Something Saturday - Diagonal Cut Card x 2

Image
Hi there Creators, I received a gorgeous card from Lee-Allan (one of my Stampin' Up! downline), and I loved the layout of it, so she gave me permission to "case" is Case stand for "Copy and Share Everything". Before I get going, I forgot to mention in the video, there is an amazing joining special for the month of May, where you can get the usual $235 of goodies for $169, but ALSO you get the New In Colour: Ink Pads, Stampin' Write Markers, Designer Paper, and A4 papers I think it worked out to $124 of extra goodies for free!!  if you want to find out more let me know, or go here:  Join Heather's Team Here is her card:  How gorgeous is this using the new Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper ? Having inspected it thoroughly (as you do), I decided actually if I'm making one, then it really needs to be 2 (which is possibly what you're meant to do!)  read on for my measurements....... Then I did a trial run myself with some old retired Designer

Something Saturday - Show & Tell

Image
Hi There Creators, Today I was thinking that you might like to check out all the swaps I received at OnStage (the Stampin' Up! event held in Melbourne a couple of weekends ago.  The idea behind it, in case you've never heard of swaps before, is that I create a heap of the same card, and others do the same, then at the event we swap cards to end up with samples of all sorts of different stamp sets, card ideas etc, it's really fun, and I love the diversity of what I receive back! I show them all off in the video, but in case you wanted to check any out in particular, I've photographed them all in groups of approx 4 (thank goodness I didn't make up 100+ swaps🤣) but it's still a bit of a long post! (and here's the irony, I forgot to take a photo of mine🤣) So here we go, I'm not going to be giving credit to each individual that made them, but rest assured they are all Stampin' Up! demos😍 (some I don't know who made them, usually you'd put your

Something Saturday - Blackout Embossing

Image
Hi there Creators Today I'm showing you a technique I learnt just recently - Janine Rawlins had put it up on her FB, and as soon as I saw it I had to go and have a go!  OH MY GOODNESS!! If you haven't come across it before and you have a plentiful supply of embossing folders, I suspect you will be like me too.🤣 So here are the creations I made then I'll give you a brief rundown on how to do it: (I may have got a little carried away......) First up: Fern 3D embossing folder and one of the embossing folders from Stripes & Splatters 3D embossing folders . Then the other embossing folder from Stripes & Splatters is the Pretty Peacock one, and the purple one is one of the Basics 3D embossing Folders Then lastly the 2 embossing folders from Fun Patterns embossing folders (these aren't 3D folders, but they still work 😍) Don't they look great? So, here is the way to do it.....  For these ones I started off with a piece of white cardstock, embossed it, then

Something Saturday - A Little Latte

Image
Hi there Creators,  Well today I thought I'd play with one of my lastest goodies, A Little Latte Designer Series Paper , although I'm starting to think that maybe I should have ordered the Stamp set & Dies too: Latte Love Bundle .  They are all "Online Exclusive goodies", which really only means they're not in a catalogue - but you can see them online (and you can click the links above to view them) Anyway here is the card I made up in the video: I borrowed the saying from Trucking Along (which is another one of the Online Exclusives goodies), and felt a need to add some bling, (another online exclusive)  Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins - oh these are really nice!  I do love a good sequin without a hole in the middle🤣 Then I made up this card below too the backing papers are just gorgeous!, saying is also from the Trucking Along stamp set, the green piece running through the middle is actually the reverse side of the coffee splatter top piece.😊 If you mis

Class Cards for April

Image
Hi There Creators, I'm getting organised with my class cards for April, as my calendar is looking pretty chock-a-block for the rest of the month! As the new catalogue comes out in May, this could be the last time we play with some of these (excitingly I'm off to Melbourne on Thursday for the weekend for the Stampin' Up! OnStage event, where we're hoping to get the new catalogue to peruse) Anyway to the cards, this first one is fun with swiveling circles, I do love the Hey Chuck stamp set , always makes me smile! Next up is a Men's card using the Trusty Tools Bundle and the Metal Plate 3D embossing folder Some of the new goodies.... A little Latte Designer Series Papers paired up with the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch and the new Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins . Oh and the saying is from Trucking Along Stamp set And lastly this technique I learnt the other day, and honestly thought I'd uploaded the video for a something Saturday - oopsie, just discovered I didn'

Something Saturday - Stampin' Block Watercolouring

Image
Hi there Creators Today I thought after last week (and the promise in my blog I'd show you how to create the background to the card) that I'd better show you how I created the background to the butterfly card with the bluey/green background. So here goes.... this is the card all finished that I started in the video, figured as I'm on a roll with baby cards for church I'd go for another one 🤣  I've used the Cheerful Daisies Stamp set for the background of the base card and the 3 little flowers in the corner, The colours I used for the watercolouring are Melon Mambo and Gorgeous Grape , Oh and Charming Sentiments Stamp set for the sayings Then I also went on to make this card, which uses Azure Afternoon and Sweet Sorbet for the watercolouring bit, then words from Filled with Happiness stamp set , Trucking Along Stamp se t and Circle sayings stamps for the flowers. So to create this effect all you do is take an E Block , then ink up 1/2 with one colour, the ot

Something Saturday - Paper Butterfly Accents

Image
Hi there Creators Today we're checking out the beautiful Paper Butterfly Accents, not an expensive item, but soooo pretty! Have to admit that mine had done a runner, and I was left with the outside bit that you pop the butterflies out from, which was what I had planned to do something with, but nevertheless kind of irritating that I couldn't find the rest of the pack, which of course turned up after I'd done the video, so in fact I could use some of the butterflies in these cards.  So annoying when you search and search, then they turn up where you've already checked 1/2  a dozen times! However I eventually decided I'd just do the video anyway, as they say in Happy Gilmore, "just play it as it lies"🤣 And here's the first card I created, this one uses the bit you'd usually throw away, as a mask, and I love how it turned out!  I've used daubers to add the colour, as I thought brushes might not work so well, I've also used the Filled with H

Something Saturday - Cradled with Love

Image
Hi There Creators,  Today we're checking out the Cradled with Love stamp set you can get for FREE when you purchase $90 of goodies Woo hoo!  it's only available till end of February as part of the Sale-a-Bration offering . click the link to see the sale-a-bration goodies.  Also if you join Stampin' Up! there's a rather good deal going on too, check out this link: Join my team.   Time is running out! When I was at church the other day, I asked what cards they needed (as I usually try and keep them supplied with cards) and they said baby cards....yikes!  I really don't make many as most of my friends are my age, and have teenage/young adult kids not quite up to the marrying and reproducing stage yet🤣  So I thought I'd better get to work!  Thank goodness Sale-a-Bration has a dedicated Baby stamp set for me to use!   Here's the card I made up before the video: I have to say the detail is so lovely in the stamped image. I did discover a couple of things that
