Hi there Creators Today we're checking out one of the new kits, I have to say WOW!, maybe it's the holographic blingy bits (ooooo bling....🤣) if you're a regular reader of my blog or watch my YouTube or Facebook channels then you'll know I can't resist bling. Anyway check out the kit here: Brightest Birthday Kit And here are the cards it makes.... oh and their matching (also blingy) envelopes. Then you'll notice on the first card with the balloons it has a box that has the holographic outline, which is actually a sticker, so in the video I show you how to get the sticker off and onto a separate piece of card without having to pick it off and re-piece it yourself. And this is the card I made with it: I probably should have used the same Azure Afternoon colour, but I had this piece of Shy Shamrock hanging around my desk, so chose to use that instead, and seeing as the star stamp hadn't been used I figured I should put it into action. Its not a bad littl...
Something Saturday - 3D Star Cards

Hi there Creators
In class the other day Rose mentioned she'd seen this card on Facebook or Youtube from a lady called Dee Slater, and showed me a photo of it, and explained briefly how to make it, she then sent me through a few measurements (all inches) and if you know me, I'm an A4 metric girl, so conversion time.... (actually not very difficult this time)
And Voila.....
and of course the back view....So that is the card I made in the video using the Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper, I kind of like that I was able to keep the pattern going all the way round. Then I happened to have one of the Decorative Tree Dies cut out from the Festive Glimmer Paper (bonus, love it when things are just hanging around my craft desk and they come in handy!)
Then I kept the fun going, and decided to make an 8 pointed star card.... (this one is the shorter size) This time I used the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper.
The mechanism part for attaching the front & back pieces:
Right, so, measurements as promised
If you are making the 6 pointed larger card that ends up A6 sized and fits nicely into a C6 envelope:
- 6 pieces of A6 cardstock (ie 10.5cm x 14.8cm) each one scored at: 2.5cm, 5cm, 7.5cm and 10cm
- 12 pieces of a plain colour card 2cm x 14.5cm
- 12 pieces of Designer Paper 1.5cm x 14cm
- 2 mechanism pieces 6cm x 1cm, scored at cm, 2cm, 4cm and 5cm
- a decorative piece for the front
- a piece for the back to write on I used a plain colour 10.5cm x 7.4cm, then white piece 9.9cm x 7cm (both cut exactly from a piece of A4)
If you're making the 8 point smaller card you'll need:
- 8 pieces of 10.5cm x 9.9cm, scored at 2.3cm, 4.6cm, 6.9cm and 9.2cm
- 16 pieces of plain colour card: 10cm x 3/4" (yes I know breaking the metric rule! 🤣)
- 16 pieces of Designer Paper 4" x 1/2"
- 2 mechanism pieces as above
- decorative piece for the front
- smaller pieces for the back I used: 8cm x 5.7cm, and white 7.5cm x 5.2cm (although I think that's because I happened to find both those sizes precut!)
And that's it! If you missed the video here it is:
I hope this inspires you to have a go too!
God Bless love

Crafty Collaborations Sale-a-bration Blog Hop
Hi there Creators, thought I'd join in this Sale-a-Bration Blog hop today, and I'm excited to see what others have created using the upcoming Sale-a-bration SAB products. For those un-initiated SAB is a special time of year where we have 2 months of FREE Products *YAY*: When you purchase $90 of products you get to pick a free product from the SAB offering, this year is the first year we're going to have 2 SAB's in a year there's another one coming in July too (it'll be different products) *DOUBLE YAY* lol Anyway there were a couple of products that I have to admit I wasn't so keen on, but at the time I was ordering it was a case of pick the stamp set I didn't have as others weren't available, then lots of people seemed to be raving about the Designer Series Paper that I ended up using (again I wasn't so keen on it) However I have a thing about not being beaten by a stamp set, so I was determined to make something of it (especially as I can...
Class cards for May
Hi there Creators, I have worked out our class cards for May now woo hoo! Class dates are: Tuesday 7th at 1.30pm in Laanecoorie, Thursday 9th at 7pm in Laanecoorie, and Saturday 11th at 10.30am in Maryborough. Class cost is $24 for 4 cards with envelopes. It's important to book your place if you're coming to Laanecoorie as space is limited. Here are the cards we'll be creating: Using the beautiful Unbounded Love Bundle and Layers of Beauty (I've only used the stamp set here, but Oh My Goodness the bundle is so worth it!), also showcasing some of the new colours: Shy Shamrock and Peach Pie (guess which is which 🤣) Then back in time a little as this was in the mini catalogue (if you want it, buy it now before the end of the month while it's still a bundle price with 10% off it!) Ice Cream Swirl Bundle (stamps & dies) again showcasing one of the "new" colours, although Pretty in Pink is actually an old colour with a come-back! Moving onto t...
Something Saturday - Twisted Star Ornament
Hi there Creators I saw this cool star ornament in another video, and had a bit of a play around with it, ending up with this.... (with a retired Designer Series Paper) Then I ended up making this one (somewhat puffier 🤣) in the video with the current Natures Sweetness Specialty Designer Series Paper Ok, to make this you'll need 16 strips of 15cm x 1cm Designer Paper & glue (I used tombow) Use 8 of the pieces for each side of the star, you twist them like a Breast Cancer ribbon, but with a small "head section" and have a gap of around 4cm at the free end, and around 4cm of the 2 free arms (if that makes sense, it should if you've seen the video!) you then glue 8 of the "heads" together to make the middle of the star then the tails glue together to form the points. once you've made up 2 of these, you then glue them back to back, adding a piece of twine into the last point If you missed the video here it is: I hope this inspires you to create one t...
