Something Saturday - Easy One Layer Card

 Hi there Creators,

Today I'm showing you a deceptively simple and a bit of an optical illusion sort of card. Potentially I should have called it a "no layer" card.

Ben (oldest son) saw them and was impressed with the fact these cards are only the base card, here they are:

One layer card, Stampin' Up!
This first set is continuing into the new catalogue Natures Prints Stamp set  I've teamed it up with the returning colour Pretty Peacock and the Online exclusive Loose Frosted Dots. (not adhesive backed but easy enough to add with a dot of glue!)
One layer card, Stampin' Up!

This second card uses a retiring stamp set Dragonfly Garden (and yay reduced from $41 to $16.40! - although if it's still available and you want it you only have until 1st May!) so click the link and order it now! I've teamed it up with Orchid Oasis ink pad and Iridescent Rhinestones (so pretty)

The card below uses the cute Party Puffins stamp set, again a retiring set (and reduced from $35 to $21, bargain!)  and a spot of retiring bling too!  Adhesive Backed Studs (also reduced and retiring) I wanted a fun set to go with these words from Something Fancy Stamp set.

One layer card, Stampin' Up!

The great thing with these cards is you don't have to work out exactly how to hide the images under the saying, so they're in the right spot - like the top one, sometimes it's hard to make sure the flowers/ leaves are poking out the right amount under the saying.

So how to create these?  easy peasy!  You'll need: your stamp set/s and one ink pad, a blending brush, and a post it note.

  • Stamp your saying
  • cut a post it note down to cover the saying, and add it over the saying
  • Stamp your images around your card (making sure they overlap onto the post it note)
  • using your blending brush, blend colour round the edge of the post it note and round the edge of the card
  • remove the post- it note
  • Add Bling!
  • Voila one easy peasy card created 😁

If you missed the video  here it it:

I hope this inspires you to have a go at this too, don't forget to share with me if you have a go!

Cards for May classes

 Hi there Creators

It's that time again, where I show off next months class cards.  The class dates are Wednesday 3rd May 10.30am in Laanecoorie, Thursday 4th at 7pm in Laanecoorie, then Saturday 6th at 10.30am in Maryborough.  New Catalogues should be with everyone by now, if you don't have one and want one, get in touch! Just a heads up that this month will still be $20 for the 4 cards, however due to rising costs I do need to increase my prices, and I'll be increasing by $1 per card - so $24 for the 4 cards.

 Here goes.....

First up I've used the new Zoo Crew (that will be available from 2nd May) to create this cute card

Stampin' Up! Zoo Crew
Then after showing a friend how to use these Give it a Whirl Dies the other day I figured we should do this in class too (they're so much fun!)  I've teamed it up with Alphabest and Waves of Inspiration so the wheel says U R Totally Awesome, as it goes round
Stampin' Up!, Give it a Whirl, Waves of Inspiration

Back to new stuff again, and this time the gorgeous Cheerful Daisies Stamp set (it also comes bundled with dies at a 10% off total) - definitely worth it! and again not available till 2nd May (not long now) - are you noticing any new colours in these cards?

Stampin' Up!, Cheerful Daisies
And the last card uses the lovely big wordings from Good Feelings stamps, and I've cut a mask using the Elegant Border Dies (again a new colour πŸ˜‰)

Which card is your favourite?  I hope you can join me for one of my fun classes, if not I hope these cards inspire you to create too.

Something Saturday - Bits & Pieces

 Hi there Creators

Today was definitely a bits & pieces day!  I had a bit of clean up of my crafting desk, and in the video I give a quick tour of my craft room (exceedingly messy, but hey that's the way I work!)  And let's face it we all like to gig at other peoples crafting space 🀣

Anyway I have this "little" (actually it kind of grows) area at the back of my desk that ends up with all those UFO's (unfinished objects).  Today I pulled them all forwards and that's what my video is primarily on, I've teamed up some of my UFO's with retiring bling  (gotta love Bling!) and used up a disappointingly small amount of it!   I think I need to have people over to use up my UFO's (and take them away with them!!)   Any volunteers?

Alright well, moving on to the actual cards I did make up..... (somewhat Christmassy theme going on here! Ah well never to early to make Christmas cards😁)  I do mention in the video that I'll give you links to the bling I used.  So, clockwise from the ornament card, I've used Opal Rounds (which sadly are sold out, however the In Colour Opal rounds are still there and reduced from $15 to $7.50, bargain!), then we've got the Gold Faceted sequins, reduced from $14 down to $8.40, I don't think I put any bling onto the bells card as the bells were quite blingy being the Brushed Metallic Cardstock (which conveniently enough is also reduced from $27 down to $10.80!) then the last card in this set I've used the Champagne rhinestones which are sadly gone 😞

Stampin' Up! random cards, Bits & Pieces

I've then used the same bling in the top 2 cards.  The cards underneath have the red rhinestones (on the ghosty trees) which surprisingly are still there (at time of typing) reduced from $12.25 to $8.57, and the long card uses the Rhinestone basic jewels $10.50, which I had thought were retiring, turns out I was wrong!  yay as I use them a lot! 😍

Then lastly I made up this card - the Cherry Cobbler base was already cut & scored and the flower was already stamped up, also the bits of designer paper were sitting in the stache, as was the round saying, this one was a special one for a friends birthday, so initially I took photos thinking I would only post them without the extra sayings, but changed my mind and the finished card is at the end.

To finish off the birthday card I added the sayings and also the Sprig Trinkets, reduced from $15.75 to $7.87, which to make them match the card, I coloured them with one of my yellow Stampin Blend pens (alcohol markers).

If you missed the video, here it is...

I hope this inspires you to dig out your UFO's and use up some!  or potentially come round here and use up some of mine 🀣  other peoples UFO's are usually way more interesting than your own!   In fact if you'd like some of mine, just ask and I'll send you an envelope full of them.

Till next Saturday, God Bless love

Something Saturday - Elegant Border Dies

 Hi There Creators,

Today we're checking out these absolutely gorgeous Elegant Border Dies, they are an "OnLine Exclusive" thing, so you can't find them in the catalogue, however there is hope!  check out this link:  Elegant Border Dies.  As soon as I saw them I knew they were keepers!  not in the least bit masculine 🀣

Anyway in the video I simply show them and cut them out, unless you stayed right till the end in which case you'll have seen the cards I'm showing off here:

Elegant Border Dies, Stampin' Up!
The blue card uses Starry Sky and Bermuda Bay inks rubbed onto the card using the blending brushes, and silver heat embossing for the saying.
Elegant Border Dies, Stampin' Up!
I wanted this card to Pop, so I chose the Parakeet Party as the base, and the Fine Shimmer Paper is just stunning for the butterflies.  I also mention in the video that I have mixed up gold & silver embossing powder to do the saying, as it kind of ends up a champagne sort of colour which went better than the gold or silver on their own would have done.
Elegant Border Dies, Stampin' Up!
In the black & White one above I've used more online exclusive products: Irresistible Blooms Bundle.
Elegant Border Dies, Stampin' Up!

And this Christmas card uses a carry over stamp set from the Christmas Catalogue: Brightest Glow Stamp set (it's a fabulous Christmas word'y set)

Then last but not least if you were here 2 weeks ago you'll know I was showing off Bendi cards, so here is my latest bendi card:  This one uses Awash in Beauty Designer Paper and as you can see I've managed to fit 3 out of the 4 dies onto my card (yay go me!)  just not enough "arms" for 4 🀣

Feel like this was a good day's work!  What do you think?

I hope this inspires you too

Something Saturday - Colourful Kaleidoscope

Hi There Creators

Oh my goodness you need to get this kit!!  I have just scratched the surface of some of the things to use it for (other than making the 9 cards it's meant to make lol)

Here is the link to check it out:  Colorful Kaleidoscope (yes colour is spelt wrong 🀣- it's an American thing)  Seriously amazing kit especially if you're prepared to add more cardstock, some extra ink colours and potentially sacrifice some of the intended cards.

Anyway here are the "official" cards you can make with the kit (it comes with 3 of each)  Won't you just check out those envelopes!!  I reckon there's a card or two just by taking those apart 🀣

Colorful Kaleidoscope, Stampin' Up!

Colorful Kaleidoscope, Stampin' Up!

However when you are prepared to sacrifice a bit....... (admittedly they're not quite finished yet, still require sayings but you get the drift!)

Colorful Kaleidoscope, Stampin' Up!

Colorful Kaleidoscope, Stampin' Up!

I used the reverse sides of the overlays as a mask, and they do turn out kind of pretty themselves! got to add bling!   If you're careful with them you can turn them back over and use them as intended too

If you'd like to check out the video, here it is!

I hope this inspires you that you can do more with a kit than it's meant forπŸ˜‰

Something Saturday - Bendi Cards

 Hi there Creators,

I was deciding what to make for my Tutorial card (I'm part of a global monthly tutorial group called Crafty Collaborations, when you purchase $75+ of goodies from me, I send the whole tutorial of around 35+ projects out as a thank you).  Anyway, I was at the Picture to Page Show and the only stamp set I had with me was the Legendary Ride (motorbikes) with Ready to Ride matching designer papers, so guess what I used 🀣  and here is the card I created.....

Ready to Ride, Stampin' Up!

Anyway I was thinking it would be fun to make another similar card, and that I should do a video on it, so...... here is the card I made for the video

I've used the True Beauty Bundle to create it, along with the Abigail Rose Designer Paper, Oh and not forgetting the Delicate Edges Dies!

True Beauty Dies, Delicate Edges Dies, Stampin' Up!

As promised the measurements for the Bendi cards:

Take your A4 piece of card, cut it in  1/2 lengthways, then score it in 1/2 at 14.8cm

With the front of the card you'll now cut it so you just have a section 5 cm high, and take off the top section (so it looks a bit like an arm) you need to score a 1/2cm piece in at the end of the "arm"

Take the piece that you cut off and cut it down to 2.5cm (actually I think I used the 3cm piece for this card, due to the die cut), anyway you'll need to score whichever piece you use at 1cm in one side and 1/2 cm in the other side

Attach the 1cm scored piece to opposite side of your card (so you now have 2 arms)

Now decorate your card up

You'll also need to create 2 "button" type bits that will attach up on dimensionals for your 1/2cm scored bits at then end of the "arms" to hook under, and create the bends.

As I was using the rather lovely trellis die from Organic Beauty Dies, I figured I shouldn't waste the little diamondy bits, so made this bonus card up by slotting in the cut outs back in, and attaching them to the card, then removing the trellis.  Paired up with the matching True Beauty Stamps (so pretty!)

True Beauty Dies, Stampin' Up!

Here's the video in case you missed it:

I hope this inspires you to have a go at Bendi Cards too, and don't forget if you place a $75+ order with me, you'll get an email with written instructions to the first card shown here plus a heap more projects.

God Bless love

Something Saturday - Shepherds Care meets Snowy Delights Masks

Hi there Creators,  Today I thought I'd play around with a couple of my latest goodies, Shepherds Care Stamp set and Snowy Delights Mas...
