Something Saturday - Origami Envelopes

Image
Hi There Creators, Guess what? it's that time of the week again for Something Saturday!😃 This week I happened to be scrolling through Facebook and came across this origami envelope quick video, so I have deciphered the video (you know how they do it and it's so fast!) And I've worked out if you do it with 12x12" cardstock you get an envelope worthy of a card, and a 6x6" piece gives you a gift card sized envelope. Here they are: then I'll try and explain how to make them...... This first one is made using one of the 12x12" pieces of  Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper and this smaller one uses one of the 6x6" pieces of Full of Life Designer Series Paper Now, how to create these envelopes: take your square piece of designer cardstock, and fold in 1/2 diagonally Open it up and fold one side in to the middle: then fold as shown: open up the bottom flap and fold in the sides fold up the bottom tuck the point bit inside the envelope (you might want t...

Todays Fundraiser Event

Hi Everyone,
Well today was the day of the Crafting Fundraiser for the Loaves and Fishes.  We had 11 ladies there today, it was a really fabulous day!, I thought I'd show you all what we created, I had originally scheduled to create 4 projects, but turned out we had time for 5 😊
We started off the day with this notebook and pen set, We were using a gorgeous Stamp Set - Strength and Prayers, sadly retired and sold out :( and the beautiful "Falling in Love" Designer Series Paper, again retired and last I checked it was on the low inventory list :(

and the back of the notebook........
Then moved on to this card:

As we still had 1/2 hour before lunch, I'd whipped up this extra card, first thing in the morning with a sneaky suspicion that I might need to fill in a bit more time (just as well I did!)
this is such a fun card to make, I figured a group of ladies together, and we needed Handbags - lol the handbags themselves are made using the Best Badge Punch, I think they make cute little handbags, and the ladies loved having an extra card to make. I also think the rings in the background look like coffee stains on a table, handbags and coffee, umm all we need is chocolate......  which conveniently enough I'd put chocolates into the little bags I made up for the ladies!

After lunch, Denise then treated us to a slide show explaining how and why the Loaves and Fishes community meals programe got started/up and running, which was really interesting (even though I was part of it, it was amazing to see the photos and the transformation that the church kitchen had)
I then taught the ladies how to create these next 2 projects
this card........
and this framed piece........
Everyone loved the gorgeous papers, and the projects we created with them, and of course in true Heather style I forgot to take any photos of the day, however I did get reminded to do the door prizes, which I'd organised for each hour (just as well someone was on the ball - lol)
I haven't been able to work out the exact amount we raised today, but it's around $300!  Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported this day, I really enjoyed it, and I'd love to do another day like this again, stay tuned....lol

I hope these projects inspire you to create.
God Bless love
Heather xox

Just a little add on now that all the monies have come in, We have officially made $400 which I will be giving to Coral Davies (the treasurer) tonight at the Loaves & Fishes Community Meals.  Not a bad effort, thanks to all who took part and helped to make it a great day.
