Christmas (only 4 months!) this one uses the new SnowFlake Sentiments, beautiful set! (the dies that go with it are gorgeous too)  Also used Versmark resist technique on this one, with the glossy cardstock, and a touch of Silver Metallic edge ribbon

Card #3, I saw someone else had used the daisy punch to create a cute skirt for the dancing girl in "Beautiful You", and I just couldn't resist trying it myself, so here's my version
Isn't she gorgeous?, then I've used the Lovely Laurel Thinlits and the Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon.

Ok, last but not least, I dug out the Paisleys and Posies Stamp set, and my new Happy Birthday Die
this one has a bit of a fancy fold, and I love the effect of colouring in some of the inside of the stamps with the white. And the Happy Birthday really stands out fabulously (I think)

Which is your favourite?
I hope these cards inspire you to create in your space, and I'd love to see anyone who can make it to my classes - let me know if you need more details.

God Bless love

August's CreateAble Prize Draw

Hi Everyone, I sent out an email to encourage people to send me photos of their work using Stampin' Up! goodies, and offered a prize draw (some of the gorgeous Glitter Enamel Dots). the brief was to send me photos of anything you've created using Stampin' Up! goodies (and be happy for me to display them on my blog) by 20th August.
I had 2 people who entered, and I love what they created!
First up Sharon, was telling me how she's also a quilter, and uses her stamps in her quilting, she stamps them then sews over top of them, here is the example she sent me:
if you have perused the Hostess stamp sets you'll recognise the pretty flower that's bending over top of the 40!  it's from the Feathery Friends Stamp set, I love this idea of sewing over top of the stamped image!
Coral sent me 2 entries:

funny thing but these 2 also use a hostess set, although this one is retired now (but I still love it!)  She's also used the beautiful tree from Thoughts and Prayers Stamp set.  How cool are the frogs? looks like she's stamped them on a piece of Designer Series Paper then cut them out.

Great jobs to both of you ladies!   As this was a prize draw, I popped the 3 entries into a bowl, and out came Sharon's name!  So Sharon, Congratulations, you'll be receiving a pack of the Glitter enamel dots from me in the mail!

Do send me photos for September's Prize Draw, as I'll be doing it again, make sure those photos are with me by 20th September, and you could win a packet of the gorgeous Faceted Gems.

I hope these ladies works have inspired you to create too
God Bless love

Sneak Peek #2: Musical Season

Hi Everyone,
the new Holiday catalogue comes out on 1st September, and as a demonstrator I get to pre-order from it (yay!)  one of the sets that especially took my fancy was one called Musical Season bundled with the Musical Instruments framelit dies, mainly for the Treble Clef that is in the framelits, being a singer, musical stuff appeals to me (and I know a lot of other musical people too)
This first card uses the Sheet Music Background Stamp in Smoky Slate to begin with, initally I'd done the instruments in Night of Navy, but the card looked too bland, so I ended up making a bit more Christmassy with the Real Red and Old Olive colours, of course the Treble Clef!, it has little dots of silver glitter on the side pattern pieces, which you can just see.
The other card I was able to make today is this one:
how cool is the French Horn?, I like the sayings and the holly sprig is a lovely stamp too, only one other stamp in the set is a little drummer boy, which I didn't have the time to play with properly today.  What do you think? is it a set you could see yourself using?

I hope this inspires you to create!  and if you want me to mail you one of the new catalogues do let me know!

God Bless love
