Thankyou for joining me today, I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, since 2008. My blog will show you how to make cards and projects using Stampin' Up!'s fabulous products. And occasionally random extra stuff (that's the way I roll 🤣) Please do sign up to receive my emails, so you get my latest info.
Today I thought we'd take a look at one of the new Kits that Stampin' Up! has brought out, it's really fun!, the name "honeycomb" kind of gives it away🤣
There are 9 cards to create, and it's a nice simple kit, would make an excellent gift for anyone who is thinking of starting off with card-making, there's no stamping involved - it's all "stick it together" and everything is included to do this. At $32 it works out to $3.56 per card (which let's face it is pretty cheap for a card these days!)
So here are the cards you can make (3 of each):
Don't you just love the matching envelopes?
The front of each card has clear embossed shiny bits on it (most obvious on the rainbow card at the top! with my photography)
And there you have it, I haven't had the chance to play around and see what else I can create with this kit yet, so if you get it and do play around, let me know what you do!
I promised when I was showing off my swap cards from OnStage that I'd work out how to create a couple of cards I received.
So, here we go, I have discovered they're called Cascading Pleated Fold Cards! (good start)
Here are my 2 cards I made using this technique, I figured I could have a go at both landscape and portrait cards. 😍
The first one is made using the absolutely gorgeous Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper. It took a bit of cutting to get it right as I wanted each scene in front to echo the scene behind, but I think I got it!
Then the card I made up in the video ended up like this, I've used the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper (which is happily continuing onto the next catalogue!), and the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle (again continuing on) Although Sam (Mr 13 year old) did ask what flavour ice-cream is that meant to be? I said Chocolate & Boysenberry (Hummm, Ok Mum....) 🤣
Anyway on to the measurements....
I worked out that you take your base card, and fold the front of it evenly into 4,
In the case of my ice cream card, we have an A5 sheet scored and folded at 2.6cm, 5.2cm, 7.8cm, 10.4cm, and concertina these.
Then measure down 2 equal measurements on the "front" of the card that you have concertina'd
I used 2.5cm and 5cm. then you cut the steps.
Then you'll need 2 "mats" for the front 2 step pieces I used 12.3cm x 8cm and 9.7cm x 5.5cm. Then you can add mats/DSP to the top of this I measured 7mm less for my next mats.
I have a kind of "mud map" of it (this is for the landscape version, but they should be the same concept.)
As you can see for my landscape version I've cut the A4 card in 1/2 length-ways then scored the front at 3.7cm, 7.4cm, 11.1cm and 14.8cm
Then my steps are at 7.4cm and 4.3cm (which should be exactly 3.1cm down and 6.2cm down) (in theory) you can get away with 4.5cm, as I've written down, but it's not exactly 2 equal measurements that way.
I then have mats for the front 2 step pieces as 7.4cm x 10.5cm and 4.3cm x 7cm, and again then add another mat to the top of these 7mm shorter.
If you missed the video, here it is:
I hope you have a go too, and this inspires you to create
I have worked out our class cards for May now woo hoo!
Class dates are: Tuesday 7th at 1.30pm in Laanecoorie, Thursday 9th at 7pm in Laanecoorie, and Saturday 11th at 10.30am in Maryborough. Class cost is $24 for 4 cards with envelopes. It's important to book your place if you're coming to Laanecoorie as space is limited.
Here are the cards we'll be creating:
Using the beautiful Unbounded Love Bundle and Layers of Beauty (I've only used the stamp set here, but Oh My Goodness the bundle is so worth it!), also showcasing some of the new colours: Shy Shamrock and Peach Pie (guess which is which 🤣)
Then back in time a little as this was in the mini catalogue (if you want it, buy it now before the end of the month while it's still a bundle price with 10% off it!) Ice Cream Swirl Bundle (stamps & dies) again showcasing one of the "new" colours, although Pretty in Pink is actually an old colour with a come-back!
and "that's it folks" as they say at the end of the Looney Tunes Cartoons. Hoping you can make it to one of my classes, if not I hope this inspires you to create in your own space 😊
Today I thought I'd show you what's retiring from the Mini Catalogue (and what's being reduced, which isn't much!) You'll find that lots of bundles are retiring but the products in them aren't, which means that if you want a 10% discount on them you need to buy them before they head into the new catalogue or online as individual items (of course you could always join my team and get a 20% discount on all your goodies😉)
I used some of my Stampin' Blend alcohol markers to colour them in (a little time consuming, but totally worth it!)
I ended up deciding to colour in the vanilla background
with the pool party markers too, I really like the way it turned out!
with this card I used both the light and dark colours of blends to
create the depth in the flowers and leaves. Then I finished it off with the Pool Party Grosgrain ribbon (makes such a nice bow this ribbon)
The pretty peacock Forever Love Specialty DSP only needed the darker colours of the markers to be used as the lighter ones didn't show a difference.
Then the finished card uses the Faux Gold Leather Trim to finish it off, I love this effect, and it pairs up SO well with this paper!
Don't forget to check out the "Last Chance List" and find yourself some bargains (or potentially grab a few things before they're gone!) If you're order is under $250 use this link to do your order and you'll go into the draw to "win" the host benefits: Order Under $250 If it's over $250 use this link Order Over $250 and you'll get your own rewards 😊
Today we're taking a look at some of the goodies that will be retiring from the Annual Catalogue (specifically ones that I currently own!) I go through them in the video and mention if they're being discounted on 9th April, but bear in mind if you specifically want something, sometimes it's best not to wait, as things can be sold out before you realise it! Here is the retiring list for the Annual Catalogue: Last Chance Annual Catalogue List
The Mini Catalogue is also retiring, but I haven't focused on that today, maybe I should next week, we'll see..... anyway here is the retiring list for the Mini Catalogue: Last Chance Mini Catalogue List
(I'm really hoping those links work!) there is a heap retiring and it's worth checking if it was bundled whether the bundle is still cheaper or if it's worth purchasing the individual items separately if they've both been reduced to less than the bundle price (if that makes sense?)
Anyway I'm not going to list them all now, I'll just show you what I created at the end of the video with the absolutely gorgeous Artisitically Inked Stamp set (being reduced from $42 to $29.40) , and although I didn't use them for these cards, the Artistic dies are being reduced from $61 to $30.50! (bargain!!)
I accidentally stamped the saying on a "wonk) so then had to stamp a whole heap more to make it look authentic 🤣 I mentioned in the video I felt it needed a bit of bling, so I've actually used some of the gorgeous Gilded Leafing, which is sadly also retiring (going from $15.75 to $7.87) recommend you watch a video on using this before you open the container! pretty sure this one here tells you about it:Artistically Inked with Gold Gilded Leafing
wasn't sure how well the gilded leaf would show up so I took a close up too 😁
Then after the video I thought I should probably use some of the retiring inks too.... so this one uses all the retiring In Colour Inks (and now I realise how much I actually like Orchid Oasis!) Anyway retiring In colours are: Sweet sorbet, Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis.
And again just in case it didn't show up well in the big photo the bling: 2022 - 2024 In Colour Pearls (which incidentally are going from $12.25 to $6.12) sooo pretty......
I hope you get the chance to check out the lists, and if you're not on my email list to receive these and other things, let me know!
