Something Saturday - Inchie equivalent card for those with an A4 Brain!

Image
Hi there Creators, Well today I thought I'd have a go at an "inchie" card, only mine (unsurprisingly for me) aren't inchies! The idea behind it is that you have inch squares, which get attached to a background paper (which has been scored up before hand so you have lines to attach your inchies to, and embossed with an embossing folder, which then deletes the score lines. However, as you have to cut your base card down to create an inchie card, I decided to do things "my way" hence "equivalent for an A4 brain" Here are the 2 Inchie cards I received the first one from Simone my up-line as a swap at the Stampin' Up!event. She's used the beautiful vibrant Flowering Zinnias designer series paper and the second from Lee-Allan one of my down-line (which uses some paper that now I need to buy 🤣) check it out for yourself:  Natures Sweetness Designer Series Paper then I got onto creating one - my size using retired Designer Papers (you can never

Something Saturday - Embossed Acetate

Image
Hi there Creators At our recent Creative Connections (demo only event) Bec Scurr (one of my sister demos from Queensland) did a talk on using embossing folders and created a gorgeous card using an acetate window.  I thought I should have a go and show you too. So here are the cards I created: This is the card I created before the video cutting out of the Cute Zoo Crew Designer Paper for the little guy with his bongo drums, Check out all the products I've used here: What Heather Used I've used my Black Stazon to rub over the window sheeting so the design pops out (and the sentiments are stamped inside the card deliberately to show through the window. This is the one I made up in the video, made in the same way, but this time using the new Stars at Night hybrid (embossing folder & dies), some of the gorgeous new Winter Meadow Designer Paper, one of the new Faceted Gems in the middle of the star, and a saying from (again new) Night Devine Stamp set, oh and not forgetting the D

Class Cards for October

Image
Hi there Creators, Exciting to be able to use some of the new Mini Catalogue products in our class cards for October! There is a change with my Maryborough class to be aware of, and that is that we're moving!  So we'll actually be meeting up at the Wattle City Church, they have a nice little meeting room at the back which I think will be perfect for us.  I'll be sending out an email with the address, if you don't get my emails let me know! The dates for classes are: Wednesday 4th at 10.30am in Laanecoorie (my classroom) Thursday 5th 7pm (my classroom again)  and Saturday 7th at 10.30am in our new location.  Class cost is $24 for 4 cards.  Don't forget to book your spot! Here are the cards we'll be creating: This first one uses the Online exclusive Trucking Along , which is a punch and stamp set, sadly the stamp isn't from the same set, it's from Artistically Inked but I wanted a basic Happy Birthday rather than a fancy one!🤣 The die set Around the Bend

Something Saturday - Diamond pop out Card

Image
Hi There Creators today I'm showing you how to make a diamond pop out card (as per usual I'm not really sure if it has a proper name so that's what I'm calling it!) At the Craft Alive Bendigo show, Bev Anderson the Close to My Heart consultant was teaching this card, and she kindly gave me a kit to try out, I thought it was really cool, so figured sharing is caring! Here's the one she gave me to make:  Then In the video I make this one up using the beautiful Fresh as a Daisy Designer paper, with Garden Green as a mat underneath.  In the video I say that I'll be putting the measurements up on here, so here goes.... Take your A5 base piece of card, fold in 1/2 at 10.5cm, then fold the front in 1/2 again at 5.25cm (or just fold manually and use your bone scorer to flatten it) this will give you 3 sections, the front 2 are the same size. On the back: Green layer: 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" Designer Paper:  3 1/2" x 5 1/4" The front 2 flaps (so you'l

Something Saturday - Scalloped Gift Card Box

Image
Hi There Creators Well I have to say this box stumped me initially, (probably because I didn't read the name right) - it's all in the name "Gift Card", so I was wondering what the heck the insert bit was for 🤣   Now I know!  check them out here: Scalloped Gift Card Box Anyway in my video today I decorate it up for a Father's Day gift (shhh don't tell Tom)  I'm pretty sure I'm safe as Father's day is tomorrow and he's unlikely to watch my video or read my blog 🤣 (now just to make sure he doesn't look over my shoulder as I type this up.....) So this is a really cute little box, obviously designed to hold a gift card, it slips into the insert nicely (who'd have thought?!)  with just a few pieces of cut Designer paper and a stamp or two you can make it look really good.  As you can see I had to add a bit of bling, so I chose the More Dazzle specialty paper to go as the top base layer.  Then the Designer paper I chose is the Let's Go

Something Saturday - A Million Thanks Kit

Image
Hi There Creators, Well we're on the last week of August and the kits are still discounted, so I promise I'll move away from kits next week, but this "Million Thanks" is a lovely kit (currently this month reduced to $31.20 from $39), and you'll see you don't just have to stick to the kit!, especially as there are some extra bits in it, and you do get a stamp set & mini ink pad to continue creating with. (just think with a few different kits you'd end up with a few different ink pad colours, and a heap of stamps!), and Kits really are an amazing way to have a self-contained crafting session. Anyway on with the photographic evidence.....  here are the 3 cards types you make with this kit (which incidentally creates officially 9 cards)  As you can see they have clear embossing on them so the surface is shiny in places. I have also created this one using one of the spare labels and the piece that the heart pushes out from, then stamped using the little f

Something Saturday - Cozy & Bright

Image
Hi there Creators As August is Kit'tastic month (ie kits are reduced)  I figured it was high time to hop on and show off one of my latest kits, so here we go.. It's a Christmas kit called Cozy & Bright , I have liked the look of this kit for a while and did end up getting it for free at our recent Creative Collaborations Team event (woo hoo!) Discovered once I opened it in the video that it actually does 12 cards, which at the discounted August price of $32.80 is actually a bit of a bargain, especially as it includes an ink stampin spot, a stamp set and a block! Anyway I'm sure you're way more interested in seeing the creations that having me waffle! this is the main card the kit creates: then I cut one of the cards up to create 2 more cards.... This first one I've fussy cut out some of the greenery, then used some gilded leafing on the background (which is the back of the card cut down) I've added a layer of gold foil cardstock underneath.  to see all I&#

Something Saturday - Magic Slider Card

Image
Hi There Creators, Today I'm showing how I make a magic slider card, here is the original one I made up using the Bright & Beautiful Suite :   with the stamps I've used my Brights Stampin' Write Marker s to create the rainbow effect by colouring directly onto the stamps, then you huff on the stamp to put moisture back onto it, then stamp it. Then this is the one I made up in the video using the Online Exclusive Trucking Along Bundle , so cool, it's a punch and stamp set.   I've used the Gold Celebrations Specialty Designer Series "paper" I'd call it acetate!  as I thought it was kind of fun having the printed acetate instead of plain, and there's a bonus that one side is gold and the other is silver 😊  I've also stamped directly onto the Herringbone Ribbon , I love that you can do that with this ribbon as it's quite smooth, and wide. I promised the measurements on here, so here goes, you'll need: A 1/2 piece of A4 (cut lengthways
