Something Saturday - Inchie equivalent card for those with an A4 Brain!

Image
Hi there Creators, Well today I thought I'd have a go at an "inchie" card, only mine (unsurprisingly for me) aren't inchies! The idea behind it is that you have inch squares, which get attached to a background paper (which has been scored up before hand so you have lines to attach your inchies to, and embossed with an embossing folder, which then deletes the score lines. However, as you have to cut your base card down to create an inchie card, I decided to do things "my way" hence "equivalent for an A4 brain" Here are the 2 Inchie cards I received the first one from Simone my up-line as a swap at the Stampin' Up!event. She's used the beautiful vibrant Flowering Zinnias designer series paper and the second from Lee-Allan one of my down-line (which uses some paper that now I need to buy 🤣) check it out for yourself:  Natures Sweetness Designer Series Paper then I got onto creating one - my size using retired Designer Papers (you can never

Cards for May classes

Image
Hi there Creators It's that time again, where I show off next months class cards.  The class dates are Wednesday 3rd May 10.30am in Laanecoorie, Thursday 4th at 7pm in Laanecoorie, then Saturday 6th at 10.30am in Maryborough.  New Catalogues should be with everyone by now, if you don't have one and want one, get in touch! Just a heads up that this month will still be $20 for the 4 cards, however due to rising costs I do need to increase my prices, and I'll be increasing by $1 per card - so $24 for the 4 cards.  Here goes..... First up I've used the new Zoo Crew (that will be available from 2nd May) to create this cute card Then after showing a friend how to use these Give it a Whirl Dies the other day I figured we should do this in class too (they're so much fun!)  I've teamed it up with Alphabest and Waves of Inspiration so the wheel says U R Totally Awesome, as it goes round Back to new stuff again, and this time the gorgeous Cheerful Daisies Stamp set (it

Something Saturday - Bits & Pieces

Image
Hi there Creators Today was definitely a bits & pieces day!  I had a bit of clean up of my crafting desk, and in the video I give a quick tour of my craft room (exceedingly messy, but hey that's the way I work!)  And let's face it we all like to gig at other peoples crafting space 🤣 Anyway I have this "little" (actually it kind of grows) area at the back of my desk that ends up with all those UFO's (unfinished objects).  Today I pulled them all forwards and that's what my video is primarily on, I've teamed up some of my UFO's with retiring bling  (gotta love Bling!) and used up a disappointingly small amount of it!   I think I need to have people over to use up my UFO's (and take them away with them!!)   Any volunteers? Alright well, moving on to the actual cards I did make up..... (somewhat Christmassy theme going on here! Ah well never to early to make Christmas cards😁)  I do mention in the video that I'll give you links to the bling

Something Saturday - Elegant Border Dies

Image
Hi There Creators, Today we're checking out these absolutely gorgeous Elegant Border Dies, they are an "OnLine Exclusive" thing, so you can't find them in the catalogue, however there is hope!  check out this link:  Elegant Border Dies .  As soon as I saw them I knew they were keepers!  not in the least bit masculine 🤣 Anyway in the video I simply show them and cut them out, unless you stayed right till the end in which case you'll have seen the cards I'm showing off here: The blue card uses Starry Sky and Bermuda Bay inks rubbed onto the card using the blending brushes, and silver heat embossing for the saying. I wanted this card to Pop, so I chose the Parakeet Party as the base, and the Fine Shimmer Paper is just stunning for the butterflies.  I also mention in the video that I have mixed up gold & silver embossing powder to do the saying, as it kind of ends up a champagne sort of colour which went better than the gold or silver on their own would hav

Something Saturday - Colourful Kaleidoscope

Image
Hi There Creators Oh my goodness you need to get this kit!!  I have just scratched the surface of some of the things to use it for (other than making the 9 cards it's meant to make lol) Here is the link to check it out:  Colorful Kaleidoscope (yes colour is spelt wrong 🤣- it's an American thing)  Seriously amazing kit especially if you're prepared to add more cardstock, some extra ink colours and potentially sacrifice some of the intended cards. Anyway here are the "official" cards you can make with the kit (it comes with 3 of each)  Won't you just check out those envelopes!!  I reckon there's a card or two just by taking those apart 🤣 However when you are prepared to sacrifice a bit....... (admittedly they're not quite finished yet, still require sayings but you get the drift!) I used the reverse sides of the overlays as a mask, and they do turn out kind of pretty themselves! got to add bling!   If you're careful with them you can turn them back

Something Saturday - Bendi Cards

Image
Hi there Creators,  I was deciding what to make for my Tutorial card (I'm part of a global monthly tutorial group called Crafty Collaborations, when you purchase $75+ of goodies from me, I send the whole tutorial of around 35+ projects out as a thank you).  Anyway, I was at the Picture to Page Show and the only stamp set I had with me was the Legendary Ride (motorbikes) with Ready to Ride matching designer papers , so guess what I used 🤣  and here is the card I created..... Anyway I was thinking it would be fun to make another similar card, and that I should do a video on it, so...... here is the card I made for the video I've used the True Beauty Bundle to create it, along with the Abigail Rose Designer Paper, Oh and not forgetting the Delicate Edges Dies! As promised the measurements for the Bendi cards: Take your A4 piece of card, cut it in  1/2 lengthways, then score it in 1/2 at 14.8cm With the front of the card you'll now cut it so you just have a section 5 cm hig

Something Saturday - Heat embossing with stencils

Image
Hi there Creators today I thought I'd have a play around to see what it would look like to heat emboss using stencils or masks (in this case the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks )  I love the tartan look you can get with these ones, and I said to Tom (hubby) I think I made the perfect card for a Scottish Essendon Supporter 🤣 (you'll see....) I wanted to try out both lots of the embossing powders and as they come in packs of 3 colours it kind of worked (bearing in mind I used clear last week).  In with the " Basics Embossing Powders " you have Black, White and Clear.  Then in with the " Metallics Embossing Powders " there are Gold, Silver and Copper the first card I made up used the Metallics, here it is, it's kind of cool that you can heat emboss over top of heat embossing.  With this card I did the big silver squares first then the small gold squares & lines.  heat embossing always looks classy (especially the metallics)  I've used the Limited E

Class Cards for April

Image
Hi There Creators My classes in April are marginally disrupted with Easter, the Maryborough Class has moved forwards to 1st as otherwise we'd be meeting on Easter Saturday, which might not be the best move! So with that in mind, the first class is Sat 1st at 10.30am in Maryborough, then  Wednesday 5th 10.30am in Laanecoorie, and Thursday 6th 7pm in Laanecoorie  $20 for 4 cards, and here are the cards: I have finally broken into the Flat Adhesive Backed Pearls - it's one of those embellishments I just can't help but look at and admire how beautiful they are 🤣 you know the sort that you don't want to use, you just want to admire?  Anyway I liked the idea of having a couple spilling out of the bottle with gilded leafing .  I've used the Heron Habitat Bundle for the stamped (and die cut) bits, a bit of the By the Bay Designer Paper, and the Jar Punch to finish it off Next card uses one of the new "Online Exclusive" products this is Irresistible Blooms Sta
