July Mega Class

 Hi there Creators,

I usually do a Mega Class in January and July (normally I try and do Christmas in July) however this year as the Annual Catalogue has only just come out we don't have much of a Christmas offering, so I'm going with Kids and Big Kids (let's face it we all need Big Kids cards! - especially if you have any guys in your life - husband/kids/nephews......)  I know my husband is just a big kid 🤣  Might have to try and do Christmas later after my trip to UK.

A sneak peek of the cards will be happening in my videos throughout June, however here is a conglomerate photo to whet your appetite:

This time rather than receiving a Stamp set I thought we go with something different but useful......Stampin' Write Markers, very handy as you can colour your stamps with these and stamp, or use them to colour in images (and in fact other things you can do with them eg create an interesting background by colouring on a clear block and stamping it)

You'll also receive a few other things including Designer Papers, Bling, obviously the kits for all 12 cards, a random door prize, plus lunch & snacks, and more.

 the Nitty Gritty......

Details

Saturday 15th July at Laanecoorie Hall
from 10.30am till 3.30pm
$125 for the day,
unless you're part of my team, in which case you'll need to purchase your own markers and the day will be $60

Everyone will need to bring (or arrange to share or let me know if you don't have it)
  • Stazon Black ink pad
  • Crafting tools (eg silicone craft mat, take your pick tool, tweezers, paper snips (scissors), bone scorer)
  • Glues (a "flat" glue such as tombow, and dimensionals)
Last time we had a group who brought their own things to do and enjoyed a crafting day out, if you'd like to do that, lunch and snacks provided and you'd still be in the prize draws.
$25 for the day

Last day to book your place 30th June, however NB if you book by 15th June I will have a special extra gift for you in your pack. 😉

I hope you can join us for the day, I'm looking forward to it 😁

God Bless love

Something Saturday - Stage Window Card

 Hi There Creators,

The Zoo Crew Suite, just lends itself so perfectly to a stage setting that I just had to create an easy window card to show you.

Here's the first one I made before the video:

Stampin' Up!, Zoo Crew Suite

these images have been cut out from the Designer Series Paper, some of the dies do match the images, but these ones are fussy cut.

then in the video I start on making this one, and this is how it turns out.  I was thinking it would make a great Christmas Card, if I can find a saying with words from a Christmas Carol for it.  I loved the idea of having double curtains, let's face it most stages have extra curtaining behind the main first curtain, if I made it again I realised that I should have positioned the 2nd curtains upstage a bit, so you see the bottom of them - ah well trial and error!

Stampin' Up!, Zoo Crew Suite
Lol in the video I wonder what the sausage looking pieces are for, and then on reviewing the video I realised they could be tree decorations, I've just had another epiphany - curtain tie backs!!  Woo hoo 4 potential uses now: sausages, eyebrows, tree decorations and curtain tie backs 🤣  Now I'm feeling a bit stupid, I could see the deer feeding the hippo a sausage in the first card 🤣

I hope this inspires you to create, if you have a go I'd love to see it.

Something Saturday - 3 Uses for the Beautiful Balloons Striped Die

 Hi there Creators,

Oooo multiple uses for one die, excellent!  I'm wondering if some other clever people out there have thought of more uses for this die🤣

Here is the die..... Check out the whole bundle here: Beautiful Balloons Bundle there actually is an entire suite (which I wish I'd bought now!!) Beautiful Balloons Suite

Anyway my 3 ways are using the die as fringing, as in this card: kind of like one a flapper skirt, I've used the stunning Dry Brushed Metallic Paper to create this one, OH WOW it's blingy!😍  Have to admit once I'd made it I really didn't know how to add the saying, ended up choosing to heat emboss black on vellum so you can see through it a little, and attached it with a couple of the brads.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Balloons Bundle

The other 2 ways are incorporated into the next card, the first being that you allow cardstock on both sides of the die, then thread ribbon in and out to create a dash effect (go the Morse code 🤣)  Then the other way is to cut the card in the same way as the first card, so it's open on one end, then roll it up and squish it down to create the flowers (the way you'd create quilled flowers)  Note a couple of new colours going on here... Copper Clay for the ribbon, and Wild Wheat for the leaves.

Ha just noticed my watermark is pretty close to Wild Wheat colour! 😁(not planned!)

I was also thinking that it would make a great comb on a Men's cards (or hairdressers card)

Anyway if you missed the video here it is:

I hope this inspires you to create.

Something Saturday - Faux Silk

 Hi there Creators

Today I thought we'd delve into Faux Silk using the tissue paper that has sat on my desk for quite some time now.  If you're a regular viewer/reader you might recall a few weeks ago my UFO video where I used up a (sadly smaller than I'd hoped) portion of my unfinished objects from my crafting desk, and amidst the scraps was a piece of tissue paper that came from a pack of window sheeting, which I mentioned at the time I'd kept for this very purpose, finally I have used it!

so.... here are the projects I made up with it: Here is the one I made up in the video, check out what I used in this card here: What Heather Used

Faux Silk, Stampin' Up! Artistically Inked
and this one I made up after, as a card to send off to my Mum  this one I've added some gilded leafing to and also a spot of heat embossing in gold around the label, check out what I used for this card here: What Heather Used, I have used the new Cheerful Daisies bundle  (such a great bundle)

thought I'd better show a close up too as I'm not sure how well you can see the silk effect!

Faux Silk, Stampin' Up! Cheerful Daisies

The actual technique is really quite simple:
  • stamp on the tissue paper, and allow to dry thoroughly
  • add glue all over the base card that goes underneath
  • scrunch up the tissue paper and smooth it out leaving a few wrinkles
  • Add the tissue paper to the gluey cardstock
  • trim off the edge
And that's it!

If you want to see me in action making it, check out my video here:

I hope this inspires you to have a go too.
Till next "Something Saturday"

Something Saturday - It's a Wrap Card

 Hi there Creators,

Today's video is about an "envelope fold card" but in typical Heather style I had to change it round 🤣

I really wanted to not have to cut/discard any of my 6x6" Designer Paper and to be able to just use it wrapped round the card, with minimal effort.  Admittedly there is a bit of lining up that is required, but generally it's quite simple, and I think the result is worth it, just a little bit different!😁

Anyway enough waffling, here is the card I made before the video:  I used a designer paper that's now retired but the dies are from All That Die set.

Stampin Up!, Being CreateAble with Heather, Wrap Card

As you can see the envelope type flap on the side tucks in under the raised saying

And the back gets decorated up at the same time 😊

Stampin Up!, Being CreateAble with Heather, Wrap Card

Then the card I made up in the video is this one:  I've used the new Bright & Beautiful Papers with matching Beautiful Balloons Bundle (stamps & dies)  I don't know what it is about this bundle/suite that appeals to me so much but I think it's great!

Stampin Up!, Being CreateAble with Heather, Wrap Card

Stampin Up!, Being CreateAble with Heather, Wrap Card

Stampin Up!, Being CreateAble with Heather, Wrap Card

I mention at the beginning you need to line it up, so here's the photo to show you the "lining it up" bit:

Stampin Up!, Being CreateAble with Heather, Wrap Card

If you line up the 6x6" designer paper so the diagonal is level crossways, then lay your card out so the open end 2 corners sit just onto the edge of the designer paper (as you can see in the photo) then you fold over the large flap, and the opposite small flap, so it wraps round your card.  the top and bottom triangles you pencil the line in and chop off the 2 triangles, which then get used on the back of your card.

Then you just need something to tuck the flap under (make sure you put it up on dimensionals)

If you missed the video, here it is....

I hope this inspires you to create 😊
