Thankyou for joining me today, I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, since 2008. My blog will show you how to make cards and projects using Stampin' Up!'s fabulous products. And occasionally random extra stuff (that's the way I roll ๐คฃ) Please do sign up to receive my emails, so you get my latest info.
Today I have a new parcel of goodies to share with you, these products are now available online, I've added the links to each so you can check them out.
First up I showed the stunning Sunflower 3D Embossing folder (it's a large one being A5 sized)
I think I'll be showing off a couple of ways to use it next week (stay tuned!)
Then I moved onto the "Not 29 anymore" stamp set, which I absolutely love, it's definitely a keeper well after it retires!
Next up is Label Me Grateful Bundle (Stamps & Dies) I do like that the dies can be used on their own if you're not keen on the stamp set (personally I liked both)
Next up is a Suite, the Floral Charm Suite Collection Oh so pretty! I've given you the link to the whole collection but when you check it out, there is a drop down box to pick out individual items if you don't want the whole kit & caboodle!
And last but not least although it's not totally new, it is to me๐
I talked about doing something with the Sunflower 3D embossing folder, but in the end I couldn't resist using the floral Charm Suite to create these 2 cards:
After I'd coloured this first flower up, it reminded me of the rose from Beauty & the Beast, so as I didn't have a specific dome shape to fit it into I went with the die from the Label Me Grateful Bundle, and created the pedestal using the Labelled with Love Punch, and I figured the saying "so grateful for that heart of yours" went well with it
Then this one used the outside of the cut out from the above "dome" I actually cut off the leaves to colour them up then fitted them back on once I'd stuck the flowers down.
Ok, well that's it, if you missed the video here it is:
I hope this inspires you to have a go too (and possibly purchase some goodies?๐)
I saw a quick link thingo of a card on Facebook, and sort of noted what she did - which was really cool, so set about having a go and I have no idea if it's the same as I can't remember what it was called or who had done it, but it worked out well anyway, and now I get to share it with you๐คฃ
So here we are......
You might recognise this one as it's one in my "card conglomerate" of Mega Class cards for 19th July (if you're keen to come to the Mega class or get it as a mail order class, you've got till 2nd July to book your spot) check out the blog post on the class here: July Mega Class
Then in the video I made up the "bones" of this card, which I've then stamped up using the Inspiring Imperfections bundle (great stamp set & dies)
For the base I've used the Misty Moonlight two-tone cardstock, it's kind of cool as it has the same colour on both sides, just one light and one darker. I've cut this to 9" x 4" and scored at 6"
Today I thought I'd show off how to create one of the sets of cards I taught at Craft Alive.
If you would like a kit, I do have a few spare left over, so please ask me, I've reduced them down to $20 per kit and you do get full instructions for 4 cards, plus all the "ingredients" to create them and extra cardstock ๐
The Turtles Kit is this one (this is made in the same way as the Fancy Fold Wings Card that you can find the video to here: https://youtu.be/UdOBtXuOHno
Then the Triangle cards that we're concentrating on today.....
I promised in my video to share the measurements with you for these 2 cards, so here goes.......
Supplies & links see below
Measurements:
Card 1: (Long orange card)
White Card base 9.9cm x
29.7cm, scored at 9.9cm increments then diagonally as shown
Lemon Lime Twist 9cm x 9cm
(need 3 of these) cut diagonally
Designer Paper 3” x 3”
(need 3 of these) cut diagonally
Designer paper strips 4” x
½” (need 2 of these) folded as shown
Card 2: (Red & Green card on right)
White Card Base 10.5cm x
21cm scored in 1/2 then as shown
Cherry Cobbler 3 ¾” x 3 ¾”
(need 2 of these) cut diagonally
Designer paper 3 ¼” x 3 ¼”
(need 2 of these in different patterns) cut diagonally
Cherry Cobbler Strip 12cm
x 1cm, scored at 3.5cm and 4.2cm in each side as shown
I saw a version of this card online pretty sure it was Lisa Curcio over in the States, I have simplified it right down (my husband says conserving cardstock and being economical) ๐คฃ
She had used 4 pieces of A6 Cardstock to create hers, mine only uses one, plus the designer paper, embellishments and a couple of white strips for the back to write on.
Ok, so to make this card take a piece of A6 cardstock (10.5cm x 14.8cm), fold in 1/2 lengthways (at 5.25cm)
Then take a piece of Designer paper, and cut a hole in the middle of it with a die that will allow the element you put into the middle of it to fit well, score a small margin at each side, (and if the card is quite stiff you'll need to use your bone scorer to break the fibers down a bit so it will bend easily)
Attach this down to your A6 card (only attaching the 2 margins)
you'll then need a piece to hold your element as it will need to hide behind your element you'll need to determine the size, but you need to mark the middle of it and fold the 2 ends over a little bit (1/2 cm or 1/4 " will do, attach it down using the folds , and ensuring the middle matches up with the middle of your card
As you fold your card both the designer paper and the piece to hold your mechanism will puff out, lastly add a small line of glue (or use glue dots down the centre of the mechanism piece) and add the element in place
Voila all done ๐
If that was as clear as mud, check out the video here;
Today I thought I'd show you how to create this Louvre Windows card (little bit of trivia, did you know Louvres were invented back in the middle ages around 1500 years ago?, they were made of wood and put on pitched roofs to let out smoke, and increase circulation)๐
Anyway moving on.... I saw these kind of cards at the Picture to Page show, and of course the company selling them had dies to cut out all the components, but I figured I could make it work my own way.
And so Voila: I made this card up before the video using the Celebratory Sips Designer paper (see all the links below)
and here it is opened up (little difficult to photograph!)
So this is the bit that's obscured above!
Then in the video this is the card I made up, this time using the Beautiful Gallery Designer Paper (again links below)
and the middle..... as you can see I used a bit more of the designer paper to cut out and add to the middle sections
cut one in 1/2 so you have 2 pieces of 10.5x 7.4cm and score 1 end of each 1cm in (see my mud map workings then if all is as clear as mud, feel free to watch the video ๐คฃ
You'll also need 2 pieces to pop inside the windows I made these 10.2cm x 6cm and 10.2cm x 6.5cm
Can't believe we're 1/2 way through the year! June cards seem to focus on Designer Papers (it just happened that way ๐คฃ) however as I've been working out ways to show them off to their potential there are a couple of interesting folds we'll be doing, Dates are Friday 6th June and Saturday 7th June. Here goes.......
Last but not least we have the Poppin' By Bundle used to create this cute card, also used the Textured Note Dies to create templates for masking the background.
And that's it! I hope you can join us, let me know if you plan to, if not I hope these give you inspiration to keep creating! ๐
