Something Saturday - Show & Tell

 Hi There Creators,

Today I was thinking that you might like to check out all the swaps I received at OnStage (the Stampin' Up! event held in Melbourne a couple of weekends ago.  The idea behind it, in case you've never heard of swaps before, is that I create a heap of the same card, and others do the same, then at the event we swap cards to end up with samples of all sorts of different stamp sets, card ideas etc, it's really fun, and I love the diversity of what I receive back!

I show them all off in the video, but in case you wanted to check any out in particular, I've photographed them all in groups of approx 4 (thank goodness I didn't make up 100+ swaps🤣) but it's still a bit of a long post! (and here's the irony, I forgot to take a photo of mine🤣)

So here we go, I'm not going to be giving credit to each individual that made them, but rest assured they are all Stampin' Up! demos😍 (some I don't know who made them, usually you'd put your name on them, but not all of them had that) If you do want to know - just ask me!

And Hey if you want to come to a Stampin' Up! event so you can join in too, why not consider joining my team?  The next exciting in person event is in Brisbane March '25 (I can't wait!)

And then I completely forgot about this one in my video, so it gets a special mention!  A couple of my team members had made up this for me, using one of the Pillow Boxes from the mini Catalogue, (which are retiring soon - just a heads up!)  and the pretty Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper (also retiring soon)  If you're on my mailing list you will have received a copy of the retiring list by now, the official discounts will start on 9th April, but if you don't have the list let me know!

And then at the event we had the opportunity to have purchased a stamp & die set (I chose Citrus Blooms) to use at the Thursday evening event, I ended up swapping the stamp set over with the lady next to me (who had Spotlight on Nature) so we could make up samples with "not our set" if that makes sense? (as potentially we could create the same samples once we got home with our goodies!)  So here are my samples with her set, and the gray card is one I made up the following day with some other new goodies 😍

Something Saturday - Blackout Embossing

 Hi there Creators

Today I'm showing you a technique I learnt just recently - Janine Rawlins had put it up on her FB, and as soon as I saw it I had to go and have a go!  OH MY GOODNESS!! If you haven't come across it before and you have a plentiful supply of embossing folders, I suspect you will be like me too.🤣

So here are the creations I made then I'll give you a brief rundown on how to do it: (I may have got a little carried away......)

First up: Fern 3D embossing folder and one of the embossing folders from Stripes & Splatters 3D embossing folders.

Stampin' Up!, Cardmaking Technique, Blackout Embossing
Then the other embossing folder from Stripes & Splatters is the Pretty Peacock one, and the purple one is one of the Basics 3D embossing Folders
Stampin' Up!, Cardmaking Technique, Blackout Embossing
Then lastly the 2 embossing folders from Fun Patterns embossing folders (these aren't 3D folders, but they still work 😍)
Stampin' Up!, Cardmaking Technique, Blackout Embossing

Don't they look great?

So, here is the way to do it.....  For these ones I started off with a piece of white cardstock, embossed it, then using brushes, brushed random colours (light & bright) all over the DEBOSSED side, lastly swipe over the whole thing with a darker colour, and the debossed bits should remain the light bright colours, with the flat raised sections in the dark colour.

If you missed the video here it is:

I hope this excites you as much as it did me, and you are inspired to create

God Bless,

Something Saturday - A Little Latte

 Hi there Creators,

Well today I thought I'd play with one of my lastest goodies, A Little Latte Designer Series Paper, although I'm starting to think that maybe I should have ordered the Stamp set & Dies too: Latte Love Bundle.  They are all "Online Exclusive goodies", which really only means they're not in a catalogue - but you can see them online (and you can click the links above to view them)

Anyway here is the card I made up in the video:

Stampin' Up! A Little Latte, Trucking Along

I borrowed the saying from Trucking Along (which is another one of the Online Exclusives goodies), and felt a need to add some bling, (another online exclusive)  Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins - oh these are really nice!  I do love a good sequin without a hole in the middle🤣

Then I made up this card below too the backing papers are just gorgeous!, saying is also from the Trucking Along stamp set, the green piece running through the middle is actually the reverse side of the coffee splatter top piece.😊

I hope this inspires you to play with your designer Papers too

Class Cards for April

 Hi There Creators,

I'm getting organised with my class cards for April, as my calendar is looking pretty chock-a-block for the rest of the month!

As the new catalogue comes out in May, this could be the last time we play with some of these (excitingly I'm off to Melbourne on Thursday for the weekend for the Stampin' Up! OnStage event, where we're hoping to get the new catalogue to peruse)

Anyway to the cards, this first one is fun with swiveling circles, I do love the Hey Chuck stamp set, always makes me smile!

Stampin' Up! Hey Chuck
Next up is a Men's card using the Trusty Tools Bundle and the Metal Plate 3D embossing folder

Some of the new goodies.... A little Latte Designer Series Papers paired up with the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch and the new Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins. Oh and the saying is from Trucking Along Stamp set

And lastly this technique I learnt the other day, and honestly thought I'd uploaded the video for a something Saturday - oopsie, just discovered I didn't upload it, well there you go, it's an upcoming video - bonus!!🤣 Anyway this card uses the gorgeous Layered Florals 3D embossing folder and the equally gorgeous Forever Love Designer Series paper, Oh and the Charming Silhouettes Stamp set with matching Sentiment Silhouettes dies (which I usually forget to use!)

So there you have it the cards for April Classes, which incidentally are on Tuesday 2nd at 1.30pm, and Thursday 4th at 7pm in Laanecoorie.  You must book for these classes as there is limited seats.  Then Saturday 6th at 10.30am in Maryborough (heaps more space here!)

Hope to see you at a class, but if not I hope these inspire you to create

Something Saturday - Stampin' Block Watercolouring

 Hi there Creators

Today I thought after last week (and the promise in my blog I'd show you how to create the background to the card) that I'd better show you how I created the background to the butterfly card with the bluey/green background.

So here goes.... this is the card all finished that I started in the video, figured as I'm on a roll with baby cards for church I'd go for another one 🤣  I've used the Cheerful Daisies Stamp set for the background of the base card and the 3 little flowers in the corner, The colours I used for the watercolouring are Melon Mambo and Gorgeous Grape, Oh and Charming Sentiments Stamp set for the sayings

Stampin' Block watercolouring, Stampin' Up!
Then I also went on to make this card, which uses Azure Afternoon and Sweet Sorbet for the watercolouring bit, then words from Filled with Happiness stamp set, Trucking Along Stamp set and Circle sayings stamps for the flowers.
Stampin' Block watercolouring, Stampin' Up!
So to create this effect all you do is take an E Block, then ink up 1/2 with one colour, the other 1/2 with a different colour, then spritz it with water till the colours run in together.  Then press your cardstock onto it, and allow to soak for a few seconds, lift off carefully and either allow it to dry naturally or force the issue with a heat tool😁

If you missed the video, here it is......

I hope this inspires you to have a go too.

Come and join me again next Saturday. God Bless love

Something Saturday - Paper Butterfly Accents

 Hi there Creators

Today we're checking out the beautiful Paper Butterfly Accents, not an expensive item, but soooo pretty!

Have to admit that mine had done a runner, and I was left with the outside bit that you pop the butterflies out from, which was what I had planned to do something with, but nevertheless kind of irritating that I couldn't find the rest of the pack, which of course turned up after I'd done the video, so in fact I could use some of the butterflies in these cards.  So annoying when you search and search, then they turn up where you've already checked 1/2  a dozen times!

However I eventually decided I'd just do the video anyway, as they say in Happy Gilmore, "just play it as it lies"🤣

And here's the first card I created, this one uses the bit you'd usually throw away, as a mask, and I love how it turned out!  I've used daubers to add the colour, as I thought brushes might not work so well, I've also used the Filled with Happiness Stamp set (I did use this recently in one of my Something Saturdays)

Paper Butterfly accents, Stampin' Up!
Then I thought I should actually use some of the butterflies seeing as I found them🤣 This card I used this photopolymer stamp from Beach Day, and the great thing with long photopolymer stamps is that you can curve them onto the block 😍
beach day, paper butterfly accents, Stampin' Up!

And this is how it ended up, used some of the In colour pearls in the corners (initially I just did dots but decided these looked way better!)
beach day, paper butterfly accents, Stampin' Up!
then lastly I created this background (if you want to know how, watch next weeks video😉) I left the butterflies white and added a few more of those In colour pearls, and the saying from Heartfelt Hexagon.

If you missed the video here it is....

I hope this inspires you to create
