Something Saturday - Inchie equivalent card for those with an A4 Brain!

Image
Hi there Creators, Well today I thought I'd have a go at an "inchie" card, only mine (unsurprisingly for me) aren't inchies! The idea behind it is that you have inch squares, which get attached to a background paper (which has been scored up before hand so you have lines to attach your inchies to, and embossed with an embossing folder, which then deletes the score lines. However, as you have to cut your base card down to create an inchie card, I decided to do things "my way" hence "equivalent for an A4 brain" Here are the 2 Inchie cards I received the first one from Simone my up-line as a swap at the Stampin' Up!event. She's used the beautiful vibrant Flowering Zinnias designer series paper and the second from Lee-Allan one of my down-line (which uses some paper that now I need to buy 🤣) check it out for yourself:  Natures Sweetness Designer Series Paper then I got onto creating one - my size using retired Designer Papers (you can never

July Mega Class

Image
Hi there Creators,  I usually do a Mega Class in January and July (normally I try and do Christmas in July) however this year as the Annual Catalogue has only just come out we don't have much of a Christmas offering, so I'm going with Kids and Big Kids (let's face it we all need Big Kids cards! - especially if you have any guys in your life - husband/kids/nephews......)  I know my husband is just a big kid 🤣  Might have to try and do Christmas later after my trip to UK. A sneak peek of the cards will be happening in my videos throughout June, however here is a conglomerate photo to whet your appetite: This time rather than receiving a Stamp set I thought we go with something different but useful......Stampin' Write Markers, very handy as you can colour your stamps with these and stamp, or use them to colour in images (and in fact other things you can do with them eg create an interesting background by colouring on a clear block and stamping it)   You'll also re

Something Saturday - Stage Window Card

Image
Hi There Creators, The Zoo Crew Suite , just lends itself so perfectly to a stage setting that I just had to create an easy window card to show you. Here's the first one I made before the video: these images have been cut out from the Designer Series Paper, some of the dies do match the images, but these ones are fussy cut. then in the video I start on making this one, and this is how it turns out.  I was thinking it would make a great Christmas Card, if I can find a saying with words from a Christmas Carol for it.  I loved the idea of having double curtains, let's face it most stages have extra curtaining behind the main first curtain, if I made it again I realised that I should have positioned the 2nd curtains upstage a bit, so you see the bottom of them - ah well trial and error! Lol in the video I wonder what the sausage looking pieces are for, and then on reviewing the video I realised they could be tree decorations, I've just had another epiphany - curtain tie backs!

Cards for June Classes

Image
Hi there Creators,  here is my offering for my June Card classes - dates are Wednesday 7th at 10.30am Laanecoorie, Thursday 8th 7pm Laanecoorie, and Saturday 10th at 10.30am in Maryborough, If you plan to come, do let me know!  Also due to catalogue price rises as I announced at the last classes the class cost is now $24 for all 4 cards. First Up is using the new Beautiful Balloons stamp set (such a fabulous set for anyone!)  And it does come as a bundle with the dies (which we use later anyway)And do you spy some of the new colours in this? Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lolly, Lemon Lime Twist 😍 Up next another one of the new Bundles, I especially like this one as I love punches especially useful circles! The Circle Sayings Bundle has a 2 3/8" circle punch, the 2" circle punch in the Online exclusives is a great fit for the middle! (do you spy more new colours?  Moody Mauve and Copper Clay) I couldn't resit using the fringing die from Beautiful Balloons Dies to create this

Something Saturday - 3 Uses for the Beautiful Balloons Striped Die

Image
Hi there Creators,  Oooo multiple uses for one die, excellent!  I'm wondering if some other clever people out there have thought of more uses for this die🤣 Here is the die..... Check out the whole bundle here: Beautiful Balloons Bundle there actually is an entire suite (which I wish I'd bought now!!) Beautiful Balloons Suite   Anyway my 3 ways are using the die as fringing, as in this card: kind of like one a flapper skirt, I've used the stunning Dry Brushed Metallic Paper to create this one, OH WOW it's blingy!😍  Have to admit once I'd made it I really didn't know how to add the saying, ended up choosing to heat emboss black on vellum so you can see through it a little, and attached it with a couple of the brads.   The other 2 ways are incorporated into the next card, the first being that you allow cardstock on both sides of the die, then thread ribbon in and out to create a dash effect (go the Morse code 🤣)  Then the other way is to cut the card in the

Something Saturday - Faux Silk

Image
Hi there Creators Today I thought we'd delve into Faux Silk using the tissue paper that has sat on my desk for quite some time now.  If you're a regular viewer/reader you might recall a few weeks ago my UFO video where I used up a (sadly smaller than I'd hoped) portion of my unfinished objects from my crafting desk, and amidst the scraps was a piece of tissue paper that came from a pack of window sheeting, which I mentioned at the time I'd kept for this very purpose, finally I have used it! so.... here are the projects I made up with it: Here is the one I made up in the video, check out what I used in this card here: What Heather Used and this one I made up after, as a card to send off to my Mum  this one I've added some gilded leafing to and also a spot of heat embossing in gold around the label, check out what I used for this card here: What Heather Used , I have used the new Cheerful Daisies bundle  (such a great bundle)     thought I'd better show a close u

Something Saturday - It's a Wrap Card

Image
Hi there Creators,  Today's video is about an "envelope fold card" but in typical Heather style I had to change it round 🤣 I really wanted to not have to cut/discard any of my 6x6" Designer Paper and to be able to just use it wrapped round the card, with minimal effort.  Admittedly there is a bit of lining up that is required, but generally it's quite simple, and I think the result is worth it, just a little bit different!😁 Anyway enough waffling, here is the card I made before the video:  I used a designer paper that's now retired but the dies are from All That Die set. As you can see the envelope type flap on the side tucks in under the raised saying And the back gets decorated up at the same time 😊 Then the card I made up in the video is this one:  I've used the new Bright & Beautiful Papers with matching Beautiful Balloons Bundle (stamps & dies)  I don't know what it is about this bundle/suite that appeals to me so much but I think it

Something Saturday - Easy One Layer Card

Image
Hi there Creators,  Today I'm showing you a deceptively simple and a bit of an optical illusion sort of card. Potentially I should have called it a "no layer" card.  Ben (oldest son) saw them and was impressed with the fact these cards are only the base card, here they are: This first set is continuing into the new catalogue Natures Prints Stamp set  I've teamed it up with the returning colour Pretty Peacock and the Online exclusive Loose Frosted Dots . (not adhesive backed but easy enough to add with a dot of glue!) This second card uses a retiring stamp set Dragonfly Garden (and yay reduced from $41 to $16.40! - although if it's still available and you want it you only have until 1st May!) so click the link and order it now! I've teamed it up with Orchid Oasis ink pad and Iridescent Rhinestones (so pretty) The card below uses the cute Party Puffins stamp set, again a retiring set (and reduced from $35 to $21, bargain!)  and a spot of retiring bling too!
