Something Saturday - Click Clack Concertina Card

Image
Hi there Creators Well I was sitting last night wondering what to do for my Something Saturday, and playing around with a bit of paper, ended up designing this card, I've made similar cards before like the cascade cards, this is probably a bit more basic, but I'm happy with it and it's way simpler to create, but still packs a cool Woah factor🤣  I've used Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper which is on the last chance list. I decided it needed a sentiment so picked out this one from Sweetest Star Stamp set (last chance list again), because it has 6 words (1 for each panel!😃) and these Adhesive backed Snowflake Assortment are also on the last chance list and happen to be reduced to 1/2 price (woo hoo!) Ok, onto measurements.... You'll need a sheet of A4 for the base card, score it at 9.9cm either end, then cut in 1/2 at 10.5cm, fold so each piece is concertina'd into 1/3rd's then each folded piece needs a cut that goes 1/2 way up the card (in the...

Cards for class in October

Image
Hi Everyone, As next month is not far off, thought I'd share with you the cards for these 3 classes - Sat 7th 10am in Maryborough:  Wednesday 11th - 10am Kangaroo Flat and 7.30pm Laanecoorie. As Christmas is not far away (gulp!) We have 2 Christmas projects. I'm starting with my favourite card for October!  This uses the gorgeous "Painted Harvest" flower as a wreath, and I just love it!  also uses the Hardwood Stamp in the background, and one of the sayings from Snowflake Sentiments . The other Christmas "project" as oppose to a card is this: I thought it would be a nice change to make up a little gift box, this stocking is a little pillow box, I have used the matching stamp set that comes in a bundle with the dies, called: Tags & Trimmings Bundle .  Card #3 been meaning to use this stamp set Floral Phrases again for a while now, and with the Designer Series Paper that looks so similar, I thought why not make my own Designer Series Paper with...

Trim Your Stocking (PillowBox)

Image
Hi Everyone, thought I'd show you these fabulous dies today! they are called Tags & Trimmings , and come as a bundle with the stamp set, or you can purchase the dies on their own Trim your Stocking Thinlit dies , or even just the stamp set on it's own: Tags and Trimmings Stamp set . Aren't they cool?  they make up a pillow box with a difference!  I've gone with 2 colours, Old Olive and Real Red for mine with a bit of Silver Glimmer for the Snowflake: They are really very simple to put together, when you run the dies through the bigshot, it cuts and scores the pieces in the right places, so all you do is fold, and glue the edges together, and you have this really cute little pillow box, I think it would make an amazing advent calendar too with them all hanging in a line, and the numbers put on the front of them! This is what the back looks like (because I'd want to know what it looks like lol!): When you make them up you tuck the long flap for the ba...

Global Design Project 103 (GDP103)

Image
Hi Everyone, I've been meaning to join in with the Global Design Project for ages!  So this time I've finally made a card appropriate for it!  The brief this time is a Theme Challenge "It's all about him".  Create something for a male!   With Father's day just having passed, and I forgot to send a card to my Step Dad in England (I did manage to send him a gift voucher, so not completely forgotten!)  I thought this would be ideal to spur me into a card for him! (fairly sure that I'm safe posting it on here, as he doesn't get online - lol) I've seen a lot of cards that have been using Eclipse Technique, so thought I'd give it a little go (admittedly I don't have the current letter dies, but I do have some that retired a while ago.) So here it is: I'm not sure that I've cracked the technique, and to be honest I couldn't see the letters initially, hence they ended up being coloured in!  I've used the "Gu...

Stampin' Up! Hostess Special till 31st October

Image
Hi Everyone, Stampin' Up! have a special stamp set FREE for anyone who hosts a party/workshop and the total orders are $450+.  This can be either placing an order of $450 yourself, gathering a few orders from your friends, or asking me to do a party for you!  As I needed to order a new Bigshot, I made up the rest of the order, and claimed my free stamp set, thought I'd share with you some of the cards I've been creating with it. First up here is the stamp set, it's called Merry Patterns, and you can't purchase it, you can only get it free through the $450 order as I explained above. It's a 2 step stampin' set, the candles have the insert bits, to colour them in as well as the flames (oh it's soooooo cool - and somewhat disappointing that this set will only be available for 2 months!) However.... here are the candles used in a card, they are so easy to use, oh and really love the little pine bough stamp! Next up I tried out the "tis the Sea...

Just to prove that I do things other than cards!

Hi Everyone, it's that Book week time of year again, the kids at Tarnagulla had their parade on Thursday (sadly I'm at work on Thursdays, but Tom went and took photos and I got in a few before I left for work) So I spent the weekend making a Dinosaur tail.... got the old paper mache technique going (plain flour mixed with water and wiped onto strips of newspaper), swiped a paper from work that nobody wanted, made a form out of old cornflake boxes and voila: LOL one Dinosaur tail!  I also bought a (cheap) bike helmet from KMart, and green and black spray paint and the helmet got the same Paper Mache treatment, one spiky helmet! then Sam had to do a bit of work himself, on creating a mask (he coloured it in then took all the credit for making the entire outfit - LOL typical 6 year old) He was so chuffed to be a dinosaur. Next Up Josh's outfit, last year he wanted to be Mr Mosely the Dog (it's a book), and we'd made up the outfit, then he was sick and could...
